Kalia awoke for a moment and felt her body screaming at her in pain, she almost smiled at the familiarity of the situation, not conscious of what she had done this time, she drifted back into unconscious, I'll take care of it when I wake up... was her last thought, because after all, it's not like anyone else would...

Kia opened the door to the room. Kalia was still out of it. Seemed like she would be after a while. Why didn't she seem to heal as fast as himself? A question to be answered later. Carrying the box of blood, Kia flopped it onto a nightstand that had somehow survived the mess. He checked on her bandages, as they where already bleeding through. The bandages from the kit were gone now, so he ripped the sheet of the bed into strips. He had to use a piece of broken metal from a piece of furniture that got busted up, but soon he had the bandages. Wrapping the bandages around the old ones, Kia prayed he was doing it correctly. He wasn't one to go treating other people, especially not when their this bad. He tied it tightly, so as to stop the bleeding in her arm. He knew he couldn't go too tight, or he would be making a tourniquet, but he didn't know how tight was too tight. Finishing that up in some time, he realized how tired he was. Checking Kalia over for any other signs of injury, besides the bruises, he was satisfied with his work. It would just have to do. His eyes felt heavy again. He figured he would close them for but a moment before attending to Kalia's wounds more. Soon, Kia fell forwards, slowly. He rested his head on Kalia's stomach, falling asleep with a blood bag in his mouth. He seemed so peaceful, free of worries when he slept. No nightmares pursued him this time. Kia didn't even realize he was asleep.

Kalia slowly woke as the early morning light slipped over the windowsill of her room... but she hadn't slept in her own bed since Kia... She looked over at the room it was destroyed, furniature broken, blood everywhere. She sighed a few days worth of cleaning, she wondered for a moment how she was still alive, and realised she didn't care, she was just happy to be alive. She took a moment to gently finger comb Kia's hair from where his head lay on her stomach and bit back a smile at the thick wad of bandaging around her arm, blood soaked as it was.
She leaned forward slowly letting his head slide into her lap, "Wake up..." she whispered into his ear, her voice like wind blowing through the autumn leaves.

Kia groaned at the sound. He was tired and didn't want to move. "Let me sleep for a few more moments mom." He mumbled. He didn't even realize his head was moved from where it last rested. He also still had a blood pack in his mouth, mostly empty. The light peeked through his eyelids, casting his vision in a light red. Morning was already here. He had slept through the rest of the night. Birds outside could be heard clearly, as the window no longer existed. It was just an empty frame now. Slowly, Kia opened his eyes, as he groaned again. "Were are we?" He noticed the room, covered in red stuff. It smelled like blood. Funny? He never use to be able to smell blood before? When did that happen? Feeling something plastic in his mouth, Kia started to sit up. He was kneeling on the floor next to the bed. His arms propped his body on top of the bed, while his head rested on Kalia's lap now. Blushing a little realizing he had slept on top of Kalia, he kept his head turn away from her. He also realized he had a bag in his mouth. With half awake eyes, he continued to look around the room. It was a mess. Glass was everywhere, as well as blood and broken furniture. The events from last night flowed into his head. "We certainly see a lot of action, don't we?" Kia stated. He tried to get up, but his legs protected. They ached from being in odd positions for so long. "Ah," Kia exclaimed. "I think I'm stuck."

Kalia slipped off to the side and helped pull him up onto the bed beside her, "More action the I want..." she said and turned to slip off the edge of the bed, "We meet the Council today..." she said, "And I'm gonna get a shower in before that," she said slowly unwinding the bandages from her arm, the lower crustier layers finally peeled off to reveal a thick deep gash covered with faint pink skin so whisper thin a fragile even looking at it might tear it.
Kalia slid off the bed and her legs crumpled beneath her, she used the edge of her bed to lever herself up, "I'm good... I'm good..." she said waving off his concern, "I'm going to get this gore off of me... and I don't think you want to help me take a shower..." she said hiding a smile at his furious blush, "So I suggest you let me handle this on my own..." she said and made her way to the bathroom, painfully slowly and carefully but on her own two feet. The door shut and the sound of running water could be heard.

Kia tried to help her, but she refused. His concern must have been showing on his face, as well as a blush. "I'll.. I'll just stay here." He stampered out. Why was he so nervous? Normally he was collected and composed around girls! Now that Kalia was doing better, Kia finally got a chance to look at himself. His shirt was ruined, again. Three slash marks marred the front, with blood stains covering the inside. So he striped it off. There was no point in keeping the shirt on. His shorts where covered as well, and his boxers probably where too from the looks of things. He just couldn't keep good clothing around anymore! He check his chest. Not even a mark on it. He could recall the claw hitting him now, and the pain, but there wasn't a mark on him. Besides the blood stains, he looked as healthy as he could be. Grabbing a bag from the box, he sank his fangs into it. When did it get so easy to do this? He shuddered. The thought still gave him the chills, but when you needed something, you needed something. He felt like thinking it was an oddly tasting milkshake. He sat on the bed, contemplating. He would have to call the shower next, after raiding the clothing supply again for a pair of boxers... and pants. Looks like he needed a shirt too. Couldn't meet the council shirtless. Something told him that just wouldn't do.

Kalia wrapped a towel around her and exited the bathroom; she took one look at her decimated closet and headed for the spare room with the wardrobes. Something without sleeves and formal, there was only one outfit she could think of and Cristia had given it to her so it was... special. Kalia sighed and went to go get it before heading to the downs stairs bathroom to change, she had monopolized the upstairs one for lone enough.
Kalia paused to smooth the skirt down hoping it would somehow manage to cover another several inches in that simple motion, but it didn't. A fitted leather dress that buttoned the entire way up, the skirt cut off at about mid thigh with tiny slits to supposedly help with walking. A collar buttoned up covering her throat which was still darkly bruised, while leaving her arms bare. She sat on the table to pull on the matching boots. Skin tight and coming easily up to her knees she sighed, at least some of her legs were covered though not as she was used to. She stood back up and walked a few careful steps find the heels not too high, but close.

Kia finished the blood bag as he waited. Hearing the sounds of Kalia leaving the showers, he walked out of the room. He was shirtless, but that wasn't a problem. His first spot of business was the supply closet, as he scrounged for more clothing. Luckily for him, there was a small section of boxers, either that or shorts that would work well for the job. He then grabbed a pair of simple shorts and a plain sleeveless black shirt. Taking the clothing, he then meandered into the top floor bathroom for his own shower. The steam from Kalia's shower was still hanging in the air, but it felt nice on the skin. Closing the door, Kia stood in front of the mirror a moment. Rubbing of some of the steam, he looked at himself. He looked like the normal Kia, covered in blood, but normal. Nothing seemed out of place. No marks, mars or bruises. Nothing. He wished that Kalia was as lucky. Why did he heal so much faster? For the first time, Kia looked into his mouth. He really did have fangs! They looked as pointed as the felt too. Doing a quick arm flex to look at his own image, Kia felt stronger now than he had in days. Amazing what a few bags of blood would do for him. Unfortuntly, there wasn't any more bags left in the box. He had finished them all while waiting for Kalia. He stopped his count at three... but he knew he had gorged on more than that. This was the most blood he had in him for some time. It felt... exhilarating! He flexed his arm one more time, marveling at how strong he was. He felt like he could probably break the wooden frame of the bed in the other room, instead of just cracking it part way. His arms seemed scrawny, but they had strength. Well, enough marveling one self, time for a good shower to remove the caked on dried blood. He smelled like the other room still... he smelled of blood. Stripping down, he turned the water to hot. He felt like washing away all the bad things in his life so far. He wanted to see his family again. But more importantly, he wanted to be near Kalia... when did that feeling happen? She was good looking and all. Rather cute in her own way. The way her hair fell on her shoulders. The spark in her eyes when she was angry. Everything about her was... attractive. Realizing what he was thinking, Kia dove his head into the steaming hot shower water. The heat felt like enough to burn his skin! Jumping out of the water, he felt it might be prudent to turn on some cold now. This was too hot. He dared not look down as he washed, as the water going down the drain was red. Even his hair was hard in spots from splashed on blood.

Kalia knocked lightly on the door to her room, when she heard nothing she entered cautiously and realised the sound of the shower was still going, "Kia," she called over the sound of the water, "I've got something for you when you're done..." she said her thumb gentle rubbing a small crystal charm on the end of a silver chain. It was a charm, the symbol of her protection over who ever was wearing it, considering where they were heading she thought he might need it.

Kia was too deep in his thoughts, and didn't hear Kalia over the shower. At this point, he was scrubbing at his skin, trying to get the last of the blood off. He felt like he had taken a bath in the stuff. He didn't even know how much was his and how much was... well.. best left not thought of. Even after the blood was gone, he still scrubbed down more. He could still smell it on himself. It was driving him crazy with the smell of it. His shower stretched onwards, oblivious of whatever Kalia was trying to do in the other room. The running water was making Kia felt good, as he liked the heat as it ran over his body.

Kalia found a wing-backed on the far side of the room from the disaster that had been spared the blood and gore bath the rest of the room had received she sat in it to wait, and after a few minutes she tucked her feet were tucked up beside herand her head slipped to rest on one of the wings as her eyes drifted shut. The crystal was still held loosely in her hand as she slept.

Kia turned off the water to the shower, toweling himself off and got dressed. He finally pick clothing that fit him almost perfectly. He just left the bloody rags that was once clothing on the floor. He didn't wish to touch them, as they reeked of the scent he just washed off himself. Combing his hair, and observing how the clothing looked on him, Kia eventually got out of the bathroom. He felt refreshed and clean again. After the last two days, this was probably the cleanest he felt. Walking by the messed up room, Kia spotted Kalia sitting in a chair. Stepping in, he saw what she was dressed in. He blushed, as her skirt was up rather high. Her thighs showed more than Kia would have preferred, but at the same time, he liked it. However, he forced himself to look up. His face was reddened by this point, and he hoped Kalia would think it was from the heat of the shower, not some other thoughts... Then he noticed she was asleep again. Should he wake her up? When did they need to leave? Kia had no idea, but didn't want to wake her to find out. He would be willing to pass out information from his past if he could just let her sleep. Tip toeing to the bed, Kia sat down quietly. She looked so peaceful when she slept. She looked like she didn't have a care in the world, or like all the burdens she carried vanished in her dreams. At least one of them could dream without it turning into nightmares. Kia sat there, looking at her face. He couldn't help himself any more.

Kalia heard another heart beat but recognize d it immediately and instead of jumping to her feet ready to fight she slowly opened her eyes and stretched with a yawn, before smoothing her skirt back down a little self consciously, "Sorry..." she said rising but pushing her self up on the arms of the chair to set herself on her feet. She swayed slightly as her legs got used to the weight again, "I have something for you..." she said opening her hand to show the carved crystal on the long silver chain.

Kia turned a bright shade of red when she moved. He had been staring at her face, and he wondered if she knew. Instead, he turned his head quickly to the side. When she spoke, he turned his head again, avoiding her eyes. "For me? Really?" The room reeked of blood, and his drive to drink was rising again. "I think we need to leave this room.. and soon..." He did looked at her hand and saw the crystal pendent. It was very interesting. He grabbed the hand that she held the crystal in, and stood up off the bed. "Let me help you. Your still week from last night..." He took a moment to think, "And don't pretend that your not. Your weaving as you stand." He took her other hand, and tried to take some weight off her feet. She needed more rest. Kia wished there was more time for her to sleep off the attack. She was still in bad shape. Now he would have to be the one to protect her. He had to be strong!

Kalia sighed and let him support some of her weight, "Alright..." she said letting him lead her out of the room. Once the door was shut behind them she turned to face him and had to reach up her arms to hook the necklace around his neck, "This is my marker..." she said tapping the crystal with her fingernail, "It has been soaked in my blood and when you wear it everyone will know you are under my protection..." she said, "So don't take it off..." she warned gently.
