Island of Moreau This PM is for YOUR (and your team's) Eyes Only!(Although it is your responsibility to get this information to your teammates.) Do NOT post this to your journal, at least not until after the event is over. Once you get this PM, you may start posting and RPng. ICly, the time for the characters is Sunday morning when all begins, NOT Saturday like it is IRL. **** The last thing you remember clearly is going to bed Thursday night. Everything seemed fairly normal at the time. It was a nice day, and a pleasant evening. However, when you wake up Sunday, you are most certainly not where you went to bed. You're not even in your duplex. Your head feels muzzy, and you've got a nasty headache. You're alone, in the jungle, soaking wet (although you have no recollection of it even raining), and have blood in your mouth and over your claws. As you slowly regain more consciousness, scattered bits and pieces return to you, but nothing more than flashes no matter how hard you concentrate. Flashes of... chubbs roaring at you, and hissing back. Blood. Hunting. Warm wriggling things in your mouth.

The Mystery Begins Joliette groaned rolling over and pushing to sit up, she used the back of a scaley hand to rub the sleep from her eyes. She opened them only to wince, Oh lord he had a headache, and it was the worst one she'd ever felt. She didn't feel so hot and the taste in her mouth made her hungry, opening her eyes she looked around to try and sort out where she was.
She wasn't sure, all she was making out was dense folliage, and the growl of her stomach.. she shivered despite the morning sun, she was cold and chalked it up to her wet clothing

Joliette Rigiel Joliette continues to sit where she had awoken deep in the jungle. Her head was in her hands and her eyes closed. It didn't matter how much she tried to ignore it the screaming headache would not go away. Perhaps it didn't help she was trying to remember how she'd gotten where she was. She was still not quite awake and shivered in the shady place she sat. Cassidy Smith Cassidy stretched a little. She was coiled over a branch, staring upwards through the canopy. Her stomach was still distended with her recent mystery meal, though perhaps a bit smaller as it digested. She rolled over slightly, something down below catching her attention. Someone was down there. After the announcement, she was a bit on edge. She began the slow, downward trip towards the ground, her scaly fingers grasping as she went. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs was making his way through the jungle, pushing bushes and leaves out of the way. He'd woken up with Amaya gone to get food, knowing thanks to a note she left. And Chubbs decided to go find Joliette after the horrid run in with Billy. With temper on high he'd been following a smell he thought was hers, he was still getting use to this smell thing, but it was nearby and in the air. Knocking a small tree out of the way, he sniffed along the ground and followed what he could of a trail. But something else caught his sense, something he remembered, and his mouth watered and his lips curled up in a snarl. It was close, and so was the smell he was following. Joliette Rigiel Her tongue flickered the taste in her mouth making her more hungry, she honestly couldn't remember much of how she'd gotten there, only lil things. She wiped her fingers on the side of her wet shirt and slowly moved to stand, and quickly changed her mind, what she wouldn't do for a painkiller just then "Ouch" she murmurs to hereslf Cassidy Smith Cass's tongue flickered. The air was full of strange scents. She couldn't even place most of them, but they seemed to people scents... or at least what passed for such a thing around here. The python in her was urging her back up the tree. Trees were safe, and there were certainly things that would prey upon snakes. The macaw was urging likewise. "Someone there?" Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs smelled around slowly and worked his way to the two smells. There is where he saw Joliette, and he gave a smile. but that soon turned into a snarl, when he noticed the tail in the tree. A god damn snake again, he remembered now why the smell was familiar and he felt so hungry. Chubbs ran at the tree, snarling. Running around the other side he grabbed at the snakes "neck", right where it would ******** it up. " God damn snakes!" He growled at it and he blinked, a flash of memory hit him and he blinked again. He looked up at the face attached to the neck in his grasp. It was big, and humanish. And the snake had... what? wings? Chubbs let go quickly and started panting for breath, trying to calm himself. " Oh Jesus, I'm sorry!... I... oh man" Joliette Rigiel Joliette looks up at familiar voices "yeah" she replied to cass and then a moment later saw David. the beast inside screamed to escape, after all here was food, she could remember bits and pieces of what struck her as an arguement with David but not what about so didn't know quite how to take his presense Cassidy Smith Cassidy made a small gurgling sound in her throat, trying to gasp for breath, her mouth wide and her many needle-like teeth showing. She clung tightly to her tree with her tail and one hand, while the other was pressed against her throat. Her feathers were fluffed out every which way. "What the hell," she managed to gasp out at last. "What the hell." She considered, briefly, fleeing up the tree again. Maybe spending the night there. Or a few nights. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs looked up at the scrambling snake... er.. snake bird woman? and felt nothing but frustration. Did every god damn thing have to run away, why did they have to run away? " Hey look... it's okay.. you can come down.... just got attacked by a snake during the lock down and they piss me off is all... look I thought ya were after Joli... my bad?" Chubbs stepped away from the tree and started backing up towards Joliette. Joliette Rigiel Joliette reached over and used the trunk of a tree and pulled herself to her feet, the damp clothing clung to her figure "I'm fine... I think" she said quietly and put one hand to her temple a moment and looked at the pair blinking "Is it... another lockout?" Cassidy Smith "I'm not after anyone," Cass told Chubbs, her voice guarded. She made no move to leave her branch, but clung tightly. The tree was safe. She was okay in the tree. "I ate. I'm full." She shifted a little. "It's not a lockout. I've already been back to see. I don't know what's going on, though. A bunch of us..." She shook her head. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs looked up in the tree and decided that sitting down beside Joliette might make the situation better. After the incident with Billy, Chubbs was all fired up. " Somones hurt a lab tech... I dunno who the victim was, stupid of them for being out here. It's not a lock down, just that Moreau's uh.. I think locking up the labs till the colprit comes forward." Joliette Rigiel "Could be.. anyone" She leaned back against hte tree standing there her tail around her leg a little. She closed her eyes "Especially with all the preditors" and then she thought to look up at Cass she'd not seen her in a long time.
She opened her eyes and peered up wow had the woman ever changed from the last she'd seen her Cassidy Smith Cass's tongue flickered. "I dunno. It's all sort of... confused. Stupid to hold us all responsible for one person's actions." She had an eye fixed firmly on Chubbs the entire time; after something like that, she was not inclined to relax. "I'm Cassidy," she said. "By the way. Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs watched the snake back, awfully closely, not leaving his eyes from her. He figured she copped some freako combo serum like he did, he'd never heard of a snake with feathers before. Picking at his claws he looked to Joliette and checked if she was alright. She seemed okay if a little disorientated. " Me and Amaya, found a knife, blood all over it...we went to the labs to hand it in" Chubbs failed to mention his bloody state right at that moment. Joliette Rigiel "Hi Cass, havin't seen you in a while" she mused quietly and closed her eyes again "What I wouldn't do for a pain killer right about now" She paused and her tongue flicckered, too many scents including the blood she could taste in her mouth. "I need food too, badly..." she paused "A knife? what did they say?" Cassidy Smith "A knife... I'm guessing that's our murder weapon?" Cassidy leaned against the tree trunk. "I hate murder mysteries." She glanced over at Joli. "I had one hell of a headache when I woke up. Pretty bad. At least you can get something back at the town centre, right?" Chubbs MacKraken Chubbs blinked and looked between the pair of them, waking up with headaches? Yeah, that was too much of a coincidence. " You both woke up with headaches?, where abouts... cuz well, I did too" Chubbs reached over to Joliette and rubbed her back with his palm, hoping she felt better. " Yeah there was this like huge army looking knife, it's something that wouldn't have been in the cafeteria or something" Chubbs went to usher Joliette to stand with him and looked up at Cass. " How about we go to the cafeteria, grab something to ... eat" Joliette Rigiel "I barely have been awake but yes... and my head is killing me" she stiffened slightly at the rub she didn't know what to make of it with the few little memory snatches she had "Food might be a good idea... before I lose control" she tried to change the topic slightly she didn't want to think of hunters, was bad enough with preditors Cassidy Smith "You guys can go on without me. I don't have much of an appetite." This might've been a true enough excuse without her recent meal still weighing her down. How did regular snakes even manage? Cassidy twisted a little, as though to climb higher again. Losing control? Other than her recent lapse in memory, and the occassional unsuccessful snap at a tree-dwelling lizard or bird, she couldn't say that was an issue for her. Not greatly. Not when dealing with other islanders, anyway. "I ate recently," she said.

Booster Shots Doctor Moreau Moreau had been worried about the status of one of the Islanders in particular who wasn't developing as expected. Joliette Riglel, subject 25 was experiencing some mutations that weren't quite as the serum was predicted to work. Moreau had been working for sometime to correct these anomalies so that they would not impact her future changes. He'd finally work out a way to restablize her changes and get her back on the right track. Moreau considered putting her out and taking her to the labs, but he decided against it. It was time some of these islanders learned atleast a little fear. He took security staff personal with him and setting the command to keep Chubbs asleep he walked into the room as Joli was sleeping. Two of the guards grabbed Joli and held her to the bed. Moreau prepped his needle. "Relax Miss Riglel, consider this a booster shot." he then injected the stabilizing serum into her. In only a matter of minutes the internal and external mutations began to correct themselves. Her scales browning more as they spread a bit further and her feet adjusting. The itching and burning spreads through her body as this happens, but it also corrected some of what had been off about her transformation up to this point. A strange sense of offness she'd felt that had gone beyond her transformation. When the changes were finished Moreau set Joli to sleep as well and drove back off. She'd be ready for her next change soon enough now... (Done for an art redo on the original image)

Joliette woke with a start to the feeligns of being held, and she tried to struggle in their hold, but their size and her little frame was of no comparison whatsoever. Her eyes fell on the red haired man she'd heard much about and a look of contempt filled her face her tongue flickering as she hisses slightly at him "Booster my arse you gormless arse" she said at him before the injection began it's spread across her bloodstream.
She struggled more against them as the burning began, not for wanting to get them off her to hurt them, more of wanting to curl up in a ball. She screamed, the pain from the shot and it's subsequent changes not something she wanted to deal with at that time. Before she could react further she felt the familiar sensation of heaviness and passed out
Alec shuffled past the duplexes with a lax pace, head hung down as he munched on snacks he'd grabbed from the caf. His posture alone communicated that he didn't wish to bump into anybody on his way back to his own duplex, which was usually the case. Despite the apparent number of 'subjects', he still managed to evade a great deal of them by mistake.
As he passed by another, a sound caught the teen's attention enough to snap him out of his cacooned mindset for a moment. A scream of suffering that caused him to visibly shudder, resonating from within the nearest housing.
The punk youth stood dumbfoundedly, eyes shooting around the deserted area as if he was expecting someone to jump in and take charge. The horrible sound died out and surprise, no one came. "Geez." He hissed and held his arms close, staring at the doorway that led to the unmistakable noise. What if a person was being attacked? What if they were being held hostage? Tortured? He even considered running and forgetting he ever heard a thing.
Taking a sharp breath inwards, he stepped closer to the structure like it was about to swallow him up whole. he couldn't run, that wouldn't be right. Right?
A soft knock. No answer. He paused and knocked slightly louder. ".... 'e-..... 'ello?"
It took a few knocks to rouse her "Allo un momente" she called groggily and pushed sorely to sit and pulled her gi topp around her , she winced when she put her feet on the floor and then slowly hobbled tot he door "ow ow ow" she whimpered softly to herself as she pulled the door open looking at the person there with her now golden eyes
Although he was generally unfazed by the response, Alec took a few large steps back when he heard someone hobble to answer the door just as he'd almost given in and left. He could hardly recognize the woman behind the door as being familiar, holding a firm grip on either arm as he stood wearily and edgy outside. "Uh..." He suddenly felt very out of place, embarassed that he might've misinterpretted the noise for some sort of sick play or something. "Ah ye... ekay? A' mean... a 'eard a scream o' somethin... A' mean... sorreh t'botheh..." The teen's voice stuttered like a broken record and he almost looked like he was going to make a run for it.
She blinked a few times her yellow tongue flickered, she knew that face... but it had changed. "Non... " she paused getting in some sort of frame of mine to reply, one hand rubbing her sore shoulder. "The red haired gormless arse gave me an injection" she scowled a low hiss emenating from her as she bit the words off a little . and then she stopped and looked at him again "Alec... oui?" she would have sighed but she felt like she was unable to draw the type of breath required for that
Alec was surprised at the sound of his name, moreso her accent that seemed all too familiar. "Ye..." It took a moment for him to register what was going on but from what it looked like, the woman had recently changed, hence the onset of pain.
Her identity suddenly hit him and he felt a wave of relief, a save from yet another embarassing situation. This must be the french femme from the caf, Joli. But how did she recognize him so easily after so much change? They both looked like they'd been through the ringer since that first meeting.
A grimace before he continued. "Yeck, sorreh t'ear tha'.... ye need anehthin?" He realized he was holding food that she might need more than him at that point, always feeling the urge to offer somesort of comfort to a newly-changed victim.
"I will be ok..." she looks at her hands for a moment and down at herself "feet are what changed most, not full change" she touched her face "nothing different here" she didn't know her eyes had changed in color though she did notice the color difference. She glanced over her shoulder at her sleeping boyfriend then stepped out of the duplex moving to pull the door shut behind her. "I see you have changed... Sorry you got stuck here too"
The irish kid followed suit and moved away from the door, though he wasn't sure why since he hadn't gotten a glimpse of the slumbering pile of fur that was Chubbs inside. He continued with the conversation instead, waving off her sympathy. "A' is'ekay. Nuthin ye c'n do 'bout i', aye?" He tried to crack a smile but he wasn't relaxed enough to allow his teeth to fully show from behind his lips.
In an attempt to redirect the attention away from himself, he moved on. "'ou've changed a lo'. A' think. No' bad though, s'don' worreh 'bout i'." He made a laid-back gesture at the comment, somewhat thankful that Joli wasn't freaking out any over her transformation.
"No, nothing" she glanced over him taking in his appearance. She heard his comment about her change and leaned against the doorframe a hand moving to her tail "Not so bad..." she repeated "I dont like it at all" her tongue flickered
Alec couldn't help himself and leaned to the side to get a better look at her 'appendage', not understanding why someone could hate being turned into a dinosaur. "Ah, c'mon ye look cool." He went ahead and laughed at his own retort, figuring after that possibly girls didn't enjoy being turned into the things their purses and boots were made of. He could relate to that, oddly enough. Seeing as she wasn't looking to be easily won over by compliments, he hesitantly added. "'ave seen worse?"
I've seen much worse, but being turned from a vegan into the biggest carnivore lizard is not how I wanted to live my life" She shakes her head and looks at him "Uhm, any idea what you are becoming?" she made no effort to hide her jaggedy teeth as she spoke
The fact that his attempts to cheer her up were failing horribly made Alec return to gnawing on his beef jerky instead of adding much to the conversation. That was until the spotlight was deflected back to him once again. "Uh.. sum... sorta shawk a' think." His response didn't bother him as much as his own uncertainty did but he wasn't about to start down that path right now. "A d'neh though wi' this stoof." The punk teen shrugged and rubbed his rough, dry elbows as he spoke. The question was enough to quiet him down until he merely gnawed on the jerky and said nothing more.
She nods "have you been doing ok since we last met?" she slid down to sit on the ground her feet hurting too much to stand at that moment. She adjusted her tail to be comfortable as she watched him
Alec nodded and watched her sit down, feeling compelled to mimic the movement. "Ye, 'am alrigh'. No' too bad yanno." He slid down and sat in the grass a few feet from both Joli and the duplex, crossing his legs with a bit of effort seeing as his knee joints weren't as pliable as he would've liked. After a moment of thought, he gave in and pointed to his pointy protrusions while referring to his change. "Th'... teeth hur'." Chuckling a bit, he took another bit of jerky and popped it into his mouth. His change took place so long ago that it seemed like forever. Exactly how long had he been in this place? He never kept track.
"I can relate, a lot" she motioned a long claw at the jaggedy teeth in her own mouth. "Right now though it's my feet that hurt" she closed her eyes and relaxed soaking up the sun's warmth "He's sick, truely he is, to do this to people and seem to get pleasure out of it..."
Alec visibly cringed as he listened quietly to what Joli had to say, reaching back to scratch at the grey skin of his neck out of nervous habit. "Ye.." He could only manage to curtly agree, not wanting to particularly go into detail how much he despised the man he'd only met once before. He was always watching, apparently. Better safe than sorry.
"We'll ge' off th's place soon." He quietly sighed for the sake of attempted optimism.
"I dont have a lot of hope in that but we'll see, we honestly will. " She gave him a weak smile "I should get something to eat, best way to control the Komodo.. want to join me?" she moved to stand up
Alec started to respond with his mouth full of the dried meat he'd been snacking on for awhile now, "Pphhalloophoo." He tried swallowing and all was well until he turned a slighty more pronounced shade of blue searching desperately for something to drink. Finding nothing, he hacked a cough to clear his throat and shook his head sheepishly. "Neh th'nks. Joost been theh'."
"Ouch" she righted herself to her feet "Oh ok well perhaps another time anyways" She glanced at the door "Uhm I think I'll let him sleep... I hope I didn't worry you too much"
Alec suddenly became aware of the other person who was evidently inside the duplex, leaning to the side on his sitting position only to glance up at Joli as she stood. "Boyfrehn'?" He smiled, liking the idea that there were people around who didn't care about looks. "Ah neh, am glad ye alrigh'." With that, the teen rose and stretched out his back. "A'll see ye 'round. Take care." He offered a wave and moved to continue his previous course back to his duplex.
Joli smiled "Okay, see you again" she watched him leave and then places a scaley hand on a pole and closed her eyes, "Why does the cafeteria need to be so far away" she mumbled softly to herself in french, she was hungry but her feet were killing her, "Damn that arse"
Chubbs yawned as he woke up , it almost sounded like a roar when he stretched and smacked his lip together. Looking around with a sniff, he realised Joli was here not to long ago, and others he wasn't sure about. Slipping on a shirt, he peered around the duplex and eventually stuck his head out the door. There he met the familiar sight of the armed guard waiting for him. Chubbs contemplated asking the man if Joli had gone by but he remembered the guy wouldn't talk. So Chubbs peered down the path and saw a familiar sexy shape that he enjoyed looking at, and with a grin chased after her with a guard not long behind.
Joliette trudged rather slowly towards the cafeteria, hobbling some, she didn't hear him approaching her from behind, and wasn't really paying attention for scents either at the time. Her arms wrapped around her torso as she moved
Chubbs slid to a halt behind Joliette and wrapped his arms around her in a hug and grinned. He liked how she felt against him, he also enjoyed hugging.
" Well hello there beautiful, where were we running off to hmm?"
He smiled his disturbing smile and ran a hand through her hair. Joliette started stiffening only until she heard his voice "David... you scared me" she said and then turned her head to look up at him with golden colored eyes. She gave him a soft smile "Sleep well?" she asked knowing he'd slept right though moreaus visit, hell if he'd been awake moreau would likely have several large gouges in him if her guess was correct
Chubbs hadn't really noticed the changes until Joliette looked up at him, it was a little shocking, but he didn't show it. He rubbed her cheek softly with a clawed paw and brushed her hair away from her face
" So did the island get a tanning salon?"
He smiled a little, trying to get her to smile back.
She smiled weakly at him "No, not unless you call the red haired arse I've heard so much about and finally got to meet a tanning salon" she leaned her had slightly into his hand, it was comforting being around him, in all senses she did feel safer around him
" Red head?.. who ya talkin about love?"
Chubbs forrowed his brow and walked around to face her fully. He was distracted a moment by the guy that had been following them standing at a bit of a distance away. Chubbs rubbed Joliette's shoulders and looked her over, he wanted to be sure she was alright. "Moreau..." she said leaning against him slightly shifting on her hurting feet "ouch" she mumbled as she did "he came for a .... visit" she finished and told him her tongue flickering a couple times
Chubbs looked over Joliette's shoulder at the guard once more at the mention of Moreau, hoping that guy hadn't been apart of it. Hugging Joliette to him he petted her back and sighed.
" I'm sorry hun, hope at least he didn't hurt ya"
"He gave me what he called a booster shot, and it did hurt, right now it's my feet that hurt the most though" she didn't notice the guard, or at least made no mention of it.
Chubbs leaned down and kissed her forehead and then gently bent down to pick her up in his arms. With a smile he winked at her and adjusted her body in his arms.
" Well lucky ya got yaself a prince to the rescue huh?"
"My prince in furry armor, he is so brave" she chuckled and leaned up kissing his chin "I have to say I'm glad I'm not much bigger then I am, I fit nicely in your arms" she nodded "just one of my feelings I guess"
Chubbs chuckled and smiled, nuzzling his cheek to Joli's and hugging her close. He was glad too that Joliette was so small and cuddly, she felt good in his arms.
" Well my dear princess, allow me to escort you to your destination"
With that, Chubbs began to walk past the duplexes.
"That would be food, before the Komodo takes over in that desire" she nods and poits a clawed finger in the direction of the town hall "it seems to be hte best way to control it... you know what I mean?" she wasn't sure if he did, but such was life she supposed.

Wolfman Surprise Joliette found her days filled with nothing but soaking up the sun's rays or hiding in her darkroom trying to continue her ... profession... now becoming a hobby which in itself was discouraging, her large claws were not helping matters at all. This day she lay on the beach on her belly her arms crossed under her chin as she stared out to sea wondering what her family was doing. her hair pulled in a loose pony tail she wore loose shorts and a light tshirt.
Nothing, as of yet, had succeeded in sinking the amazing mood that Ambrose had been in since his proposal. He was seeing the silver lining of even the most foreboding storms. And his good mood was begging to be shared with others.
He had just made his way out to the beach after filling his stomach on tasty meats from the cafeteria and lifted his muzzle to see if he might have more company. His ears pricked when he detected a distinct reptilian odor, female, and the faint smell of film developing chemicals. No one but Joli.
It had been a while since he had seen the journalist. She had been there at one of the drinking parties, right? But before that... the lockout. She had been in a bad way there. At least.... she seemed to have recoupterated since then. With a canine grin he dropped lower, his tail wagging eagerly. Somethin in him clicked that it would be a good idea to surprise her wtih his presence.
Treading carefully on the sand, Ambrose quietly made his way up behind her.
Joliette let her mind wander the faint breeze that came into her nose from out over the open water, her hearing wasn't so hot, especially for low tones and she didn't hear his approach. She'd been pondering her time since she had arrived, all the people she'd met whom she'd have never met under any other circumstances and what had come for each of them
Ambrose smiled to himself as her pose and scent suggested that she was unaware of his presence. Goaded, Ambrose continued to creep slowly towards her. Then, when he was in jumping range, his grin spread wider and then, without notice, Ambrose sprung, tackling Joli.
Her now golden eyes went wide at the weight of the wolfman landing on her, her body went somewhat rigid. Last person to have surprised her so much had been David... "Wha!?!?" she attempted to roll to see who or what was on her, her tail lashed some in the process
"HI JOLI!" Ambrose boomed, his tail lashing from side to side. "Gotcha!" He grinned self-satisfactorily. While he couldn't peg what gave him the bright idea to do so, he couldn't help but admit seeing Joli startled was a wonderful reward. It made his tail wag.
Pushing himself off of her, he dusted himself off and then offered her a hand.
"A..ambross" she said trying to regain her senses to herself. She finished rolling and her tongue flickered "Yes.. you most certainly did" she took the offered hand with her own trying to be careful not to dig her claws into his .. paw. Her golden eyes searching him for signs of what could be exciting the wolfman so.
He grinned. "Sorry for the startling, Joli. I... well... you just seemed to be so caught in your own little world! So.. uhm... I thought I'd pull you out of it?" He spread his hands after pulling her to her feet, with a playful-apologetic look.
"How have you been..? I haven't seen much of you lately. Though I admit I haven't been the most social of people lately."
"I guess I was off in another world, just thinking about things. I been spending time in the sun or in the darkroom. And you? I haven't seen you since hat beach drinking game" She tipped her head slightly and brushed the sand off her belly
Ambrose plopped back down onto the sand, looking up at her, his gold-stained eyes looking over her features with an understanding look. "I've.... been spending time with Angelina ... I... I proposed!" His chest puffed out and his back straightened. "I procured a ring through the labs... with the money they still technically owed me from that whole "Two week" medical study and got a ring. I guess I finally realized that I have to work with what I've been given."
A brow raised slightly "Proposed? Wow.. I do presume she said yes.." this did explain to her what he looked so happy about. She slowly sat back down her feet flat ont eh sand and legs bent, her tail wrapped loosely around her
He nodded, his tail wagging back and forth in emphasis. "She did! I... well.... I was pretty certain that she would, but that doesn't take away any of the anxiety I felt in the buildup... or the happiness that I felt when she DID say yes."
He sighed, wrapping his arms around his knees. "How about you and Chubbs? How have you guys been doing - it's been a while since I Saw him - after my last change, actually...."
"Well then... let me offer my congratulations then, some good news on this wretched island... finally" She gave him a toothy smile but for answering his own question "Doing good I think, though somehow I don't see proposals in my near future, after all you and Angelina have known each other for a long time..." her eyes drifted over his appearance, she tried to picture in her mind what he looked like before the island, and she could only think of what was a good possibility from what he looks like when she first arrived
He beamed a response. "Thank you, Joli! And be certain, you'll get an invitation! Maybe you can be the photographer for the wedding. I'm certain that it will be an event that we'll want remembered... and I can't think of anyone better. It would be preferable than the awkward requests to the labs of footage or stills from the hidden cameras." He winced a smile.
"And... I'm glad to hear that. I wish the two of you the best of luck. You're good people, and I think everyone deserves happiness like that."
"I'd love to photograph it" her smile grew at that thought... finally a use for her skills... she'd yet to fin a good purpose or use on the isle. "When do you think it'll be?"
Ambrose laughed. "That... is a good question. We need to figure out the details... and I... I don't know where to even begin. I've never planned a wedding before. That and here time seems to get lost. I don't know if I ought to wait until after....." He looked down at his hands. "I.... change again. I... have one more... maybe it would give Angelina time to ... get used to me and I can be the man I will always be when I marry her. And... for fittings' sake of a suit. I'm ... I don't know how much more I CAN change, and that frightens me that there's supposed to be one left." He breathed, finally, at the end of his verbal brain-dumping. "And then.... I guess it's a matter of finding when we can get everything pulled together. I guess I could... ask the labs when my change is due... but that feels horribly morbid...."
Joli nodded through his self debates, planning a wedding could be tough even for the most... normal of people, she couldn't imagine it for all of them
"But!" He breathed. "I... well, I'm looking forward to it. Even if I Don't know what I'm doing. Though, traditionally I suppose that most of it will be in Angelina's hands. I just... wow, I spent so much time putting together the evening I would engage that I haven't thought much beyond that." He admitted
Joliette chuckled softly "I can only imagine... hopefully noone changes on that special day, I know the ones I've went through, even the .. 'booster' shot I didn't want to do much after let alone celebrate and it'd be awful if something was to spoil your special occasion" she nodded firmly
He nodded. "Dear lord... changing ON the wedding day.... that would be a nightmare..." He whispered. As much as he wanted to try to do this by themselves, the labs would have to be contacted and .... worked with. Even if they didn't want anything imported, which they almost definitely would unless there was a wedding dress maker or suit maker on the island itself.
He paused, cocking his head. "Booster... shot? What do you mean?"
"The gormeless red-headed arse decided to come into mine and David's duplex one morning, two of his guard flunkies woke me by pinning me down and he gave me a shot... he called it a booster shot, and well.. " she pointed at herself "this was the result" she poked her claw at the brown scales on her arms her eyes looking at them as she did
Ambrose looked more critically at her scaling. "Brown.... they were green before... weren't they?" he licked his black lips thoughtfully. "That is... odd. I've never heard of that before, the only changes I've been through are the ... well.... the big ones. Were there any other changes? And... I wonder why? Was it an actual change, just a minor one...? And.... how have you been doing with... it all?"
"Uhm my feet changed a lil, I think somethings inside changed but I dont know for sure and my eyes changed" she leaned on her knees and looked at him "Why I don't know, he didn't exactly say.. only told me to relax and to consider it a booster shot" she paused "Then he hung around for the changes he caused to finish and I wound up.. asleep... again"
Ambrose peered into the woman's amber eyes, then nodded to himself. "I wonder why they did that.... And the color change is certainly odd. Maybe there was a problem - if it was a booster? Well... regardless.... maybe... it will help things in the long run. I am not certain, but you said that you had been having... issues before. Maybe that has something to do with it. I Heard.... when Aubrey was hurt and several of us lost time... it was because they were testing something to help with the... mental problems some of us have been having. Maybe it has something to do with that?"
"I suppose anything is really possible, and I hope it is for the better, well I would imagine it's the better in their opinion, better to me would be to wake up and find this all a bad dreams.. no luck of that though... has Angelina changed?" she'd not seen the woman in a while and couldn't honestly recall
He nodded. "I used to entertain the illusion that this was all just a dream for likely a few months into my internment here... but every day, I'd wake up and the brush of fur against the sheets or feeling my tail would dissolve that notion pretty quickly... As did the notion that perhaps the changes would only go so far. They've proved themselves able to bend all possibility here."
He nodded seriously. "She... yes... she finally did about a few weeks ago. We thought.... well, it was strange - having gone so long - almost wanting to hope she wouldn't change, but being worried all the same that something would make her sick because of it... or that she would become something other than what they said that she would become initially. She also felt... ironically out of place here - worried that people would resent her for remaining human. But now.... she's "one of us...""
Joliette nodded "Will have to see her some day, before you get married perhaps" she smiled wryly and paused for a few minutes. "What brought you out this direction today? seemed quiet for the most part till now, I guess that's how one gets lost in ones thoughts"
He grinned. "Perhaps you can help her arrange all that... female stuff. You're a journalist, I'm sure you had to talk about who people were wearing, fashion an all that, right? I bet she'd have fun girl-talking with someone about that."
He shrugged. "On the days that the sun isn't QUITE as hot, the beach is quite pleasant. And... regardless of the temperatures, it's beautiful."
"Yeah... I'll drop her a line at some point, that sounds like a nice change of pace..." she peered around "I don't know.. the sun back home wasn't much after all it was England, here though.. I kinda like the heat, but then again thats probably the Komodo in me.. "
Ambrose nodded. "With me... while beautiful... The heat is starting to get to me. I love the beach, but sometimes I almost prefer the shade of the forests.... or even the AC in the buildings. My ... fur isn't made for this sort of climate.."
"Sometimes I wish that was the case but only coolness I want to feel is the darkness's cool, the air conditioner is not kind to me anymore" she flopped back on the sand looking up at the sky "oh well..."
He nodded. "Well... at least you're better suited for the climate. Not that I'm complaining about the.... animal I was paired with, but... I sometimes wish that they could have at least picked a location with set seasons."
"Yes I've noticed there really isn't anything set here, cept rain and sun, what season do you miss the most Amborsse?" she turned her head to look towards him she didn't envy his fur at all
"About the weather... or about home in general?" He asked, his tone becoming more somber
"Well you wished we had set seasons, I thought perhaps you had a particular one in mind when you said that" she frowns some and rolls onto her belly once more
"Ahhhh, yes. I miss... well damn. Fall for the changing leaves. The whole East Coast used to turn golden, orange and red... it was beautiful. The breeze, a snap in the air, but nothing frigid.... Though perhaps it's just being in the heat so long, I wouldn't mind a damn cold snap. I never thought I'd miss snow after shoveling it... but I do now."
Joliette chuckled softly "A little fog wouldn't hurt either" she mused "snowmen on the beach, iceburg in the lake" she smiled a silly smile at that "Theres no real season I miss except winter, mainly cause of what takes place in tht time frame... well what took place"
He grinned, displaying a lovely set of sharp teeth. "That would be something to see. Though I'm sure that you and many of the other reptiles would be rather put out by the change of... temperature. But I suppose that it would be a fair trade for at least a little bit, yes?" He chuckled.
"Yeah, bundle up, I can picture wearing many layers, least some of the time" she eyes his teeth, well she knew she wasn't alone in being a carnivore now at least
"Well..... I can picture it all I like.... but unless Moreau can control the weather as well, I doubt we'll be seeing as much as a snowflake."
"There isn't much I'd put by that arse after this" she hissed slightly motioning them both "nothing would shock me anymore"
He shrugged. "Well... I have to hold onto some semblance of normalcy.... even as we change into beasts.... or plants... at least we're still us... we're still in the same world as crazy as it might be, and it still operates under the same principals... "
"I know..." she paused and looked down at the sand "I remember what you said when we were locked out, and i know that hasn't changed, least I feel a little more in control now, unlike then"
"I am genuinely glad to hear that, Joli. Do you think it is the ... "booster"..? Or.... have you some other method of restraining the .... more bestial impulses...? I... remember the day you came into my camp. I saw the look in your eyes, and Joli - I am glad that despite the fact that time has found you less human in appearance, it has found you more human in mind."
"I gave up fighting the desire to eat meat, even moreso now since veggies aren't really agreeing with me... I guess I wasn't entirely myself out there, I've been trying to not let it happen again, hopefully it remains that way. And for that I'm glad too" she stretched on the sand what might seem like a yawn should be right about there never came "I think it's time for this Komodo to go have a nap"
Ambrose nodded, gave her a few pats on the shoulder. "I've noticed that my ... impulses seem more frequent the less I've eaten.... at least the more... bothersome ones. For my sanity, I try not to chronicle the less... disturbing ones and just go with the flow - keeping what's important to me." He stood up, stretching and shaking off the loose sand.
"I shall leave you to your rest, then. Sorry for taking up your time." He smiled.
"You are a friend Ambrose... taking up my time is a welcome thing, I dont mind the company" she too stood up brushing some sand off then pausing and peering at him, her tongue flickered and she nodded "I'll drop Angelina a note later" she said with a decisive nod before turning and heading towards the village

Destruction Perhaps dwelling alone in the jungle wasn't such a good idea, perhaps giving in to her inner beast was even worse. But regardless the choices she made or let herself make, the Komodo controlled a lot of her day to day activities. She found it more and more difficult as time went by to play in her darkroom and thus was there less and less often. If one were to look they may even find the remenants of her last attempt which resulted in several photos punctured in many places by her claws.
Regardless of this though Joliette, the person shone through the darkness which was the beast. On one such occassion she decides to go visit her original duplex, she had the intent to visit the one which had been David's too later that day. She sits best she can on the floor next to the made bed, closing her eyes she just thinks, thinks about everything she could remember happening. She opens her eyes and looks up it was getting much like it was when she first arrived outside.
She flipped through photos, puncturing many as she did, which she'd brought down from upstairs, they ranged from when she'd first arrived till the last she had done... Some time went by when she came to a realization, pickin up one ofhte first she'd taken in the village before she knew what was going on she walks to the door of the duplex and looks out comparing it and the area, sure some things had changed but one thing stayed distinctly obvious... it was the same season, the same time of year, which only spoke to her that it HAD been a year, or very close to it.
A single tear rolled down her cheek and the photos soon became a wadded up ball of paper in her hand. During her sorrow the beast took control once more, and not sorrow but anger soon took her over, beast-like rage. She drops the wadded up photo and lets her hand which had been resting on the door deeply gouge the door as it fell and then the beast got angrier, it was feeding on Joli's emotions.
Turning with a long low growl her eyes dart across the items the duplex housed, and with but a moments hesitation she was pushing things over, her claws deeply gouging everything, she made no efforts to stop as she moved through the duplex destroying everything in her path. The matress, pillows and bedding soon bearing tears and some parts even shredded, the carpet, the curtains, absolutely everything. It created a loud rucous, and the door was still wide open, but the Komodo didn't care it had to let it's anger out and this was it's venue to do so... And the Komodo showed no signs of calming...
