He was having a bit of trouble keeping up and keeping track of all he said, but he was enjoying himself anyway. It was surprising how much she knew about all of the plants; she'd be better than any tour guide. And much prettier, too, he thought. He followed her about, glad she was taking her time and having fun.

Nastara was enjoying herself immensely. She knew Asher wouldn't remember all she said, but it was enough for her that he cared to listen. Not to mention that look of pride at her intelligence, it was heart warming.
After taking her time and examining every type of rose this garden had to offer she finally stopped, and took a deep breath before turning to Asher. "I think I'm done exploring the roses now. Was there somewhere you wanted to go look at? Or should we just wander?"

Asher looked up as he thought; the sun was beginning to hide behind the multiple clouds that were coming across the sky, but it was still light out. "Hmmm... I haven't been to that pond I had mentioned in a while, would you go with me there? There's a path that leads to it near here taht goes around the back of the building; I think they have a lot of vegetables growing back there right now."

Nastara smiled, "That sounds nice, are there fish or ducks in the pond?" She stepped back to let Asher take the lead.

Asher stayed in stride beside her as he led the way down the path, ignoring some of the smaller branch paths on the sides. "There are some fish... they tried to keep it more natural, so there's not many bright colors, but there's some bluegill, crappie, bass, and a couple of other commons in there. There's also one of those mini fountain-type things in the middle; During summer and holidays at night they often place lights on it, making all the droplets that come down prettily colored." He paused for a moment as theys tepped out of the way of a few workers with a gardening cart. "Oh! And there's also the lore that leads people to tossing in a coin or two to make a wish with their eyes closed."

Making small noises of interest she followed Asher, still looking about at the flowers and trying not to walk into anyone or anything. The workers took her by surprise and she nearly walked into them, causing her to blush and stammer out an apology as she stepped back by Asher. " Ooh, the pond sounds lovely with all the lights, I bet that's something the kids would love. And what lore do you mean? Just the traditional wishing well? Or is it something more here?"

Asher collected his thoughts before responding to make suer he got the story right. "As a prewarning, I'm not the best story teller; I tend to get side tracked. But it's said that hundreds of years ago, a small meteor landed at where the pond is now; it wasn't until several decades ago that they dug out that area more to make it deeeper and cultivating it as much as they could for water and plant life. Anyway, the story goes that when the pond was first turned into a pond, bits of the meteor still hadn't fully eroded yet or anything and were -are- present in the water. A fairly young lady had come to take a look at the pond; she was heartbroken, and everywhere she had been looking it seemed she saw the man who broke her heart. She eventually wandered to the pond to stare into the water, not all too sure with what she wanted to do; she was debating moving far away; it was just a small town then and it was hard to avoid anyone in it. While she was debating and wishing for something to go right, she had begun to cry. After three of her tears had fallen in, the waves of the pond got bigger and bigger, way too big for a body of water so small. Her sadness was replaced by curiousity and fear as she backed away. After a while, the waves subsided... and on the other side of the pond was a man she had never seen before, fiddlign with some machine. She went over to him; turns out, the machine had generated the waves, but it was just meant to be a filter causing ripples to keep the water from being stagnant and had malfunctioned. She offered up the idea of putting in fish to keep the water moving, and that's when the guy noticed she had been crying. She ended up telling him her whole story after he had acknowledged her idea of fish and had invited her along to pick out some fish. They ended up spending time together, and they fell in love and were married. Ever since, the pond has been regarded as good luck. And that's why the pond is still here, as well as fish. Over time, the town developed into this good-sized city. Some construction company tried to buy the land to make offices; the citypeople got upset and said they couldn't have it; they had the gardens put in to discourage more offers."
By the time he finished telling the tale, they were at the path that circled the circumference of the pond.

Despite Asher's claim of not being a good story-teller Nastara was enraptured by the story. She smiled at hearing the poor girl got her happy ending. " Thats such a sweet story....and you totally had me thinking that something magical was gonna happen!" She looked out over the pond then. She'd been paying more attention to the story than where they were walking. She gasped slightly. " Oh how pretty! I'd love to see the fountain all lit up!"

He smiled. "I thought that, too, when I first heard the story. And yes, isn't it?! We should come back when it will be lit up. Or, even if we're here late enough tonight- or if we come back tonight- we can see it then." He gestured at the pond. "Will you make a wish?"

She thought for a moment then blushed deeply. " I don't know what I'd wish for. I already have a delightful gentleman interested in me, a wonderful family, and I'm happy. I'd wish for more days like today, and yesterday....with you. But I feel it would be wasting a wish here. Because a part of my heart knows that all I'd have to do is ask you.

Asher couldn't help but smile as he leaned in and kissed her cheek again. "That feeling is right... anything you asked of me that I had the power to give, I would do. There's nothing you could think of to wish for that I couldn't do?"

She smiles shyly at him as she shook her head. "Nope, nothing I don't think you couldn't do......but me having the courage to ask certain things is an entirely other question...." She blushed and looked surprised at her boldness and quickly changed the subject looking up at the sky, " how long do you think we have till sunset?"

He quirked his eyebrow. "Well, how long is it actually or how long will it seem? If it's actually, I'd say a couple hours... That is, if the clouds clear and you can actually see the sunset. It may seem quick to the two of us though; or it may seem longer, if I'm stuck here wondering what you'd need to muster up courage to ask of me."

Nastara blushed bright red almost instantly. "Asher, I'm sorry, but its something that I really can not ask right now. It wouldn't be proper, or lady-like, and its much much too soon." She tried to think of something to distract him. " Well you asked me, so turn about is fair play, is there anything you want to wish for while we're here?"

Nodding, he knew not to push it if she reacted like that. "What would I wish for..." he spoke aloud as he put on a facade of thought. "Oh! I know! To meet someone nice and polite who is actually interesting... wait, nevermind, achieved that a few days ago. Umm... One who is stunningly beautiful? I found that, too. Smart? Caring? Already found. You know what? I don't think I have anything to wish for, either. Except... maybe that the said female would give me another kiss?" He winked at her.
