Flannery couldn't help but smile as Loki remained asleep, and she looked towards her timid Slugma, wondering what to try next. "Okay Megu, let's try something a little less fierce for now. Use your Ember attack!" she commanded, crossing her fingers behind her back.

Little Megu seemed to gather its courage, and it slithered forward a bit, opening its mouth wide and spewing out a small burst of flames towards Loki. Come on Megu, you can do it, Flannery thought, hoping her trusted Pokemon could handle the Cobra Pokemon.

Wake up Loki, Kasiya thought from the sidelines, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. While it was true she wouldn't be terribly disappointed if Flannery won, she didn't want to watch Keegan's Pokemon get pummeled into oblivion because it was sleeping. "Come on Loki! Snap out of it!" she shouted, standing up and clapping her hands. Levi jumped up as well, clapping her flippers together and shouting her own encouragement.

Kilik nodded over at Mike and said nothing as Shelly shot insults at his partner. His eyes wandered over to Sasha and he winced. She did look like she had been beaten more than a few times. When he heard the opening of two Pokeballs, the boy snapped back into reality and turned his attention to the battle.

"Of course," he laughed, tossing Scizor out of her Park Ball, "One Aqua Admin isn't good enough to take out two Admins from Team Magma and Team Rocket!" Scizor emerged from her ball, her arms crossed over her chest. The rain of sparkles and twinkling noise added a bit of flare to her entrance. The insect surveyed the opponents, her eyes locking on the Crawdaunt. Realizing that this was going to be a group effort, she took the time to notice her partner: that light-headed goofball of an Ampharos. With the opponents, however, she knew that Beacon would definitely be an asset. She crouched low to the ground, extending her pincers and awaited her first command.

Kilik snapped his fingers and pointed at the Crawdaunt. "Scizor, use that shiny new attack of yours!" The bug looked over her shoulder at Kilik with a quizzical expression upon her face, but then realized what he meant. The attack that she managed to use when he told her to follow her instincts. With that in mind, she broke into a run towards the lobster with her arms crossed over her chest.

Mike felt a bit uncomfortable at his partner's ease with disclosing such sensitive information. "Kilik, while I'm aware this get-up doesn't really hide much," Mike said, referring to his current dress. "Please try not to blab that out in the future. I'm not particularly proud of my dealings with Team Magma, alright?" Putting that aside, it was fightin' time. Mike watched Scizor shoot forward with ample dexterity and slash the Crawduant. He was very impressed with how Kilik had raised his Pokemon. "My turn!" He shouted. "Beacon, let's give that overgrown Seel a taste of your Thunderbolt!"

The Ampharos, who had taken a liking to his own reflection in the metal floor, took a few seconds to realize he was being ordered to attack. He perked up, looking frantically at which one he was ordered to attack. He had no idea what a Seel was, but he did recognize the Crawduant. He wondered why he was fighting one of Mike's Pokemon, but quickly pushed that thought outside his mind. He randomly picked a target, charged up, and fired a blast of electrical energy at the Walrien.

The Aqua admin cracked a smile at Beacon's antics. "That Pokemon is not too bright huh boy?" She chuckled, quickly returning to a serious demeanor. Silly or not, an Electric type was still a threat, and that other kid's insect could be an issue too. "Walrien, use your Surf attack, wash these fools away!" Shelly commanded, her voice echoing off the walls. "And Crawduant, Crabhammer the bug!" Shaking off the damage, The Ice Break Pokemon let out a deep chested roar that shook the room, letting loose a tremendous wave that raced towards Beacon and Scizor. Behind the wave, the admin's Crawduant sped towards the Steel Bug, ready to strike with his claw.

Sasha's ears rung painfully at Shelly's order. Man, calm down lady. She groaned, still quite uncomfortable. However, it had been confirmed that this Kilik was the same boy that she had hear about on the news. Maybe Mike didn't know about it? And what was all this 'admin of Team Magma' buisness she was hearing. I've heard you learn something knew everyday, but this is just ludicrous.

"Sorry, Mike," Kilik turned his attention from his partner to Scizor, who was swept away by the wave and thrown against the wall with a loud crash. He winced. Due to her weight, she left a Scizor-shaped dent in the wall. With a groan, she fell to the floor and pulled herself up. That rather hurt. The Pokemon looked at her chest and grimaced at the sight. The Crabhammer had left a crack in her armor plating. That overgrown piece of seafood was going to pay dearly for that.

Kilik clenched his fist tightly when he saw what had been done to his Pokemon. "No more Mr. Nice Guy," he growled. He swiped the air with arm and pointed at the Crawdaunt. "Attack with Fury Cutter, Scizor!"

Her face practically read 'with pleasure' as she broke into a run and slammed her claw right onto the star adorning Crawdaunt's forehead. When she managed to pull off a hit-and-run, the Steel-type felt a rush of energy flow through her. Her Fury Cutter just got a little stronger. If she could just keep attacking and hitting with Fury Cutter... Kilik thought, this will be in the bag.

The Crawdaunt gurgled in pain at the Fury Cutter attack, and swing in vain in hopes to retaliate against the Scizor. The bug was too fast. The Rogue Pokemon readied himself for the next attack, visibly shaken.

Mike took notice of the condition that the lobster was in, feeling having a Crawdaunt of your own helped in that regard. He figured now was the time for a joint attack "Beacon," The boy pointed to the enemy Pokemon, as to eliminate any mistaken targets this time. "use Signal Beam on the Crawdaunt, take him out!"

While Beacon wasn't certain as to why he was attacking one of his trainer's own Pokemon, Xanthos was always mean to him, so in a sense it evened out. At least, in his mind it did. Shaking off some water, The Light Pokemon (make sure you're seated for this one folks) concentrated hard. The red gem on his forehead began to flash a rainbow of colors. Beacon lowered his head and fired the attack at the already weakened Crawdaunt, hitting it square in the chest.

Shelly growled as her Pokemon collapsed in a heap. "Feh, anyone can gang up on a Pokemon." She recalled the Craqdaunt and readied her next Pokemon, releasing a Gorebyss. "It takes skill to battle two at once like I am! Walrien, Body Slam that adorable little sheep...thing!" With a frightening amount of speed, the walrus hurled itself at Beacon, using its weight to score a heavy hit on the Ampharos.

Mike shuddered at the very thought of that happening to him. "Hang in there Beacon, just a little more!" The boy cheered, hoping to get a few more attacks in before swapping him out.

"Ganging up?" Kilik repeated, crossing his arms and smirking, "Don't get it confused with team work. Something you wouldn't understand!" He turned to look at Mike and smiled before looking at Scizor and issuing another Fury Cutter. "Attack Walrein and protect Beacon while you're at it!" It felt good to battle alongside another trainer - it was something he didn't get to do very often. And since that trainer was Mike, the experience was that much better. The two of them worked together like a well-oiled machine, each gear moving because of the other.

She nodded and raised her claw, running at Walrein. The insect executed her attack, hoping for a hit. Should it work, her attack would become even stronger for the next time that she used it. Her mind went to Beacon and wondered if he'd be able to comprehend her protecting him and not taking the fun away from battling a massive walrus.

Shelly responded to Kilik's remark with a look of pure indifference. "You say teamwork I say cowardice that only goes away when you're with a friend. I bet you both would be whimpering in your boots if you were here on your own." She ordered her Gorebyss to perform Water Pulse on Scizor, and for her Walrien, another Surf to "drag them under".

"Dream on you self absorbed harlet!" Mike scoffed, he'd be laughing if the woman didn't royally tick him off like it was her job. But he knew that she was just trying to push his and Kilik's buttons. Despite how easy it was for him to lose his cool, he needed to focus, Beacon fainting now would be one of the worst things that could happen. He cursed himself for not buying a Hyper Potion or two. "Beacon, quick, use Thunderbolt on the Walrien before it has a chance to attack!" Mike knew that Beacon would be able to handle at least one more Surf, but he was stupid enough to forget to bring another Electric Pokemon with him, so he wanted to keep him with as much health as possible.

Beacon saw the walrus Pokemon prepare to unleash another tidal wave and began to panic. He didn't want to be hit by that move again. With a loud shrill cry, the Pokemon practically exploded in electrical energy, a wave of electricity launching from his body at every target in the field, including his ally. The Walrien's eyes widened at the attack and tried to get away, but was blasted in the back. It crashed to the ground, crackling with static electricity and unable to get back up. The Gorebyss was also struck by the attack, but it was still ready for more.

Keegan looked towards Kasiya when he heard her start to cheer, and was a little surprised to see that Levi was cheering too. He smiled at the duo and gave them a thumbs up, turning back to the battle as Megu moved forward, expelling an Ember attack at Loki. The small flames landed all around the sleeping Arbok, making painful sounding hissing noises as they licked at his scaly skin. The pain, combined with the encouraging shouts from Kasiya and the Marshtomp were enough to rouse the sleeping snake, and he shot up, hissing angrily.

"All right," Keegan laughed, pumping his fist into the air. "Now we're back in business. Okay Loki, let's show no mercy! Sludge Bomb attack, now!" The redhead thrust his arm forward, watching his Pokemon shake off the previous flame attack and open his mouth, quickly spitting out a thick glob of sludge towards the little Slugma. Let's see how it likes that, Keegan thought with a grin.

Kilik's fist shook. He was always against hitting women, but he suddenly felt that a swift punch or eight to her jaw would set her straight. He was about to call for Scizor to dodge the attack before he had to shield himself from the massive amount of energy that Beacon unleashed. He blinked, astounded at the power behind it. Beacon's definitely never done that before... Kilik thought, biting his lip. His ears twitched once he heard Scizor let out a slight cry of pain. "Scizor!" he cried out.

She was panting now, steam coming off her plating. Her body shivered slightly and she took a step forward, looking at the Gorebyss. The Pokemon knew that her master was going to call out for Fury Attack, so she raised her claw up. Now on the third strike of the attack, her pincer began to glow a bit. As she dashed forward, a bit of her armor chipped off her chest piece. She swung down, aiming for Gorebyss' forehead.

Kilik clenched his fist and felt a chill run down his spine. He closed his eyes and thought for a moment. When he infiltrated the Celadon Rocket Base, after defeating an Admin, Giovanni showed up. When Mike and the gang rescued him from Giovanni's grip the second time, they had just finished fighting a group of Admins before the Leader showed up. And when they planned to rescue his Scyther, after fighting the guards, Giovanni popped up once more. I have a strong suspicion that pattern is going to continue, he thought, Once we beat her, I'm certain Archie himself going to try and stop us alone.

That would be the best-case scenario.

"Ack, no!" Flannery cried, flailing her arms as Loki woke up, only to spit a horrible glob of gunk onto her beloved Slugma. "Megu!" she wailed, both hands going to her mouth as she waited to see what had become of her Pokemon. A gunk-covered Megu slithered from the mess a moment later, the heat of its body causing the sludge to smolder and burn, creating a foul-smelling smoke that quickly wafted throughout the gym. Flannery covered her nose with her hand, trying not to gag. "Disgusting," she said, her voice muffled. Seeing that her Pokemon was still able to fight, she raised her arm. "Okay Megu, it's time for us to get serious! Overheat!" she shouted almost gleefully, instinctively taking a step back.

Megu's small, amorphous body began to quiver, and the bubbling magma that was its body began to burst and hiss as steam was let out. The Slugma shut its eyes and flames seemed to erupt from every pore on its body, shooting out in all directions and covering the battlefield in intense heat. Flannery shielded her face with her arms, a wide grin plastered to her face the entire duration of the attack.

Kasiya too had shielded herself from the attack, turning towards the gym's wall to keep the heat from her face. "Holy smoke!" she cried, almost feeling a bit faint from the overwhelming heat that seemed to come from everywhere. It died down after a second, the already-warm air of the Lavaridge Gym feeling strangely welcoming and cool in comparison to the effects of the Overheat. I hope my Pokemon can withstand something like that... Kasiya thought, gulping.

"Oh, shi-" Keegan muttered, the rest of his statement drowned out by the intense heat and flames that then exploded from the Slugma. He had to turn from the burst of fire, feeling the sweat break out on his forehead. He slipped his arms out of his long overcoat and let it drop to the ground behind him, revealing the plain, grey t-shirt he wore underneath. "Loki?" he called, feeling a bit of relief as the Arbok raised his head to turn and look at his trainer, his long, slender body severely burned in places. Keegan winced and nodded his head. "You all right to continue, buddy? 'Cause if you want to stop, that's not a problem."

Loki looked towards the Slugma, who also was looking like it didn't have much left to give. Rising tall, Loki got into a battle stance, clearly stating that he wasn't giving up until he'd finished off that little blob of magma.

"That's my boy," Keegan said proudly. "Poison Sting attack, go!" The Arbok hissed viciously, opening his fanged mouth wide as a volley of poisonous needles were shot forward. Come on, Loki! Don't let me down!
PostPosted: Sun May 11, 2008 6:08 pm

Megu, utterly exhausted from using Overheat, had nothing left to dodge the barrage of vicious needles Loki launched at him, and the Slugma gave a little squeal before slumping, or rather, oozing into a blob on the floor, unable to continue. The referee raised the blue flag, then pointed the red one to Megu. "Slugma is unable to battle, victory goes to Arbok!" he shouted.

As Flannery recalled Megu, his picture faded from the board from a colour photo to a grayed-out one. She sighed, looking at the Pokeball lovingly. "You were awesome, Megu. Magu would be very proud of you, and I am too." She kissed it before setting it back onto her belt, and looked to Keegan. "I hope you enjoyed that win, Keegan, 'cause it's the last one you're gonna get from me!" she shouted as she unhooked a second Pokeball from her belt and flung it. A very large Pokemon erupted from the sphere, taking up a good portion of the battlefield - a Camerupt. The new Pokemon's picture filled in the second box on Flannery's side of the scoreboard even as she issued her command. "All right Camerupt, let's finish off this obnoxious snake! Earthquake, now!"

The Camerupt roared and rose up on its hind legs, still bellowing loudly. Its eyes crossed and became bloodshot as it slammed its front hooves down on the gym's earthen floor with all its might, sending a mighty shock wave traveling through the ground.

"Yes," Kasiya cried happily, clapping as Megu was finally defeated. "Way to go, Loki!" she called out excitedly. Levi was also clapping, happy that her trainer was happy, but for no real reason other than that one. The sight of the Camerupt made both Kasiya and Levi stop though, as they both studied the large Pokemon curiously. "Oh my," Kasiya whispered, picking up Levi and setting her in her lap as the Earthquake attack tore through the gym.

The sun was just starting to set over Cerulean City the bright rays making the city of water shine in a very beautiful way. To bad they couldn't spend all that much time there. All Robin could really do was get her pokemon healed at the pokemon center before they had to head out. As she waited for Luffy and Razputin to get healed for the trip Robin decided to call her parents up. Pulling out her pokenavi she called her home number hoping that they were home to pick up.

"Hello. This is Mrs. Knight speaking."

"Mom!" Robin had only been gone for a day and she all ready missed her mother.

"Oh Robin! How is your adventure going? Are you and Luffy having a good time?" Her mom sounded very happy to be hearing from her daughter.

"Our adventure is coming along great. I all ready captured my first pokemon to! He is a little Yanma who got into the Bug Catching contest earlier." Robin happily explained her trip so far to her mother who listened happy to hear about her daughters adventures.

"Well it sounds like you have been very busy. So about the Beach Party that you mentioned. Did you happen to pack your bathing suit? You are going to need it if you want to attract the boys." She teased over the phone.

Feeling her face heat up. "Mom!" She protested. "But no I didn't..." She felt her shoulders sink at the thought. She couldn't go to a beach party with no bathing suit.

Her mom chuckled over the phone. "That is ok honey. How about before you head off to Hoenn you make a stop by our house and we can go get you a new one."

"Really?" Robin brightened up at the thought of seeing her mother again.

"Of course sweetie. Now I better let you go. Call me before you head over and I will see about meeting you at the train station."

Both of them said there good byes before hanging up. It seemed like the phone call had taken up the time that Nurse Joy had needed to heal her pokemon seeing as Luffy came bounding over to her Razputins pokeball in his tail hand. Scooping him up Robin giggled slightly as she placed Razs' pokeball on her belt and headed back out to Ampersand. They still had to make the trip though Mnt. Moon.

Keegan said nothing as Loki's Poison Sting had been enough to defeat Megu, and he folded his arms over his chest, smirking at Flannery. "We'll take whatever you dish out," he called out after she made the comment about him not being able to beat her again. His eyes opened wide at the sight of the Camerupt though, and even Loki, the confident, tough Arbok looked a bit shaken up at the sight of their massive opponent. "This is nothing!" Keegan shouted, his voice cracking a little as he heard the call for Camerupt to use Earthquake. The only thing he could do was watch in terror as the attack wreaked havoc upon the battlefield, and when the shaking finally stopped, Loki lie in a heap on the ground, completely out of it.

"Loki!" Keegan cried, taking a step forward, but stopping and clenching a fist. You were awesome, Loki, he thought, as the referee announced Camerupt as the winner. Keegan recalled his partner, looking up at the scoreboard in dismay as Loki's image became greyed out as well. He studied Camerupt for a moment, thinking for a moment. Camerupt is part fire and part ground, he told himself, slamming a fist into his palm. Water will be devastating against it! With that, he flung his next Pokeball, grinning as Althena materialized in front of him. The Golduck's arms were crossed, and her eyes were already narrowed, as though she'd been expecting to be a big part of this battle. She unfolded her arms and took a battle stance, both clawed hands poised to attack.

Keegan saw Althena's picture light up in the scoreboard a second later, and he grinned. The water type's evolution had been timed perfectly, and he couldn't wait to see her work against Camerupt. "Okay Althena, it's show time! Blast that Camerupt with your Water Pulse!" Moving like a martial artist, the Golduck stepped forward. The red jewel on her forehead glimmered as she held out her hands, causing a small ball of blue energy to form and grow. She then launghed it at the Camerupt, and it grew larger in its flight, plusating and sending droplets of water flying in all directions. Flannery's not gonna like this, Keegan thought with a smirk. She hates water type Pokemon!

Shelly released her final Pokemon, a Starmie. "Alright you damn kids, I've been nice up until now," The admin fumed, clenching her fists. "But now I'm mad!" She glared at her Pokemon, almost more angry at them than the two intruders. "Starmie, use Bubblebeam on that Scizor! Gorebyss, dodge that attack!" Apparently sick of that metallic mantis, Shelly ordered the attack. Gorebyss slithered quickly out of the way of the Scizor's Fury Cutter attack, almost mockingly so, as the Starfish Pokemon fired a surprisingly fast stream of explosive bubbles at the off balanced Pokemon.

"Now who is ganging up on who you hypocrite?" Mike watched as the attack headed straight for Scizor, knowing it was over. But he would make them pay for it. "Okay Beacon, I want you to hit that Gorebyss with a Thunderbolt. That's the pink one, not the starfish!"

Beacon fluttered forward, his body cracking with electricity. After a momentary charge, he fired a concentrated blast towards the pink serpent, scoring a direct hit. Beacon trilled in happiness as he saw the Pokemon flop to the ground, and disappear in a flash of red light.
