Ok, yes, those reviews are awesome and sum up my views perfectly!!

But you know what I found? Well, actually Isa(of Katisa) found it, but anyway...It was an interview with David Whats-his-name, the guy who wrote Sozin's Comet. It wasn't over the Avatar project, but it was interesting enough.

Turns out he does a lot of writing for horror stories, Nightmare on Elm Street in particular. He wrote an adaptation for Wes Craven's New Nightmare(which I incidentally found JUST hours after I read this interview, good movie)

But you know what he does? It's true, he basically makes money off of getting permission to write fanfictions!

In the case of WCNN, it's VERY interesting....To quote some things:

David Bargantino
"New Nightmare was the most fun because, again, I was writing EXACTLY what I wanted to, it was different than your normal novelization"

"I did not talk to WC while I wrote the book. The only contact I had with him was when there was a new draft of the script."

"Still, I had to get the book done long before the movie was finished and you'll see that the ending of the book differs somewhat from the end of the movie."

Ok, similarities much? I think it can be guessed that Sozin's Comet might have also been written BEFORE Avatar was done in terms of production.
Also, maybe he didn't speak to Mike and Bryan through this either!

And it SAID he liked doing things his OWN way. And its also obvious that Sozin's Comet is also different from your average novelization; it's WORSE! lol.

There is probably a lot of other stuff lurking around in this interview, so I urge you guys to go and read it and share what you think. I do believe I saw him mention somewhere that he likes to take a story and create several DIFFERENT verisions of it, variations of the same story.
Together with this "somewhat different ending" business....If SC is anything like this case, we really don't have anything to worry about.

And apparently he does do a lot of horror stuff, like Freddy Krueger, and even some dark Shakespeare kind of stuff...Maybe he should stick to horror...cause he obviously can't write sappy romance that well! lol!

Haha, you guys are so awesome! Thanks for sharing the interview and reviews! <3

You know how they say the book was supposed to be released AFTER the finale aired? At the NYCC, I heard that M&B had said that everyone would be happy with the ending. The trailer said that the finale would air in July, and at that time, wasn't the book still meant to be released in May? (So they would know that people would be disappointed early on, yet they still said that everyone would be happy in the end.)
It sounds confusing and my facts may not be right, but what I'm trying to get at is...M&B probably knew the book would be released in May and in the trailer they said that the finale would air in July. ALSO, knowing all this, they still said that everyone would be happy with the ending. Know what I mean?

Dudes, all that information... awesomeness.

I sincerely hope that this means that the actual episodes won't suck up a storm. Like the Kataang kiss ends up being another dream of Aang's or something, what a twist! and he wakes up and everyone is going to go their separate ways, thus, an open ending.

But, lol at writing fanfiction for a living.

That honor should go to fandomme. For serious yo.

I wonder how many flames I'd get if I made a journal at DeviantArt about Sozin's Comet [with a spoiler warning, naturally] and how it received only one star out of five! God, it jut makes me so effin giddy! 4laugh I'd call it....[thinks] I LOVE Sozin's Comet!

That'd get peoples attention alright. xd But when they see what's in the journal, I'll throw them for a loop and a half! 4laugh twisted

Oh yeah, and I tried looking up that David guy on Wikipedia, he doesn't have a section. He only had a small sentence where his name was highlight briefly, but I scrolled right by it the first time as the print was that small! sweatdrop

But now, I have a really good feeling about everything. Throw her arms in the air; Thank You, the universe! cheese_whine

As much as I'd love too that would be sort of mean on my part, and I don't want to be like the Kataangers and Maikoans. xp You know picking trouble and all that. xd But anyone else who feels the need to cause havoc, please feel free. twisted And I'll send my [platonic] love to you.

Hi, guys. I'm new here, and this is my first post in this guild. BUT! BUT! BUT!

I've got a new tidbit to share. Anyone heard the new TZO podcast? I did, and I'm now intrigued.

Okay. The amazing trio have uncovered yet another loophole regarding the comic.

Apparently, someone sent in a letter regarding the interview in the comic. In the interview with Bryke in the comic, there was this one question--

Q: What's next for Avatar?
M: We have ideas to further expand the world, but it's still in the very early stages. We're keeping busy by finishing up the last episodes and serving as executive producers of the live-action movies.

The loophole is this. If the magazine was scheduled to be released AFTER the finale aired... why on earth would they STILL be finishing up the last episodes?

*spazz*

The book played screwy with a lot of peoples heads. And the reason for the ATLA delay is something went wrong in the animating of something. So, supposedly, they had to re-do it. Say if taking out Ozai was that "dark" or if Katara blood bending Zuko's heart to revive him after being struck down by Azula might also be pretty gruesome, not because Katara is reluctant to save him, she doesn't want to hurt him since she may care for him at this point.

Also, I told Katessa this, and she began laughing. You know how Zman66, GreenifyMe's friend had that icon that said; There is no such thing as Zutara. The Earth King Invites You To lake Laogai.

I thought of a Zutarian Version. xd

There is no such thing as Kataang. The Fire Lord invites you to Ember Island. rofl twisted mrgreen ninja

Yeah there is a LOT wrong and fishy about that interview. Me and Kat have looked at it from the beginning and found so much wrong with it. All the contradictions, the fact that some of them are simply OLD questions taken from OLD interviews.

And like TZO brought up(since I just listened and caught up last night) they talked about how one question mentioned the episode "The Dark Side of the Moon," Which could have been the original name for "The Puppetmaster"...That only shows that it is either a very old interview (question) or it is going to be some episode in the future. But I think they did say something about us learning in that episode that waterbenders can bend ice...or something...

That interview really is so suspicious. I mean, to go back to my Wes Craven theory, this is probably only PROOF that this book was possibly written long before production was done. If that Episode's name was something different, it kind of points it out! You'd think they'd edit it or something! Jeez!

Another support is what the TZO girls brought up last night about the illustrations all look screen-cap-based...Basically good, but you can still tell they're different. They don't look exactly like Screencaps to me, they have a much different style, but I think they probably were able to use some reference. Anyway, all of the pictures in the book Except for the Kataang kiss have this...Reference-was-used quality to them, but the kiss is just....bleh! It looks all wrong! (and it's not just that it's Katara and Aang slobbering all over each other!)

So that supports the hypothesis that Zutara happens instead of Kataang in the SHOW. More so that this was all done before production was done. As this guy did with NewNightmare, Maybe the end pairing was not yet available, so he ended it anyway, lleaving it with a 'somewhat different' ending.

And who knows, maybe the illustrations came later. Maybe he wrote, finished, and then got the guy to illustrate it. I dunno.

But that interview, sheesh, there is so much wrong with it. "Finishing up the last episodes" is DEFINITELY a red flag. That's why I can't believe this book. It has almost zero credibility to me.

i'm not going to let myself believe they changed the name of a episode quite yet. i think its entirely possible that sozin's comet part something is named "dark side of the moon." i keep thinking about the zutara ninja mission and how that title could fit those scenes.

question i thought we already knew that waterbenders can bend ice. question i mean, isn't that fairly obvious? hahaha, whatever, we're just "kids" right? we're not supposed to notice the obvious... like kataang. *shudder*

have you heard my "soft spot" theory? if not, i direct you to the comments made on avidzktjo's sozin's comet bryke interview here
its somewhere in the throng of comments. i use the same username there, if that helps.....
