He walked silently behind Alex fingers reaching out over the angel's shoulder to rest on a familiar title. "Old classics never die. Are you alright?" Skittles looked up at Alex. "You seem distracted. No longing, searching for something to ease a part of you that hurts." Skittles fingers left the titles, slow to brush back the other hair.

"Why do you think I am so focused on touch? I can close my eyes and feel that touch and it reasures me."His eye lashes feel remebering each and ever contour of the body behind him, the scent and warmth he radited.

Though the voice and hand over his shoulder he recognized and accepted, Alex jerked away at the touch. Immediately guilty, he berated himself silently - he'd offered Skittles the comfort of physical contact mere minutes before, such a simple contact--

But it was different, completely different for him. Touch could be reassuring, yes, but it was personal, unarguably personal, and for many reasons Alex was uncomfortable with personal things. He swallowed and nodded, hoping the small fox hadn't been offended in any way - or hurt, which would probably turn out worse - "Frankenstein," he said, throat feeling dry and empty, pulling out the book his hand had settled on. "It's..." trailed off, paused, lips closed firmly but not tightly, "One of his favorites."

A little put out but it was accepted. "Forgive me for my slip..I should not have assumed," he said stepping a few paces back and drifted away. Touch was personal to him in this form, mode, what you wish to call it. He had wished to share it with Alex because..he hurt and was likable..something was missing his friend or perhaps something more to Alex.

Hmmm, his head tilted, eyes closed, and he breath in deeply. "Ahh it will rain soon. Have you ever danced outside as life falls from the sky and everything becomes renewed?" Skittles questioned smiling before spinning in a lazy circle. "It's refreshing. I think I'll take my leave and dance. Good evening my lord."

He smiled sweetly and started off. There had to be a door somewhere...[/color

The worst hadn't come. He'd feared a reaction that - while it would be perfectly explicable, would've been... upsetting. He'd feared that Skittles wouldn't understand. But it seemed he did...

Dancing in the rain? He remembered that. For that brief pocket of time, when he and Andre had shared a cold - the first head cold either had had in years and years, the wondrous sneeze, the threat of pneumonia and glare from Bram. Oh, it'd been worth it - dancing and dancing in sweet Hawaii rain - warmer than even the gentlest drizzle anywhere else in the world.

But there were... things keeping him beneath rooves, here, now. Especially the 'now' over 'here'. Now he no longer sought to escape woes, but to resolve them. Now he had wings. Now he'd been sick (again), and felt no need to run Kingsley through that gauntlet (again). Tucking the book under his arm, he followed just behind, "My lord?" he murmured in amusement, "Is it Boxing Day without the snow?"

"Boxing day? Snow?" Skittles inquired confusion shadowing his eyes. No snow had fallen on the red sand beneath the two suns and small moons. "They words are not recognized, sir if you would be so kind of reveal the meanings?"

He paused, head tilting looking at Alex. "Are we following me? Are you to dance or to just watch?" He questioned blinking twice. "The book will get drenched," he added pointing to the object. He twirled around with a laugh and smile. “Then life fell in liquid, quenching those that thirst below. They where hit by such a simple magic. So they danced and became clean.”

Oh, right - desert.... They'd get to snow another day. "Boxing Day... is a holiday, a festival of sorts that comes from a certain country. The old tradition was that servants and masters switched positions for a day."

A slight bow of head and hair falling over his eyes to hide the amusement, "I shan't follow, I'm afraid. Wings are a terrible trouble to dry. Under the eves will suit me fine." From whence had the poetry emerged? Perhaps an effect of Skittles' affinity to vegetation, an eloquent joy might spring forth at the possibility of rain.

"Hmm..suit yourself," he said and stripped off the shirt leaving it behind before stepping outside. He tilted his head back and laughed pure and joyful as the first rumble sounded and a drop fell on his cheek. The pants followed, kicked back indoors and Skittles twirled about nude in the garden soon faded out as the rain started full force.

Retrieving the clothes, folding them that they might be found warm and dry and comforting when retrieved, Alex found his lips parting into an amused smile. Hadn't the boy only just had a shower? Speaking of which, towel.

He wandered back into the house to fetch one, and set it atop the clothes before sitting down beneath the overhang on the steps, book resting on his knees. Rain... he hadn't expected rain... but it was welcome, beating, pounding - nothing like fire. Nothing like fear.

Fifteen minutes and the rain had drenched him, running down his skin in little trails and making his hair shudder as the trendils moved basking in the rain. He laughed spinning with mud squishing underneath his feet. Such beauty was the rain lifting away all feelings of sorrow.

He spread his finger lifting them up above his slanted eyes. So beautiful eppp! He jumped as a hand fell on his shoulder and twirled glazing up and laughed. "Vain! No sneaking up on me like that."

Vain smiled slightly. "Dancing in the rain nude. Why didn't I think about that. How have things been for you? Did you get in trouble?" He sneezed. "Lets go inside."

"'k. I didn't get in any trouble, but I think Cody did." Skittles said as they walked to the house.

Having long since dozed off, head settled on his knees rather than back against the wall (oh, the trials of wings), Alex opened one sleepy eye as the two approached, and listened quietly to the words that passed between them - he wasn't quite aware enough to catch most of it, or even to understand that which he did manage to hear... Something about Kingsley in trouble. ...Ah, yes, Arthur had a tendency to make one wonder whether one was ready to die - in that bible-thumping way, though in a converse sense. Hm.

"Towel," he said lightly when they'd gotten closer, one arm wrapped around Frankenstein, the other indicating the pile of clothes and fluffy towel beside him. "Kingsley probably wants to talk to you," he added to Vain, gaze a little glazed and sleepy - he'd never had it easy staying up late - "Don't let him be stupid, please."

Pleasantly surprise Vain took one of the towel and stripped out of his sodden clothing, wrapping himself in a skillful movement to keep a semblance of modesty. "Is he often stupid?" The demon inquired trying to blow a piece of hair from his eyes.

Skittles gave a odd laugh. "We are short a towel. But I think we can impervise." He hug Vain, cuddling against the demon to dry himself off. "Body warmth works just as well."

"Kitten..." Vain shook his head and sat down allowing Skittles to cuddle against him. "Or we could ask Alex to please fetch a other towel for you. I'm sure he wouldn't mind." The demon said his tone slightly pleading.

A laugh escaped Alex's lips, a soft sound echoing his quickly fading ability to stay awake. "Towel for payment," he insisted, standing. "I bring towel, you don't let Kingsley be aggressively stupid at Peregrine." He crossed his arms, lips pursed together as he looked appraisingly at the two from the top of the stairs. Two birds with one stone, this - it'd force Vain to act as the rational force, despite the fact it seemed the run-in with the younger Kingsley had been less than fortuitous and Vain might be hoping for some quiet-alone-time of the angry!Kingsley variety. A pause, contemplation, "If you even bring him to M'lady Malady."

"You have to bring me a exchange of clothing as well or else the deal is a little too one sided," he argued and plucked at his clothes. "I am rather soaked. Cody will insist on it;I'm sure he will want to go to M'lady Malady."

A half-hearted kick at the carpet, you know the one - the kind little children indulge in, accompanied by an 'aw shucks' or a 'I didn't mean to' - "Just because he bitches at you doesn't mean you have to listen..." Alex half argued, a hidden smile peeking at the corners of his lips. But he made no further attempt at protestation - clothes for babysitting? Not a bad trade. What clothes to find for Vain, though... the only ones he could imagine might suit the demon would be Edmund's - because a fair amount had been left behind when the coon had disappeared on... his apparent honeymoon... or Marks'. But he was fairly certain Marks wouldn't appreciate it.

...Ah well. He wouldn't violently not appreciate it. The bird retrieved a pair of jeans, shirt and a jacket against the cool of the night (did Marks wear anything else? Honestly...) and returned to present them to Skittles and Vain with an undue amount of decorum. "Your garments, sir."

"Hmmm stop the bitching right away or listen to it for days on end? I rather not deal with aruging at the moment," The demon replied simply and reached down stroaking Skittles hair. "You be alright a few more hours with out me tomorrow?" Cody couldn't possibly want to go now.

"I'll be alright," Skittles said softly resting his head on the demon's side. "I want to sleep first and then we can figure out what will happen." His eyes became amused when Alex returned with jeans. "Zipper!"

"Zipper?" He asked bemused looking at Alex.
