Luniya didn't really see the point of going through all this to prove the elf was wrong. She followed them anyway, but she was becoming worried because this little endeavor woulde set their trip back. The outburst from Tyr really shocked Luniya. Tyr seemed shy and stayed to herself. When she heard her shouting in Elven, Luniya's eyes became wide. What he said was pretty belittling considering that Tyr was a half-elf. She looked at Flint while Ashe spoke to him, then turned to follow the others. Does this elf really have anything to do with us. Chances are he'll run away during the contest.

Luniya's was happy to be moving away from all the blood. Her dizziness was going away. She came along side Usrah, "You okay Usrah? You seem sad," she said so only he could hear. Usrah went through a tragedy just like Luniya did, She started to grip her dead siblings, a habit that she did when she felt uneasy or slightly unsure about something. She glanced at Lin who seemed to be very alert, which made Luniya even more worried and cautious.

Usrah lifted his head and turned it to face Luniya. Indeed, his eyes were carrying sadness and a hint of anger. He began to whisper back at her.

"I do not like this at all. How could they ignore the instincts of a paladin? I have trained for over 9000 years on the detection, sanctification, and elimination of all that is evil. Every carries some darkness within them, but when it is overwhelming, like that of a demon, they can not be saved. He cannot be saved. To keep him alive could mean the death of hundreds. However, the others do not seem to understand that. But, then again, how could I expect any of them to understand?"

He looked back down at the ground and continued walking with Luniya. He removed a beautiful red flower, a geranium, from a pouch on his belt. He looked upon it, turning it in his hand.

"I just miss Eva..."

His mind drifted off into a time long ago, far beyond the existance of his companions.

"Bah, lighten up, or I'm going to have to force ya" Flint said, getting up slowly to follow the group.
He found this whole affair pretty useless, and Usrah fairly irritating. All he talked about was his job as a paladin and riding the world of evil. The world was huge, and constantly changed. Flint thought this guy's job was a bit much, having to go everywhere to constantly kill things.
In the back of Flint's mind that never, ever, pays attention to what's going on, the thought I wonder if he ever laughed, smiled, or even had fun a day in his life, he seems so serious passed by.

Luniya glared at Flint, he was right though. Usrah was always so serious or sad. She sighed, "Listen Usrah, if anybody knows about tragedy it's me. My own parents killed my two brothers and sister. I lost three people that I love and I have to live with that everyday. The guilt of being too weak to help them really hurt, but I let it go. Just like you need to let Eva go. I'm sure she doesn't want you live this sad life."

Luniya became quiet and thought about her siblings. She missed them dearly. She watched Usrah play with the flower. Her eyes were watery, but she wiped the tears away, and put a smile on.

Usrah completely ignored Flint. Had his tiny companion been of the evil persuasion, he not have hesitated to slay him, but that was not the case. He simply did not understand and that is often approached with insincerity.

"It is much easier for you to forget, Luniya. Their deaths were not your fault. The death of Eva was made possible because I set free an evil man against my will. As soon as he was free, he built himself an army and began to wage war against all nations. He knew of Eva and made perfectly sure that he would kill her just to spite me. I will find him and I will kill him. Once this quest of mine is finished, I can finally be happy. I plan to travel to the Heavens and ask them to willingly take me, unless I can find a way to bring Eva back into this world. As an elder herself, we could live together forever."

He looked into her eyes.

"Do you not see? I am driven by faith and nothing can stop that."

"Well, get on with this, I really want to get going, otherwise I'll head out on my own...actually scratch that. Won't be smart on my end" Flint said, finding this time a fallen tree to sit on.
He noticed Luniya's eyes water. "You alright?" he asked quietly, then saw her smile. "I'll take that as a 'not really but I'll live'?" he added, smiling himself and picking up a large stick to carve. It was what he did normally when he was bored, or had nothing to do.

Luniya looked at Usrah almost with disgust. I didn't forget. I would never do that. "I'm fine Flint, some people just don't like help. Thanks for asking", she replied to Flint. Her eyes were turning yellow. She was becoming upset. "Don't you get it Usrah, I could have easily saved them. I was knocked out. Things may have turned out differently if I was conscious. Just like you can't control what people do neither can I," she shouted at him on accident. She didn't understand him. She walked in front of him and looked him in the eyes, herself with watery eyes. "Just let go Usrah, your life would be much easier." She turned her head away and blinked hard.

Flint raised an eyebrow. The bit in the back of his mind told him not to do anything but he rarely listened.
He hopped off the log, standing against it, looking at the two in front of him. If anything violent was going to happen, he was ready to do...
Something.
He sat back down on the log, then realized that was his answer. Put up a small wall. Oh well, he doubted it would come to blows, Usrah didn't seem to be the type.

Usrah strained himself, doing his very best not to lash out. His breathing, however, became heavy.

"How can I 'just let it go'? I have been training myself nearly to death all of this time so that I may avenge Eva. I have come too far to just let it all go. To do that would be a disgrace to her, me, and my entire family."

He paused for a moment, his eyes become glazed.

"Maybe you are right. Maybe I should just let it go and realize that my entire life has been a complete waste. My dream of creating a world without evil... a mere fairytale. My years of training... nothing more than the failed efforts of a helpless man desperately trying to reunite with his one and only love in some way."

He looked at the ground.

"Do you truly mean what you say or are you just angry?"

Luniya looked at Usrah. "You think that is what Eva wants?" She became calm. Her eyes turned their normal color again. "Yes, I do mean what I say Usrah, even though I am angry as well, I mean every word." She started fiddling with her fingers and ears started to twitch.

Usrah continued to look down at the ground.

"If I were to just give it all up now... I would not know what to do. I would have no point in doing anything. A warrior without purpose is simply a man with a sword. What do you suggest one would do in such a situation?"

"Find another one. Another passion, another love, another life. Living in the past isn't going to help you, and neither is living just for revenge." Ashe had been listening to the conversation and figured that it was time to step in. "I'm not saying that your training wasn't wasted years, since your an elder, but the reason for taking up a sword was wrong. I'm in agreement with Luniya, don't forget her, but don't dwell on it. The want to create a world without evil is a noble cause, but is was brought about with the need to avenge someone. A world like that could never last."

Usrah shook his head when he heard Ashe's suggestion.

"Another passion? If I give up on ridding the world of evil, that would most likely mean that I would no longer be a paladin, and thus lose many of my powers. I may even be banished from House Iroziel, never to see my family again. Or worse, they may have me killed. There are many branches of House Iroziel, some of which are quite tainted. They serve the higher branch and are responsible for assassinations of traitors of the House. Because of my reputation and rank, they will waste no time in disposing of me. As for love, I do not find many of the elder women all that pleasant. Most of them are mages who spend much of their time performing experiments and gathering research for House Iroziel. Eva was a paladin, much like myself. She did not believe in the older traditions of men being the warriors and women being the mages."

He paused for a moment and sighed.

"You see, it is not so easy to change in the House Iroziel. I am far from the proper retirement age, which would be the only legitimate means of leaving my paladin rank. I am virutally limited to two options: I can continue with my quest or die."

"I think what she means-" Flint cut in, who had just finished putting the first verse of a gnomish song on his tree branch.
"Is to not be over-zealous in the whole thing. Or to do your quest while also living life. Go find a city near a cemetery with zombies and vampires and Necromancers and the like" Flint joked, hoping to get a smile out of Usrah.
"Or stick with us. Our quest, adventure, whatever, has to do with getting rid of some evil. Besides, it'd be good for you to hang out with us, we can try to lighten you up a bit" he finished by looking back down at his work to continue.

Luniya listened to Ashe and Flint and how stubborn Usrah was. "Usrah, they're right. Live your life the way you want to. Ridding the world of evil is a noble thing to do, but you shouldn't carry the whole world on your back. That is why there is more than one paladin right?" Luniya stretched her arms out and put them behind her head. She smirked, "And if they do try to kill you, you can always run away. That would be exciting, trust me I've been on the run before. As for love who says you have to love an elder." She smiled the hugest smile any of her companions had ever seen. She was happy now for some odd reason. She started howling she was so happy, which is something rare for her to do. She usually would try to hide the cannibal side of her, but couldn't help it. Her howl was indeed beautiful though.
