It's like a "take a picture of something" contest.
Host says an item ex. ( iPod, hoodie, d***o etc.) Contestants (guild members) takes a picture of said item BUT they must include a paper with their username written on it (to prove it is their own). They upload it to photobucket or whatever, posts it in the thread then first(few) person/people to post a picture of that item with their username clearly visible in it will win.
This will be an ongoing contest, one contest per week. (?) Idk but this is just an idea I got from another guild I was in. xD

elyzia Purple Flavered Neon I think we need to add an Advertising forum... I always see some people posting links to other tektek contests that are not in the guild in the Free Gold forum. 
Yeah, that issue in slightly shifting forms has existed in Burn for quite a while now.
Basically, an Advertising Forum is never going to be created. Why? Because:
1) It's like creating a "Commercial Channel" on TV. Nobody wants to watch a ******** TV channel that's all ads, all the time... Similarly, I can't see anyone wanting to browse a forum of such a nature. ( However , I've been thinking every once in a long while about creating some sort of "Gaia Jobs" forum here. The main problem with that though is that even though I thought of the idea totally independently of the Gaia Jobs guild, I certainly don't want to seem like I'm ripping them off or anything )
2) Even though Burn already has like, 18 bizzillion members, I still feel that it's only right & fair that at least a large amount of advertising of other threads/guilds in Burn be done by affiliation only (if you don't know what I'm talking about when I say "affiliation", think of, well, "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"... Although perhaps I could have chosen to explain that in a better way, lol). HOWEVER, I do feel like in certain instances with certain subforums -- like the Free Gold subforum issue thing that you mentioned -- stickies should be created in the respective subforums for the sole purpose of advertising/alerting others in any way of, if we're continuing using "Free Gold" as an example, a contest or giveaway or charity or whatever of yours that's located outside the guild. & of course in such stickies there would be no requirement that the threads advertise Burn in order to post there or anything.
Oh, yay, I'm SOOO glad you're crew now; that can totally be your first crew task! blaugh heart Haha yay crew-ness!! I'll make the sticky soon, but what should I do with the people who have already advertised? Should I just quote them in the new post and delete the topic, and notify the owner of the thread?

i think the guild needs SubForum about Earth ! going green ! and nature !
.. i didnt want to spend houers in making and creating a popular guild so i decided to join the EVERYTHING guild and try to help here
btw im online only Friday night +48houers after ! then BOOM ! i get back to learning xD

I would like to see a Subforum for One-on-One Counciling/Advice. I don't think that the little Thread in the "You" Forum, with the offer of contacting volunteer members" is a loud enough Welcome/Invite for our more needy Members. it isn't displayed prominently, and it doesn't offer a very enticing option. it just feels like an afterthought.
I'd gladly run it myself if I had to. I think it would be a very good and usefull Subforum. if there is any Forum we are not using at all, we can convert it to this. though even if not, the Guild account has nearly a mil in it, so a new Subforum is nothing.
also, I suggest that this very Suggestions Thread be Stickied or Announced. I almost couldn't find it.

I know you can only set subforums to crew only and everyone, but make it aware that it's an area for adults(so to speak) and if you're caught being bad or out of line you'll get an official guild warning. 'Heavan' sounds a bit bullshitty, but I didn't want to say what my first thoguht was, which was an adult subforum. Adult usually implies much more mature talk of sex, but like a drama free zone.. Adultish.
