Dixie Dellamorto Dear god woman. I long for a Bustled Dress. It's beautiful! The Photoshop work is also wonderful! I, myself, am trying to figure out how to make a bustle work on a open skirt. Kind of like the one on my current costume... to be worn over a pair of pants, for my up and coming goth steampunk Re-animator costume. Psst....is this the style you're looking for? I've had my eye on this one too and what's better the person who makes it is a curvy woman and willing to help make it to order (That and the fact it's $100 cheaper than any other i've seen that style) http://www.scoundrelleskeep.com/rielle.html

Dunedien, I love that scarf from the second picture! It looks so comfy and poofy and lovely~ haha~ Was the picture taken in California?
@ Dixie: haha~ I longed for one for ages and ages until I finally convinced my mom to buy me fabric and my aunt to help me sew it...so I long no longer! But the skirt you are after sounds very interesting but I'm not totally sure what it looks like ^^;

The scarf is actually a gift from my relatives that lived in Belgium. I love it. Thanks.

I have some pictures from Wondercon, back in February...This was more of a closet outfit, since I was expecting to have another outfit done it time which didn't come through, so this was a last minute deal. My character is a rich coal merchant's daughter.

After I finish my two anime cosplays, I'm going to start working on a better outfit with more contrast and more elaborate pieces. I really want to do a steampunk biologist/big game hunter/specimen collector.

It looks cool, but I don't know how I feel about the short bustle skirt. Are you going to keep it long? Send in pics when you'r done.

I tried to draw something out but I think I'm going to end up nixing the entire bustle thing... I don't know. I'll post my ideas when I get a chance.

lord-jarram come on lets see some pictures of everyone wearing their best steam-gear. heres one of me to get the ball rolling http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee80/kurt-jarram/cgn.jpg Wow, nice outfit! I'm still trying to figure out how to make a bustle or bustle-like item, so it might be a while before I can post my own outfit...

Sita Carew Wow, nice outfit! I'm still trying to figure out how to make a bustle or bustle-like item, so it might be a while before I can post my own outfit... You should definitely watch the Threadbangers episode Dixie has linked to above (that is the one with the bustle skirt, isn't it? I have restricted internet access right now, so I couldn't check) - their explanation about how to make the bustle seemed pretty easy to follow. And that's coming from someone who's more likely to dissect a sewing machine than actually use it... xp [edit, to throw in an undignified fangirl comment]Bashir! heart heart heart [/edit]
