Lord Dracien leaned back on the chair, looking up at the ceiling now. "I did set up a meeting. It was yesterday, and he stayed in his room the entire time. . ." Lord dracien replied. It was true enough, even if the other had forgotten the promise. He brought his eyes back to Katherine's face. "So. . . Why are you here?"

Katherine's smile faded for a moment. "At first we came because i had never before been here, i thought it would be nice. The threat of bandits was a good enough reason more so than personal matters." She then gave a slight smile. "I am more than ready to go home now, i need to make sure the threat is gone first however."

Lord Dracien let out a chuckle of his own. "Are you talking about the rogues out in the forest. I don't know why you would be having any trouble with them. I heard that you dealt with such rabble all the time." Lord Dracien let our another small chuckle. It seemed funny to him, since he had never had such problems.

"Well yes i would love to go out and take care of the problem and on occasion i do but.." She leaned back again looking towards her right and down a bit with a sigh, "But i have had the lack of information you have, I have spoke with Lord Morte only twice since we were here. No one has given me a report Lord Zerpher has not came back to tell me anyhting and i have not been able to locate Lord Paradox either."

(Internet pooped on me.) Lord Dracien eyes narrowed. "That's what you get for hiring demons and monsters. Why don't you just sic your 'lord Paradox' on them? For him, It would just be as easy as the slaughterhouse." Lord Dracien told her with unveiled disgust. The lord blinked, as if surprised at what he had just said. "They just want to take down their mad lord, as they call him. Lord Mortey has been acting strangely since the attack.."

"What is it you have aginst lord Paradox, he has saved my life and the lives of my people. He is very worthy of his rank perhaps even worthy of much more yet you fault him?" She shook her head slightly, "I know it has to do with Tesla and the past but he has done good here. He is far from a monster."

Lord Dracien snorted. "In Tesla we have a saying. Once a monster, always a monster. 'Lord Paradox' just got a job. Instead of killing innocent people, he kills for the crown." Lord Dracien replied with obvious distaste. The teslan lord seemed to have a very personal problem with Paradox. he pulled out the wooden thermis that he always seemed to have, opened it up, and downed it in one swig. "As long as you hold him, every man and women who works for you is in danger. All the people in llyr." He finished.

Katherine laughed then. "I promise you as scarey as he may be my people are not in danger. Paradox has feelings like everyone else and i can promise that he is very proud of Llyr and fights for it as well as for me." Her smile still played her lips. "You said monsters, who else do you mean?"

Lord Dracien echoed the laugh. "Feelings? Of course. Of course." The lord took a deep breath. "Who knows what else your hiding in that little family of yours. If I hadn't met you myself, I would think you were a monster too." The lord chuckled at that, but he did have his doubts. There was something that she was keeping secret. He could tell just by her eyes.

Katherine kept her smile finding it funny or seemed to. "But i am M'lord, isn't eveyone in my postion? Controling people's lives.. men's lives in fact. To most i am indeed a monster." She said with a smile. He might no some of the truth. "Not to mention the King himself is a force to be reckoned with."

Dracien slapped his head. She dodged that bullet well. "Isn't every king? You don't know the kind of stuff he wants me to do. More tax, just because I've been hiring mercenaries for soldiers. More military, just because my military might doubled in a fortnight. I'm just making my chunk of land safer for the people." The lord said with good humor. He expected that she had already been told about his military expansions. All the new ships needed men, and Dracien was tired of losing his own men all the time.

She noded some with a smile. "That is a risk. You know well enough i agree with your king. Plus in Llyr mercaneries are outlawed. I believe it is better for men to die for there land than blood money. Though i agree that mercanries are easier.. and if they don't live thats more money to you." She knew poltics of war well enough.

Lord Dracien nodded back. "I've seen enough of men dying for their homeland, leaving farms abandoned, children orphaned, and a land of confused people attending their king's funeral. For a mercenary, fighting is their life." he leaned forward in the chair. His thermis was completely empty. "I pay, feed, house, and equip them just like any other soldier. All they need is a will to fight, and nothing to lose, but their life." He told her. He had gotten rid of the beggars that had lived around his land like that. The homeless had jobs, and unemployment was almost non-existant.

Katherine only shrugged. "For the right price you can buy a man's soul, i don't want that. If they can be bought they can be taken by a higher bidder and placed aginst me... whats more i believe in honor even if the rest of the world threw it away." She spoke being very serious.

Lord Dracien shrugged back. "There is something to be said about loyalty among theives. Mercenaries work salaries based on the danger, and they know what happens when they turncoat on me. It's also the reason why every one of my commanding officers is appointed by me, and me only." Lord dracien turned to the books in the library. "How does this library compare to yours?" The lord asked specutively.
