Dodging Kiba's failed lunge at Shin, Tanu watched as the boy tumbled head first into the lagoon. Small droplets from his splash landed on her tanned skin and she rubbed them off as a large grin spread across her face. "Haha!" the girl laughed, but barely had a chance to gloat and tease as Shin was thrown at her by Natamo. It knocked Tanu into the waters, falling right next to Kiba with a small splash. "AH!" Tanu yelled as the cold water made her body violently shake! "Its freezing!" the red haired girl yelled at the top of her lungs. The water was chilly since it was only spring and her leather clothes were extremely soaked now as she stood up from the water just in time to hear Natamo scold them all. 'So, she was the one in the tress...' Tanu thought to herself as she shut up quickly as the woman shook her head at the three genin. "Way to go, Nara," Tanu said with a scowl as she blamed this all on Shin.

As Tanu stood up from the cold water, the air instantly made her skin bumpy and her teeth chatter. It was always breezy by the shoreline and even the warmest of breezes would give Tanu the goosebumps in this cold water! "Its obvious that she's training! Why else would she be blindfolded in the middle of all those weapons and animals!" Tanu yelled at Shin through chattering teeth as she attempted to climb out of the lagoon and get back to her rock. "Baka," she mumbled under her breath as she slipped on the muddy step of earth leading out of the lagoon and falling back into the water, creating another big splash that would most likely get Kiba right in the face if he were trying to stand up. "Arg," Tanu growled at herself as she hit the water's surface with an open hand to splash water at Shin! "Help me out of here!" Tanu demanded towards the boy as she started to stand up once again and move to the drop off to the water.

Shin didn't really listen to the words of warning shouted out by Kiba and Tanu. All he saw was Hanabira near a snake and sharp kunai and it sent him running! He barely even saw Natamo run across the dangerous items lying out as she quickly grabbed him and through him back into Tanu just as Kiba fell into the lagoon. "Ouf," Shin said as he bumped into his teammate, knocking her into the lagoon and being left to stand in front of Natamo by himself. "I-I'm sorry!" Shin quickly apologized to the low tone that was snarled at them as if it were being spoken out of a grizzly bear. 'Scary...' Shin thought to himself as he backed away as Natamo turned around to continue the training. When he was barked at by Tanu, the tall scrawny boy turned around and quickly offered a helping hand. "I'm sorry!" he apologized again as he grabbed Tanu's ice cold hand and began pulling her out. Just as he was pulling her out, he heard a low growl and turned to see a lion. "AH!" Shin yelled out in surprise, letting go of Tanu's hand. He quickly re-gained his composure though as he recognized that it was Kore. "Oh... Man... Kore, don't scare me like that!" Shin said to the lion as he smiled nervously. Over the years while he had gotten to be better friends with Karite, Shin had come to be a little more comfortable around the lions of the Tategami clan. To be honest, the lions weren't the Tategami's that scared him, but their clan leader... Maya. "I'm sorry!" Shin yelled out again as he realized that he had let go of Tanu's hand while helping her out.

Karite had watched the scene unfold and luckily he had finished his instructions before Shin yelled out. As the boy ran forward there wasn't much Karite could do to stop him but, thanks to Natamo he wouldn't have to. Everyone else had scolded Shin already, and knowing where he was coming from Karite felt he should ease the boys worries some. "Shin, its no problem really. You were doing what any boyfriend would have done in a situation like this, but the hard thing for you and I is. Our girlfriends are Shinobi as well. Which means they have the same training and lifestyle we do. We will all end up doing crazy things that will get us hurt. I promise you though, as your friend, that I will make sure Hana-chan always comes back in one piece." Smiling his cat like smile that caused him to squint his eyes shut and bare his own canines he heard the familiar growl of Kore. Looking down from his rock he smiled at his friend. "Hey Kore, Did Senritsu give up on beating you? Well stick around. We will get something to eat soon."
Now studying the situation Hana- chan was in there was only one place she could go that would lead to her being safe and closer to undoing his ties, but now that Tanu's entire squad was here, he couldn't attack her. Kore was here as well but he was not of genin caliber yet so he would walk away with more injures then anything. And with no Baki around it meant food would be scarce for Ruha and himself. "Alright Hana-chan, lets try to finish this up so we can get you out of there. Took one step forwards, two steps to the left, one step forwards, two steps to the right, and three steps forward."

"Ugh," Tanu groaned as Shin's warm hand grabbed hers and began to pull. It was annoying how much Shin apolo- "Ah!" Tanu cried out as Shin suddenly let go of her hand and sent her back into the cold water. Her skin was getting paler and paler by the moment as she spent more and more time in the cool waters. "SHIN!" Tanu yelled with a low tone that almost matched Natamo's! Quickly, the Nara apologized against and gave her his hand once more. "You're such a doofus!" Tanu yelled at him as she finally made it out of the lagoon and back to her rock. She was now wet from head to toe and shaking from the cold. 'I hate you,' Tanu said to herself as she glared at the dusty haired boy standing in front of her. Crossing her arms over her chest, Tanu tried to warm herself as she finally got out of the cold water. "What do you want?" Tanu said to the growling lion as she glared at him in her aggravated state.

Rubbing her hands up and down on her biceps, Tanu attempted to warm herself up some more. She was forced to roll her eyes at Karite's speech. "Oh, please," the girl mumbled to herself as she thought about the last speech she had heard from Karite a few years ago. He had been annoying then, and he was annoying now! Tanu couldn't wait for him to be done with his training so she could get at him and show him that he was just a bunch of talk. The Kun 'Kumo wanted to ask Natamo when she was going to get her, Shin and Kiba started on their training exercise, but her former snappy comment towards the three of them made Tanu not want to talk to her until she was spoken too! For now, Tanu was sit on the rock and attempt to warm herself up by the friction of her hands on her arms.

The goosebumps began to simmer down thanks to the warmth coming from Tanu's rubbing movement. She moved from her arms to her legs, trying to get them warmed up, but it was now use with her pants and shoes on. Tanu began unlacing her boots and found that quite a bit of water had seeped into them. "Ugh," Tanu groaned as she laid her boots out in the sun. She was glad that it wasn't cloudy at all today. With both boots lying out, Tanu began to take off her socks. Ringing them out, she also laid them out in the sun, but she made sure to put them on the rock, so the water would evaporate quicker. There was no chance that Tanu was going to take off her pants in front of anyone, so she merely rolled them up and started warming up her legs by rubbing up and down. "This is stupid," Tanu mumbled to herself as she leaned down over knees to warm up her legs while her haired dripped onto the ground.

Shin couldn't deny that he didn't deserve the glare that Tanu shot him as he stood in front of her. He watched her trying to dry herself off for a moment, before he mustered up enough courage to say something. "If you dry your hair and warm up your ears, you'll feel better," the boy suggested, learning from Hanabira that most of your heat escaped through your head. It was an interesting fact and he loved that the girl was full of such information. "Here, Kiba!" Shin said as he quickly moved to the edge of the ground to lend a hand to Kiba, who was still stuck in the cold waters of the lagoon. "I'm sorry about that," Shin said with a squinty-eyed smile, which meant he truly was sorry about his actions. As he held out his hand to Kiba, he turned his head to Karite. "Heh... Yea! Its a good thing I'm not on Hanabira's squad," Shin said with a small smile as he remembered Hanabira rejecting him when he asked her to be on his squad. She had been right in deciding to not be on a squad with Shin or Kane; they would just baby her after all!

Tanu shifted her eyes to the side as Shin gave her some advice to dry her hair and warm up her ears. "Whatever..." the Kun 'Kumo said as she turned around on the rock and kept her back towards Shin. After he said that though, Tanu could feel the sting of the air cool her ears and cause a lot of pain in her head. Shaking her red hair back and forth like a dog, Tanu tried to dry it off a bit at least to the point where it wasn't dripping wet. Cupping her hands over her ears, she tried to block out Karite and Shin's talking. Boyfriends, girlfriends. Gross. Tanu didn't understand why Shin was dating Hanabira and why Karite and Orika were all lovey dovy with each other. They were all shinobi for crying out loud! Tanu was only thirteen though and didn't understand what it was like to have a crush on someone. She thought that maybe she had been crushing on Shin when she first came to Shimagakure, but the boy was just nice to everyone and probably made every girl feel like that when they first met.

Keeping her hands cupped over her ears, Tanu tried to trap in the heat and it did help a bit, but the breeze was still getting her! Goosebumps struck back up in full numbers as the cool wind chilled her spine and caused her to shake again. If it were the end of the spring, the water wouldn't be so blasted cold! Tanu heaved a heavy sigh as she tried to relax her shaking muscles and her chattering jaw. Scooting down to the ground, Tanu sat behind the rock hoping that it would block some of the wind and give her the chance to warm up! The wind felt as if it was coming from several directions though since it continued to give Tanu chills and ice her feet. Putting her hands in front of her mouth, Tanu breathed into the heavily trying warm them up before she put them back under her ears.

"*Cough*, *Cough*," Tanu coughed as her lungs felt as if they were getting chilled! "Uuuugh," Tanu groaned as she began to grow tired of being cold. In a last ditch attempt, Tanu sprawled out on some dry ground just like she had done with her clothes. If she couldn't warm herself up with friction or by sitting behind a rock to block the wind, then she would try to dry off as if she were a piece of clothing! The sun was truly warm on her bare skin. "Oh yea..." Tanu said as she laid on her stomach and let her back warm up. She didn't care if she dried off anymore, the sun was warm enough for her! If only she had learned a fire jutsu from Kana before he went back to the mainland... She could warm herself up in an instant!

Why had the gods so cruelly turned against poor Kiba? No sooner did he begin raising himself out of the water than did a rather terrifying Natamo give him such a fright as to convince the young Raiken to resubmerge himself to take some of the pressure off. After letting that blow over and surfacing again Kiba was hit directly in his eyes with ice cold lagoon water splashed directly into his face by Tanu. He could not be sure if it was intentional or accidental, but whatever the case it caused him to once again lose his balance and fall back into the water. However, he would persevere. This time not getting fully out of the water he simply poked his head up above the frigid surface to see if there was any danger. Indeed there was! A rather intimidating lion had appeared on the scene and Kiba, yet again, returned below the water. I wonder if it'd just be better to stay under and drownd... he silently mused under the water. Fortunately, Shin would come to the rescue and help pull Kiba out. Though more than a little agitated at Shin he did find it difficult to stay mad at such a guy and just sighed before replying "Thanks Shin-san."

Having finally gotten out of the lagoon Kiba almost instantly regretted doing so. Having stayed in the frigid water for so long his body had gotten used to it. Now, finally on land, the slight breeze very nearly gave him frost bite. "D-Dang it!" Kiba stammered out with shaking teeth as he hugged himself for warmth. While hugging himself really did Kiba very little good, his mind was distracted from the miserable condition of his body, however, by something else. When had all of these guys suddenly gotten girl friends? Was Kiba really that out of the loop. He now worried a bit about just how well he really knew his genin squad members. He searched the inner most recesses of his mind to try and think if he had, before this point, ever heard about Shin having a love interest. No, not the could remember, but then again maybe he had... Dang it! Kiba thought as he held both sides of his head and ruffled his hair in frustration at not being able to remember such a thing. It was not so much the specific fact that Kiba needed to know who Shin was dating, but it was the principal of the matter that he knew so little about the young Nara. The young Raiken's thought quickly became more self-centered, however, as he thought about the fact that as long as he had been in Shimagakure not once had a girl shown any interest in him... He was still twelve and boyish so it did not bother him all that much yet. At any rate his thoughts were quickly turned from love altogether as a particularly cold gust of wind hit his soaked body and caused him to shiver violently. He would have to do something better than just hug himself...

Still as drenched as ever Kiba thought that, regardless of the mixed company, the best way to get warm fast was to remove some of his clothing which was so efficiently retaining water. First he went for his shirt. Unfortunately the water had plastered it to the young Raiken's body which mad it quite troublesome to remove. With no little effort Kiba pulled harder on it now to try and get it off than he had when he had tried so desperately to get it on this morning. But, in the end, the fates still frowned upon the star crossed Raikne and cursed his every endeavor. Once again, while wrestling with his shirt he blindly staggered about and accidently lost his footing and plunged back into the freezing lagoon. If Kiba had been the character in some comedic book many readers would likely think that such repetition of the same gag was extreme overkill and that it was no longer funny in the least. Unfortunately, sometimes fact is stranger than fiction, as they say, and, for the ump-teenth time, Kiba returned to the lagoon against his will. Most tragic of all, however, is that, as he fell again into the water, he had succeded in removing his shirt. Now, instead of having the shirt's fabric to guard his bare skin from the cruelly cold water, the water was directly on it making the dark eyed Raiken even colder.
