*coughnocough* He looked into that and it is specifically a driver free device. And I'm thinking the windows updates actually may have something to do with it. He doesn't have them... wink

Windows is a complicated beast of APIs built upon APIs. Even though they "claim" that Windows isn't based on DOS anymore, it still has the weird nasties that are associated with an overlayed GUI, ala Win98 and such. They key is, the more complicated a piece of software is, the more there is that can go wrong. I'm surprised WinXP is as stable (usually) as it is.

Yeah... he tried it out on a friends computer who has the same hardware and software so for some reason his is just faulty. He's going to format and reinstall when he has a chance and see if that helps.
