Hey, Taichou~

Yeah, I initially stopped watching at the Bount arc... Bored me, so I went to the manga. Got all caught up with that later on, and went back to the anime. Worked on getting caught up there, reached Brat-Hime arc, and stopped completely.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the manga stuff animated, but I think I'm gonna have to wait until I'm sure it's out in the anime xD

Ah, I've read D.Gray-Man, xxxHolic and Fruits Basket as well.
My favourite manga right now is Psyren though. Really cool one imo

Oh Oh!!! Me wubs D.Gray-Man as well... Though I haven't finished reading it yet... sweatdrop I stopped about a year ago and failed to resume doing so... Hehe!

Hum... I have so many favorites Mangas and Animes, that the only way I can accurately name them is by genre. But there are some that are always there. Namely Evangelion, FMA, Rah Xephon, Gantz, GITS, etc... etc... - BESTS EVER!!!!

Right now I'm keeping track of Naruto, Bleach, Gantz, and One Piece. I'm also reading/watching every now and then Zetsubou Sensei, School Rumble, Macademi Washoi, and a few others...
And in the near future D.Gray-Man again!!! Thanks for reminding me!!! xp

I apologize for my unmentioned absence. I recently moved countries and just now acquired an internet connection (hate legal and immigration issues). Not only that, but college has started for me again; I didn't even get a summer vacation because schools here start in June.

If anyone would be so kind as to fill me in on current happenings?

Well... Nothing much has happened. He liberaited the squad from the Arrancars and now are on the Seating tournament. A handful of us just learned how to use shikai. But other than that it has been quiet.

Not if you are inactive often. What I mean is there has been no guild updates yet on anything new like an invasion on Hueco Mundo or something like that. But we are doing the turnaments, as you know. I myself realy like them.

Anyway, I was wondering something that other Squads have... Do we have a Squad Medic, because if we do not then I will get the neccisary trainning to take the position.

We don't have a Squad Medic, and I don't believe all the Squads have as well. In fact, I think few of them have. Having a Squad Medic in each Squad kind of defeats the purpose of having the 4th Squad to begin with.

But that's not the point here. Everyone is free to pursue his/her original concept for his/her RPC. If someone in this Squad wants to be a Healer that's fine by me. But being a Medic it's not the same as being what you call a regular Shinigami with added healing abilities. It's more of a character thing. Specializing in something means neglecting something else. You can't have (for example) kidou mastery or raw strength and still be adept at healing. There's no such thing as an all-around master.

Having said that, everyone is free to have some basic healing training (even I had some back in the day) on the 4th Squad. Just ask the Captain or the VC there for training. But being able to heal some minor cuts and wound doesn't qualify you as a medic.

I was perusing and I figured I should clear this up.
The only Squad that has Medic as a position is 1st, and it was an uphill battle to get that position to begin with. The member who has been elected as the Squad Medic will never hold an official seat, therefore will never be Vice-Captain or Captain. Her Zanpakuto is centered around healing others, as well as its Shikai and Bankai, and the only reason she requires combat experience is to defend herself and patients when necessary.

Don't mean to sounds snippy if that's how I come off, but that's about how the position works. Good day to all and may 13th prevail biggrin

Hi there Razil!

Well that sure clears things up. I didn't bother to check which Squads had a Medic, but I was pretty sure from the start that few of them had. Turns out, only the 1st Squad have one.

Like I said, I'll never get in the way of anyone's character development, and the idea of the Divine Protectors having a specialized healer is not at all unappealing to me, but I have to be reasonable. In order for someone to pursue a healing career he/she will have to endure some "penalties" - sort of speak.

Since there is a Squad entirely dedicated to healers, in order to be a healer in any other Squad additional measures must be taken. It's the same - for example - as a kidou specialist outside the 5th Squad. I'm not saying you can't be a good healer or a good kidou user. You just can't be a specialist in it. Being a master at something, always imply being neglectful on some other areas.

Sorry to just jump in here and put my 2 cents in but, I'm not just 1st Squads Medic. I am attached to them and I am on their roster as such but, I can go with any squad who might need my services on the battle field. I receive all my healing training from 4th Squad's VC along with all updates and anything else that comes out new.

Captain MockaDash is right here in some ways. I started out in 4th Squad and would still be there to this day but, they wanted to take the squad in a different direction than I wanted to go. Thus me being attached to 1st Squad. Spending all my time training for healing has made me neglectful on alot of area's that others are skilled in. Kidou's (above 10) and fighting abilities are not a strong part for my character. Razil is right, I can NEVER hold a seat/rank nor can I make Captain or VC because of my position.

So as you can see, I gave up alot and had to neglect alot of area's to make my character what she is today.
