So... Have I a chance of winning the bumpy thing? No; too little time left in the month.
Have I a chance of winning the dice bit? Not with my luck.
Have I a chance of winning the katana? With my activity levels this month, exacerbated by my lack of a computer, likely not.
But that sure as heck doesn't mean I can't try.
I'm Bacillus Anthracis, also known as Anthrax, also known as BA, also known as Felina. I am, evidently, a badass (check the initials) bio-geek whose primary love is rent asunder by the difficulty of studying biology full-time and writing full-time as well. At the same time. Needless to say, I bounce around like a helpless ping-pong ball between the two, utterly unable to decide which I should like to concentrate on. This situation isn't helped by my the third love (to round out the triangle- the more points it has, the closer it is to being a circle, the fact that a circle has an infinite number of points going utterly ignored), programming.
All of which is well and good, but that really doesn't have a whole lot to do with the point of this, which is to say, my contributions to the guild and activity and whatnot. Can't remember the exact wording of the prompt and to be honest, I'm totally winging this. It's amazing what I can think up on the fly (hardy har, a pun).
So, without further ado...
I'm Bacillus Anthracis, also known as Anthrax, also known as BA, also known as Felina. I joined this guild back sometime in 2006, can't remember exactly when, but I know I've been around at least that long (I've found posts of mine dating from Jan 7, 2007, and I referenced earlier posts in those). Unfortunately, I did have to check that for myself, my memory failing me in that area.
Since I joined back... whenever it was (memory leaks like a bucket made out of tissue paper- that is to say, it retains only a little, and that random), I've changed. A lot. It could just be the age (I'm coming to the end of high school, and when I joined I was really only just beginning), or it could be the things I've seen since. I think it was, at least in part, this guild. It was a place where I could talk about the things that I care about, without fear of a teacher telling me I wasn't allowed to express those views (read: right to abortion, abolition of the death penalty, separation of church and state) in school (Texas, I fear, is a more biased and conservative place than most). It was a place where I could talk about and hear about animes that I'd seen, and a lot that I hadn't.
For me, The GFBI was originally just an awesome place where there was someone else besides myself who loved the X-Files (though we did differ on the topic of Mulder vs. Scully, I do belive). It had smart, witty people who made me laugh as I read their posts. It had its annoyances, true, but those paled in comparison to the reasons why, through everything that ever happened to me, I kept coming back.
The GFBI's done a lot for me, and I'd like to think at least that I've done something in return. I've made at least a few people aware that there are some good animes out there that maybe they haven't necessarily heard of. I've been the voice from beyond at times, coming in from left field with my ideas, but always it sparked more discussion. I may not have the hugest amount of posts in the guild, but those that I have contributed have been meaningful. I've created roleplays, I've started debates, I've introduced new shows, I've given my opinions and heard those of others.
I'm not the most happy person in the world. Nor am I the most interesting (that has to go to the man in the Dos Equis commercials, if anyone else gets the reference), no more than I am the most brilliant or the most beautiful. But what I am is what nobody else can be better at being: me.

Well, I'm going to start on a picture; I need something to do during the TAKS practice tomorrow. There really isn't much point in that, the science classes are forcing us to review anyhow (the fact that I'm in pre-AP and obviously more than capable of passing TAKS being ignored), and I'm in Calculus while TAKS is over Algebra II. Not a problem. At all. In fact, myself and the one other junior in Calc are intending on solving any problems possible with derivatives and integrals, just to confuse the heck out of the little level kiddoes.
That being said, I have no intention of paying any attention at all during that thing. So yeah. Gonna have to draw. So that I don't go utterly mad, as I doubt I could get away with working on my novel using my laptop.

Haha, yeah. So the picture... didn't work out so well. Note that I never do use the word 'artist' to describe myself, unless there's something in there to negate the artist bit. As in 'not an artist'.
I'll try again tomorrow during Calc, because it's the only class I go to (aside from the math TAKS- and honestly, Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills? More like 'let's see how much you can bs a test') and I don't often pay much attention in there anyhow. The AP exam is a week from today and I'm sure I'll do fine; Calculus is one thing that I am good at (unlike art, unless you take that to mean the written or musical sort).
