Sokras was starting to get used to dancing with Austin. He hoped for many more chances for them to dance like this.
Unbeknownst to the oblivious dancers, Kujo was nearby. A dance club, full with people who wished to escape the burdons of the world and to mete out their frustrations by dancing was the perfect place for him to gain power. At that moment, he watched them with a grimace on his face. "That's right, recover what you have lost and then pay the price for it, naive Child of Misery."

Hours later, Sokras and Austin emerged from the club. Austin had his arm wrapped around Sokras's waist as they walked home.

He gave a light squeak, all this new contact was taking him by surprise. But...if it was Austin, he found himself not minding in the least.

When they got home. Austin slipped his shoes off and then waited for Sokras to take his off. When he did,. he led Sokaras to bed and laid down with him.

Sokras leaned in against Austin's chest. The other human's scent was soothing. Yes, I've decided. I'll...use my power to protect this human. For he is definitely, worth treasuring.

Austin smiled and kissed Sokras gently. "Did you have fun?"

"Yeah." Sokras smiled and looked up at the ceiling. "Y'know, back when I lived a human life, I would rarely leave my home. I...disliked crowds and loud noises." He paused. "Comparing the two, I've changed so much. I went from having little social involvement voluntarily to being forced to be an outcast. Normally, I'd be depressed thinking about it. But..." He turned to face Austin. "Having you within my presence, seems to negate that effect. For that, I thank you...Austin."

"No problem.." Austin said as he kissed the other again. "I promise to let no one hurt you." He whispered.

Austin drifted to sleep shortly after Sokras did. He couldn't ask for a happier life.

"Heh heh heh... Now, while the Child of Misery sleeps, I'll just sample a few nightmares from his friend..." Kujo mused as he reached into Austin's mind. Using his powers to find and isolate his worst and most tragic memories then amplified them.
