Cassie grimaced as she watched him pick out the splinters. "well i came from a rich family, but my mom died when i was young, and my dsad stopped caring about me after that. he married a young woman for her looks and money and I was left alone. I didn't make friends at school and every time my stepmother had even one second alone with me she always made me feel miserable, unwanted, and I felt like i was worth nothing more than a disrag to her. she's scrub dirt in my face and throw me away. and my dad didn't care. I know that he knew what was going on but he didn't even bat an eye. he hated me too cause i looked like my mom and he'd abuse me. then my stepmother wanted to send me to boarding school and they shipped me off but somewhere along the way i got transported to the lab and you know the rest of the story." Cassie said softly. she looked up at him. "But you- you're make me feel like i'm actually loved. like theres actually a reason for living. I thought that my light had been extinguished when my mom died but you managed to light me back up."

"Verbal and physical." Cassie closed her eyes as talking about it made her remember. she sighed and opened her eyes. "I'd rather try and forget about it." she rubbed her arm and looked at the ground.

Julius thought for a moment and then suddenly punched the tree so hard it fell. "No on takes my happiness and no one hurts my dear sweet Cassie." he said as he hugged her.
[i gtg now it's like 5:30 AM here and i have to go out to lunch tomorrow.]

Cassie shook her head. "No, I don't want that." she said softly. she took his hands and threaded her fingers through his. "That was the past, and its better just to forget it and move on." She locked eyes with him. "I do NOT want you getting your hands dirty with them for my sake! Can't it be enough to just-"Cassie couldn't finish. her thought ended abruptly and she couldn't think of anything to finish it.

"umm.." Cassie sighed. "-to just... start over? I mean, we can do that, together and.... we can just fix our problems. but not-" she gripped his hands tighter, unsure of herself and worried about his reaction. "-not through revenge." she looked down at the ground. she momentarily forgot where she was and for a second, she was infront of her father, cringing already before the blow came, becasue she knew he would hit her. Cassie snapped back to reality. It was Julius she was talking to, not her father. *Don't be scared, Cassie!* she knew this but kept her head down.

Cassie let out a sigh. she looked up at him. she wasn't exactly pleased but she hadn't expected any more from him. she put a smile on her face and nodded. *See, nothing to worry about, but i didn't tell him about that....* Cassie wouldn't tell him unless she had to and only if they were in Japan or somewhere else far away. Cassie gave him a kiss. *What happened to him?* she wondered.

Cassie smiled, this time a real smile. her Julius was back. "Alright." they rounded the hill and walked into the town.
