"Of course, I wouldn't expect it. It would just be a nice change of pace to have some company to travel with. And no offense taken," Calix said to Olin. Calix had almost forgotten about Olin's previous comment. He was somewhat startled by the sudden remark from whom he took as the quiet one. He decided not to think about it, and wasn't worried about the secretive nature of their voyage.

"Well, Nef, what do you think? Should he come, or not?" Jillian asked.

(hey folks, going on vacation, thought i'd make one last post before i leave, won't be back till sunday) Calix sat in silence, awaiting the deciding vote. He took a moment to look around at the camp, taking in the atmosphere of companionship among them. It was a feeling that he had unknowingly desired for a long time.

((we picked up steam there)) Nef thought long and hard. It would be suicide to bring someone into their type of adventure if the person was ill-trained. Doubly dangerous to themselves if the person WAS a spy. Still, this man had a strange vitality. His wound was agape and he didn't even notice it. More surprising was that he had made it so far into a land that rearranged itself just to trick travelers. If he was a spy, it would be bad to let him off now. Better to learn more about him. "Doesn't matter to me," Nef said finally, "Although I think he'll need help getting around won't he?"

"I greatly appreciate it. I have experience in traveling, it's just nice to have some company," Calix stated. "I'm not too bad with a sword either," he said, slowly drawing his Nodachi. He was slightly nervous about it, and wanted to avoid startling anyone with it. (Nodachi is what Calix calls his sword. Basically a katana.)

Flying through the skies was a small young woman, looked about sixteen but through her eyes you could see it was merely an image. Her mouth and fingers dripped of human blood, the source not too far behind her. She giggled, dodging a few arrows then stopped. "Want to play,hmm..?" She said then stopped in mid-air, the group of humans blasting at her as she just giggled charging at them.

Arc let out a sigh. "Alright then. Let's hurry up." He was done eating and got up pacing the ground. "It's reaching twilight and we need to get out of this forest."

Jillian nodded, and stood. "Okay, Calix, basic rules; no stealing, no unnecessary strife, no acting out of place." she explained. "The main healers are Arc and Kaitlyn, and the rest of us are fighters. If you are going to stay, we expect you to fight." she said. "Still staying?"

Neferous stood up, looking at Calix. "I think he's been initiated already, so he shouldn't go hungry," he said, offering the rest of his soup. "We're going to be moving soon so eat up."

"Don't worry, I'm not the kind to intentionally cause friction. And I've got no problem with fighting. Fifteen years of my life were dedicated to intense training. And thank you for the soup, Neferous, I appreciate it," Calix said. He took a few large bites, and then remembered the wound on his arm. "I don't suppose it would be too much trouble for someone to patch that up, would it?" he chuckled.

"No, not at all!" Kaitlyn laughed. "There has been nothing to do for days, so I have needed something to keep my mind occupied." She took a cloth out of her pack and some antiseptic tape, and wrapped his arm, then taped the wrap together. "There." she smiled.

Neferous felt slightly disturbed as the Calix said his name. The stranger was calling him by his name within five minutes of knowing him. He had to agree with Olin that their guest was a getting a little too acquainted with their teem. Still, if Calix was the type of person he hoped he would be, their chances of being beaten by Blaise just went down a notch.

"Thank you," Calix said to Jillian. He tried to return a smile, but all he could manage to do was curl one side of his mouth up a bit. It had been a very long time since he had smiled about anything. He hadn't frowned about anything either, though. "If it makes you all more comfortable, I'll keep to myself. I don't want to be a burden," he assured the group.

"It's alright, I'm sure you won't be a burden to anyone here." The side of Arc's lips curved up. He stopped his pacing and began picking up, basically getting ready to move on.

"Alright then. Anything I can help with?" Calix offered. He was grateful for being accepted, at least temporarily, though he still felt some suspicion around him. He was doing whatever he could to ease any tension, but wasn't sure if he was being too forward.
