Jumping a bit as he heard the phone ring on his desk, he patted Edward once more and then moved toward the phone slowly. It was still a bit dark and he didn't want to go tripping over random objects that could be lying on the floor.
Picking up the phone, he got an earful from the person at the other end. "What is that? ... Oh. Okay. I'll be right down there." With that, he placed the reciever back on the base and looked to the group of individuals in the office.
"Apparently I have a matter that must be dealt with. There are tresspassers and they're asking me to deal with them. You are more than welcome to come if you'd like." He spoke to them as he slipped his jacket on and stalked toward the door. Just when a nice reunion had taken place, something had happened to upset it.
Such was life, he figured it would just get worse from here on out, as there were reports that the feared homunculi, Envy, was on the loose again.
Holding the door open for Riza, he motioned for the others to follow as well. He scoffed at himself inwardly as he looked toward Edward. He couldn't believe that he had just given in and shown everyone exactly how much he cared about the fullmetal brat.
Walking down the dark hall, he had a overwhelming ominous feeling surface in his stomach. Something was not right...

Naerin She faced both of the kids."You two, follow me. Now." She started walking away and both of them got up. Ayumi turned around and faced the guard. She pointed to him and said,"You. Tell Brigadier General Mustang that he will not be needed anymore. I'll be taking them. " She turned on her heel and headed toward her office. Riku rose from her, not sure whether to follow the new officer or not. She turned to Kat with a questioning glance. And sighed, they were lost travelers not tresspassers but the millitary seemed to have other ideas.

Adine leapt to her feet when the lt. colonel moved to take the children away. She started to protest, then thought better of it.
What did she care about the kids? Things may have even been better this way. Without the children, Adine would have the brigadier general and party to herself. All the better without the distraction of the little ones. She met the smaller one's eye a moment, seeing fear in them...but paid it no mind.
The children hadn't liked her much in the first place. They'd been reluctant at best, and silently fuming at worst. She had sensed their resentment from the first second...she'd be damned if she was going to come to their rescue. The lt. colonel wasn't exactly known for her subtlety or mildness... but the kids were on their own now. Not her problem anymore.
Sending Riku a syrupy smile and a sardonic goodbye wave, she crossed her long legs and waited for Mustang to come to the lobby.
Everything happened for a reason...she had always believed that. The reason she had found the children was so she could get her hands on the map (which she surely wasn't handing over to the lt. colonel...), and now the lt. colonel was taking the children away...so Adine could have Mustang to herself.
When the lt. colonel was beyond earshot, Adine smiled sweetly at the guard.
"Don't make the call, Guard," she said, and he looked at her, confused. She reached into her jacket and pulled out the map. "The chuusa may have the children," she continued slowly, "but I have something far more interesting. Let Mustang-junshou come. I have a feeling he will find this...quite intriguing..."
She licked her lips and the guard swallowed hard. Then he quickly returned to reading the paper by candlelight.
Adine rubbed her palms together gleefully.
Everything was slowly but surely beginning to fall into place. Even the return of the Fullmetal One had been thrown into the mix... What an invigorating turn of events...
She grinned wickedly as the lt. colonel took the children away. Nothing would stop her plans now...

She started walking when she noticed that there weren't any other footsteps following her. She sweatdropped and turned around. "Well, are you two gonna follow me or not?!!" She was growing impatient. She wanted to get this over with as soon as possible. She glared back at the kids. It was a mix of her usual 'you-better-get-right-here-right-now-or-else' glare and a reliable death glare.
Death glare level-6
She started walking away again and the kids followed suit. Her pace quickened and they eventually ended up at the door to her office. She opened the door for them and they went in. Before she closed it she asked two of her subordinates to guard the door.
She sat at her chair and pulled a notebook and a pen. After that she began to speak."I am Lt.Colonel Aymui Tsukiyama, Head of Martial Investigations and has been head of this department for two years. I've been in the military for nine years. I'm also known as "Elemental Scythe" alchemist." She pulled her pocket watch as proof. "Both of you take a chair and we'll start off with the basics. Name, age, where are you from, and what are doing here. Please cooperate and do not resist. Please remove any dangerous items including anything that has something to do with alchemy and place them by my desk. Any form of resistance is obviously not acceptable and the consequences are dire."

Honoo no Renkinjutsushi "Apparently I have a matter that must be dealt with. There are tresspassers and they're asking me to deal with them. You are more than welcome to come if you'd like." He spoke to them as he slipped his jacket on and stalked toward the door. Just when a nice reunion had taken place, something had happened to upset it. Riza saluted crisply and nodded her head.
"Of course we'll be accompanying you," she spoke for Havoc, who jumped, but didn't make any objection. She caught Roy's eye a moment and then lowered her gaze in silent apology for her previous actions.
She couldn't unsay what she had said, but she could at least put forth the extra effort to make up for it later... In any case, right now wasn't really time for repentence. It never failed...as soon as something good came their way, something bad almost always followed. She grabbed one of the lit candles from Roy's desk and headed for the doorway.
Riza had a feeling that what was waiting for them in the lobby was going to be trouble...
...If only she knew how right she truly was...Honoo no Renkinjutsushi Holding the door open for Riza, he motioned for the others to follow as well. He scoffed at himself inwardly as he looked toward Edward. He couldn't believe that he had just given in and shown everyone exactly how much he cared about the fullmetal brat.
Walking down the dark hall, he had a overwhelming ominous feeling surface in his stomach. Something was not right... Riza paused outside the door until everyone had exited the office, and Roy pulled the door closed behind him. She held up the candle so he could lock the knob, then gave him an unreadable look when he straightened and lifted his head.
She nervously scratched her head.
"Ah...Sir...I..." she stammered, and saw him grin at her lack of articulation. She bit her tongue into submission. "Sir, please forgive what I said earlier," she implored, and fell into step beside him as they trailed behind Havoc and Ed. "I wasn't thinking clearly. Something about Adine makes me uneasy and I lose my concentration. I just worry that she has the same effect on you and...well..." --she cast him a sidelong glance-- "you have enough difficulty focusing as it is..." she quipped in conclusion, and a wry grin crept across her face.
The grin faded as quickly as it had appeared.
"I just have a really bad feeling about this whole thing," she added for good measure. "The storm, the tresspassers... Even Edward-kun's return..." Roy looked at her oddly, and she shook her head as if trying to clear it. "As happy as I am to see him back," she whispered, mostly so Ed wouldn't hear her words, "I can't help but wonder if it isn't some sort of sign of things to come..." She blinked at Roy as he leaned in close to hear her. "I wonder...if perhaps he was returned to us...because...we may need his help during the events that seem imminent to come..."
Then she fell quiet, leaving Roy to ponder these thoughts in silence broken only by footsteps...

"Of course we'll be accompanying you," she spoke for Havoc, who jumped, but didn't make any objection. "Eh?"
Havoc snapped to attention (his mind jerked out of the little visions he was still having of Adine and her long, supple legs) and cast a glance toward Hawkeye. She lifted her brows at him--a chiding look--and he quickly mimicked the salute and gave Mustang a serious nod.
"Uh, absolutely, junshou!" he said loudly. "We'll all go."
He wished he had been listening to where exactly they were going...Honoo no Renkinjutsushi Holding the door open for Riza, he motioned for the others to follow as well. He scoffed at himself inwardly as he looked toward Edward. He couldn't believe that he had just given in and shown everyone exactly how much he cared about the fullmetal brat. Havoc lingered in the hall a moment until Edward emerged behind him, and he gave the younger man a jovial grin.
"So, Taishou, what have you been up to all this time?" he asked offhandedly. Then he made a face. "Er...I mean... You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to...but...I was just curious..." He scratched the back of his neck and chewed on his cigarette. "I was just thinking...you got a lot taller..."--he flinched in preparation for one of Ed's famous flailing punch attacks--"and I was wondering if you'd found youerself a girlfriend yet...?"
He squeezed his eyes closed and prepared for impact of the Edward kind.
It was times like these that Havoc wished he had been blessed with the gift of thinking before he spoke...

Ash rubbed her face into her sleeve, but growled as all it did was soak her face worse.
She looked up towards the Central building then to the two behind her, "Yo! We're almost to dry land! Just beware of the fishes that try to swim beneath ya!"
She smiled at the slight lift in tension in Al and Winry.
She turned her sights to the HQ doors and sighed, "Welcome to dry land. Realm of the alchemists and perverts alike. Keep an eye on your skirt."
This time she heard a small amount of laughing.

Kat stared at the Lt. Colonel. She wanted to know who they were and where they came from.... Should I tell her....? Kat thought. She didn't really know herself where she came from exactly.... and she sure as heck didn't know what she was doing here. She was also sure that she would not be able to fight this person, alshemy, physical or otherwise.
Kat opened her mouth and closed it again, not knowing what to say. She sideways-glanced at Riku, wondering if she had any ideas.

Hot Damn, it was cold.
A young woman, small in stature and timid in demeanor, stood rubbing her hands against the drenched fabric of her jacket. She had no real idea where she was going... sure, she knew she was in Central City... but what good did that do her?
Pulling the dripping fabric around herself tighter, she hunched her shoulders.
Now where did HQ get to...? I can't think of a better place to find someone to teach me alchemy than Central HeadQuarters...
Armony Eiselstein had never been very good at the ancient science, in either of her lifetimes. While she couldn't recall the one in which she'd grown up being taught alchemy by her father, she'd found herself inexplainably drawn to the art. Having woken up in the midst of a flattened bed of ash -- formerly known as the New Hiessgart Alchemyworks -- without a single memory of her past... Armony found alchemy as the only thing to go on.
Granted, she'd learned some things, just from books she'd found in a library. But what did books tell you? She needed practice. She needed a teacher. And what better place to find one than Central City? The place itself was practically crawling with alchemists.
So here she wandered, saturated and pruney, trying aimlessly to find the Central HQ. Surely she could ask someone there to teach her... alchemists were people, too. They'd have it in them to help her out a little...
...right?
Good Lord, it's hard to see through all this rain... it never rained like this in the other cities I visited... As she neared the HeadQuarters, she noticed a silhouette, resting near what appeared to be a large fountain. A faint smile graced her girlish features.
Why, this was the first person she'd seen since she'd arrived in this unwelcoming city... not that she blamed anyone for staying inside in this awful weather...
She removed one hand from her jacket and waved it above her head in an attempt to catch the figure's attention.
"Excuse me, sir?" She ventured, stepping closer. Something deep in the pit of her stomach stirred imperceptibly, giving her a vague feeling of foreboding. She ignored it.
Ohh, if only she'd listened. But how was a victim of accidental amnesia supposed to know who she approached? How was she supposed to know that who stood before her wasn't what he appeared, but rather a deranged, non-human murderer? She hadn't a clue. So rather than make an intelligent choice and look elsewhere for a tour guide, she continued to approach the age-old Homunculus, having not the faintest of an idea of just what kind of trouble she may be getting herself into...
(( Yeesh... what an awful intro. v__v; I'm sorry, Envy-san... I've sort of thrown myself upon you. I hope you don't mind...? I'm anxious to get in on the action, here... and it was a plan devised around me by the brilliant minds of Hawkeye-san and McLearynn-san. Aren't they ingenious? heart Thank you so much, ladies! ...although... sweatdrop 's a good way to get myself killed, approaching an already-irked Envy... ::cringes:: ))

Okay, so maybe this strange Ashtoreth girl wasn't so bad, after all... light_ashtoreth She turned her sights to the HQ doors and sighed, "Welcome to dry land. Realm of the alchemists and perverts alike. Keep an eye on your skirt." Winry's hands subconsciously slapped to the water-soaked fabric clinging to her thighs, as if the door may commit some offensive act toward her. She turned faintly pink at Ash's comment, and sweatdropped after a moment, a nervous chuckle escaping her lips.
"Eh, heh... yeah..."

Should I really bother? Adine will be coming soon.... what shall I do with the kid? Eh, I'll just send her on her merry little way, unknowingly.

This just in't my day . Kat seemed worried too, from her odd glances. Taking a deep breathe, she folded her hands together. "Lt. Colonel Tsukiyama, I hope you understand that we were lost. After recently arriveded in Central due to a unfortunate iccident on the train. Me and my friend, were then subdued by the weather, and headed for the nearest shetler. Which was this building, here. No one offered any assistance to us, the fact that we are treated as tresspassers instead shocked me at first. How in the first place could children like us even pass the highly guarded security system?" she stated, in a confident voice.

Envy-san "Hello." He really wasnt in the mood. His violet eyes flashed in the dark as he spoke to the child. "What brings you here? He turned a little on his spot ontop of the fountain to face her. Envy cast a friendly grin down at the girl. "Hmmm?" Armony smiled apologetically, swiping a hand across her rain-soaked bangs to push them aside.
"Well, I'm sort of lost... I'm trying to find the... Central... HeadQuarters..." Armony's sentence trailed off, becoming softer with each word.
Did this man have purple eyes??
She tried not to make her surpsrise evident in her facial expression, but feared she was failing. Purple eyes just weren't quite... normal. She shrugged it off mentally.
I never HAVE been in this town before... that I can remember... so maybe it's not so unusual for people to have purple eyes...?
Ahh, the naivete of an eighteen year old...
Armony tried to shake the unpleasant feeling beginning to develop in her stomach. Why couldn't she relax around this man? He... certainly seemed harmless... She closed her crimson eyes momentarily, collecting herself. When she opened them, she smiled at Envy, more sure of herself this time.
"I'm looking for the Central HeadQuarters... I'm trying to find someone able and/or willing to teach me alchemy..." she bowed her head slightly.
"Possibly because I'm awful at it..."
She raised her head again, and looked off in one direction, then the next, trying to -- with little avail -- avoid his violet gaze. It made her uncomfortable, though she couldn't understand why. There was just... something wrong about this man... And she couldn't put her finger on it.

Armony Eiselstein Armony smiled apologetically, swiping a hand across her rain-soaked bangs to push them aside.
"Well, I'm sort of lost... I'm trying to find the... Central... HeadQuarters..." Armony's sentence trailed off, becoming softer with each word. "Well, you have found it." He kept an emotionless face. The child had found him in a bad situation. He had encountered kids all day, and frankly, he was sick of seeing them. This one had fear in her eyes, just like all the others. Armony Eiselstein Did this man have purple eyes??
She tried not to make her surpsrise evident in her facial expression, but feared she was failing. Purple eyes just weren't quite... normal. She shrugged it off mentally.
I never HAVE been in this town before... that I can remember... so maybe it's not so unusual for people to have purple eyes...? He looked back down at her and noticed she was staring right into his eyes in curiosity. When she noticed that he was staring back at her, she tore away. Armony Eiselstein Armony tried to shake the unpleasant feeling beginning to develop in her stomach.
Envy's eyes widened slightly and flickered once. Alchemist, eh? A smirk spread across his face. "Well, like I said before, you have found Central...... but, I cannot help you as far as alchemy goes." He watched her silently. She seemed to have some difficulty looking him in the eye, and was fidgeting around. Normal reaction. He positioned himself and then jumped lightly off the place he was sitting ontop of the fountain. He made no sound as he hit the ground and no footsteps were heard as he approached the girl. What should I do now? Oh! Hurry up, Adine! Feh, she's slow, as would be expected from a human.
