Martel looked around and stopped suddenly. "That there." She pointed at a rock wall. "It's the entrance, hidden by a thin layer of man. It's casting an illusion." She walked over and passed her hand through the solid rock. "There is something back here."

"So do we leave the illusion up for the time being?" KoTari asked and inspected it. The illusion looked pretty realistic from farther away but now that they were close he could see some flaws.
Seraphiel remained close to Shady.

Shady's arm twitched and he tryed his best to ignore it...'Leave me alone...' He said in his head trying to focus on the task at hand...

Martel shook her head. "No, there must be a natural mana source somewhere nearby that is casting this image. We can simply walk through it, and the image will be undisturbed." She passed through what looked like solid rock and passed her hand back through it. "Everything is all clear on this side."

KoTari and Serapfiel looked at each other for a moment. They then both exchanged smiles and followed Martel through the illusion.
"I never thought there would be a shrine here of all places," KoTari commented.

"It seems out of place." Martel said and walked further into the hidden cave. Large marble posts began to peek out around the corner. Martel walked around the corner and looked at the ancient shrine. It looked untouched by time, as if it had only been built here a short time ago, and yet the style of the structure looked ancient. "It's... amazing." Martel said looking at the shrine in awe.

"I never would have thought something like this was here," KoTari mused. He was amazed that something of this magnitude could be hidden from view in such an amateurish way.

Martel smiled. "It certainly does seem out of place in here." She stepped forward between the marble columns, and immediately a barrier shot up between them, blocking off the entrance of the shrine. Martel turned around in shock. She walked over to the marble pillar and inspected it. "What? I can't seem to find anything that could have caused this." She walked over the the other pillar and inspected it as well. "There is absolutely nothing that could have caused this.
Sai jumped down from Martel's shoulder and ran over to the barrier. She pawed at the translucent energy, but stopped after being zapped. Sai got up slowly and shook her head. She morphed back to her original form and looked through the barrier at Shady. She just stood there, wishing she could get through. She looked down at her hand, it was burned a little.
Martel walked over to Sai. "Let me see your hand." Martel took out a healing balm and rubbed the solution over the burn. "That should make it feel better." Martel looked at KoTari. "I'm going to try and find a way around the barrier. There doesn't seem to be a way to remove it. I'm guessing it was a trap for looters or intruders of any kind." Without another word, Martel moved off quickly deeper into the shrine.

(Assuming my characters were blocked out of the shrine)
"We'll try and find a way around too," KoTari said and turned to Seraphiel, "Stay here with Shady, okay?"
"Arr..." Seraphiel looked like she was going to start complaining, but didn't actually say anything.
KoTari turned and went to look for another way in.

Shady waved to Sai a little as in a way to say 'See ya in a bit ok?' His arm flinched but he ignored the voice again...He smiled to Seraphiel...

(( yeh, I have been making martel a little bit of a go getter... xP sorry bout that... ))
Martel walked deeper into the shrine and found a tunnel. "I found a tunnel, but I'm not sure where it leads to." Martel said coming back to the barrier. "I wonder if maybe Efreet could break through this barrier." Martel looked at the fluctuating energy before her.

Martel smiled. "I think you may be too excitable at the moment to cast the right measure of magic. It's ok. I can summon Efreet and see if he can handle it." Martel touched the garnet gem on her staff and lifted it in the air, summoning Efreet with her thoughts. "What do you need?" Efreet asked. Martel smiled. "Efreet, is it posible that you can break through this barrier?" Efreet took one long look at the barrier and slammed his fist down, breaking straight through the energy. The barrier fluctuated a moment and the energy died down completely. Efreet disappeared once the task was done.
Seeing that the barrier was down, Sai ran over and clung to Shady, smiling. She was so happy she didn't even want to say anything.
(( awww, Sai really likes Shady... xD if he left and went off on his own, she'd probably follow him.... hehe ))

Seraphiel looked happy that the barrier was broken, but KoTari had already disappeared from view.
"He'll eventually come back I'm sure," Seraphiel told them, smiling.

(( I'm making some new characters... a brother and sister, and a pilot girl who can be a real mean little biatch.... xD o.o ))
Martel smiled. "I'm just glad that Efreet was capable of destroying that barrier. If not then I'm not sure what else I could have done." Martel looked back at the shrine. "There is a tunnel further in, it looks like it may lead to a secret burial chamber or something. I couldn't tell, but I was sure that it didn't lead back here."
