A little embarassed that Silvertail was grooming her out in the open, she quickly scuttled backward and sat looking at Silvertail. "It's about time you woke up!" she joked. "It was like you were sleeping for a moon!" Remembering what Torrentstar had asked her, she quickly changed the subject. "Torrentstar wants you to wake up Mooneye." She said in a low voice. The way Torrentstar had said it was almost uncaring; it still frightened her just thinking about it. Moonkit bent down and gently picked a single thorn out of her pad. "Ouch!" She exclaimed the second she started tugging. Not wanting to make it look like she couldn't pull it out herself, she simply pretended not to notice it.
ooc:// Also, what are we going to do about a medicine cat? I mean, we need some way for us to communicate with Starclan, right?//

((Correct me if I'm wrong, but we don't have a deputy either. I would love to take another character... but I simply can't handle one right now. Maybe when the person I'm covering for comes back, I'll think about making yet another character. rolleyes ))

((Well here's the thing, that's pretty much what this meeting will be about, and i was thinking of making Mooneye medicine cat but she's blind and that could make things difficut but if you don't have any objections to a blind medicine cat then that's what i'll do because we do need one... also as for the deputy thing... Duskheart would you mind if i made Dampfoot deputy? ok ok ok you guys let me know your thoughts sweatdrop ))
Torrentstar saw Dampfoot and became more alert and sensitive to the cats around him. He nodded back to Dampfoot and then to Sunfeather and Hawkfire shifting his weight on his haunches, as he waited for the rest of the clan to assemble.
Silvertail stopped licking Moonkit as she pulled away and mewed in response to Torrentstar's request, "Oh, ok then." She glanced in Torrentstar's direction. He seemed distracted and serious. "You should go over there and sit." She turned her ears toward the small group forming in the middle of the clearing to signify what she meant.
She then rose to her feet and bounded across the clearing again, happy and cheerful as always. She had a bit of trouble finding Mooneye at first she wasn't in the Elder's den but she found her eventually sleeping beside a bush near the edge of the camp. She approahed the sleeping cat happily.
"Mooneye!" She purred, "Mooneye get up silly elder!"
"Don't you ever call me that!" Mooneye snapped her head up and hissed at Silvertail. She calmed down after a moment and got to her feet. "I was already up anyways, no need to yell." She meowed grumpily, blinking her unseeing eyes. She followed Silvertail to the middle of the camp, she knew that they were gathered, she was up before Torrentstar and could hear him rise all the way in his den, she simply didn't feel like getting up until it was deemed necessary. She laid down on her belly when they got to the middle of the camp and nodded in the direction Torrenstar's scent came from.
((Btw i don't remember what the "high rock" was for Riverclan... if anyone remembers tell me but for now we'll just say that they gathered around Torrenstar like you would around a bonfire? just for now until i have time to come up with something more creative xD ))

Moonkit nodded and bounced over to where the cats were gathering. Easily squeezing through the crowd because of her small size and the size of the clan, she navigated towards the front and plopped down. She decided it would be best to get the thorn out now, so she gently lifted her paw up and looked at her pad. This is gonna hurt... She thought, then yanked as hard as she could. The thorn was out. She refused to let anyone hear her yelling again, so she squeezed her eyes as tight as she could for a few seconds, then relaxed when the pain subsided. A quick glance around the crowd told her that everyone was very tense, probably not knowing the bad news. Moonkit sighed, her whole body relaxed as she waited for the gathering to start.
ooc:// Can I start calling Moonkit Moonpaw yet? I know she doesn't have an official mentor yet, but... sweatdrop //

((I have no objections... but of course I'm going to make my character want the deputy position xp ))
Rainfur licked his chest to clean his fur then sat proudly in front of Torrenstar.
I wonder if he's going to choose a deputy... he thought.
He didn't want to seem like he was ambitous, but he really wanted that position. He knew he wasn't a senior warrior, so he didn't try to get his hopes up too high.

Torrentstar noticed the kit's wince and impatient sigh. His features softened automatically and his eyes smiled at her. But then he lifted his head again when Mooneye and Silvertail came to join the group. "Mooneye." Torrentstar said in acknowledgement instead of nodding. He lifted his head and gazed at all of the cats sitting around him. "Is this everyone?"
Mooneye nodded. She could smell each one of the cat's individual scents and she could tell that all of them were present. Except for Sandpaw of course.
Torrentstar nodded again. "Cats of Riverclan, we have much to discuss, but not much time." He glanced up at the sun. It was now positioned in the middle of the sky directly above their heads. "I will start by telling the cats that could not attend the gathering, that it was a peaceful one, as always. Windclan, seems to have had the worst time this moon. They've endured two dog fights, one caused one of their apprentices to join Starclan, the last, was the one that Sandpaw....got caught in." He stared off into the distance in thought as he mewed his last words. Within a second after he said them, he shook his head and continued, "Although, Smallstar, Windclan's leader, nor Shadowclan's leader Greystar were present. All the other clans seem to be content otherwise." He wasn't sure what emotion showed on his face as he almost hissed the anouncements of the absent leaders. He wasn't sure exactly how he felt about that but he wasn't happy about it. He quickly moved on. "Now I told Dragoneyes, the deputy of Windclan, that i would be coming just after sunhigh to see Sandpaw and take him back to our territory. But I will need one other cat to come with me and I've chosen Rainfur." He looked at the warrior meaningfully and mewed softly. "If you accept please meet me just outside the camp when the meeting is done." He looked back at the clan. "While I am gone, I am putting Dampfoot in charge of the clan." He turned his meaningful stare on Dampfoot. "At this time those are all the announcements that I have." He flicked his tail to signal that they were dismissed and approached Dampfoot.
"Dampfoot I am putting alot of trust in you." He whispered and looked into Dampfoot's eyes feircely. In his eyes he showed all the love and trust he had for his clan and all the cats in it and how important they were to him. That's why he was going to Windclan himself and that was why he had chosen Dampfoot to be in charge, because he knew he could trust her.
((I am also going to comment about Moonkit so don't worry cupid))

Silvertail glanced around for Moonkit when the meeting was done. But before she could locate her Torrenstar approached her. "Silvertail walk with me." She was surprised that it was more of a request than an order but she followed despite the tiny shock. She caught up to him padding beside him as he lead her away from the bustling group of cats. He slowed his pace. "What is it Torrentstar?" She purred. He stopped and sighed.
"Silvertail, I know it's been hard for you to watch Moonkit grow up so fast. I can see how much you love her and you want her to be a kit forever so that you can protect her. I understand the feeling. I just wanted to let you know that today when I return from Windclan I am going to grant her a mentor and an apprentice name. She is quite old enough now and I can see she's getting restless being stuck in the camp all day." He smiled thinking of the impish kit.
Silvertail was even more surprised now and even a little terrified. If Moonkit became an apprentice, then she would have almost complete freedom. Her smile and bounce disappeared completely and she just nodded not meeting Torrentstar's eyes. She knew she wouldn't have been able to avoid it forever but it just seemed to soon, Moonkit still was so young to her. She took a deep breath and composed herself looking up at her leader. "Ok Torrentstar she'll be ready." She couldn't bring herself to smile.
Torrentstar nodded and left to meet Rainfur.

Moonkit looked down at her paws. She had hoped that she would be apprenticed tonight, yet she knew that there was much to be done before something so small could be accomplished. Arching her back and strethcing her paws out infront of her, she let out a gaping yawn. I wonder what there is to do... She thought to herself. Perhaps she could sneak ou-- No, not when she was so close to apprenticeship. She longed for someone closer to her age that she could play-fight with. So far, the running leaves and few twigs that she found had not been formiddable opponents. Turning, she headed for a dirt patch in the ground that had been her favorite spot to play, rest, and observe ever since she had come to Riverclan. No matter what, it was always seemingly peaceful there.

Rainfur's heart was bursting with pride.
"I got choosen by Torrenstar! he thought happily.
He nodded quickly and padded outside camp, catching glances with Moonkit.
Silvertail must be so proud of her...
Once outside camp, he spotted Torrenstar. He bowed his head in respect. "I'm ready. he mewed, head held high.

((ok so here's the thing guys... i made a medicine cat profile for Riverclan. And since it would be awkward for her to just *appear* i'm going to start her off as just a normal warrior and she'll be given a ceremony just like the deputy and Moonkit...they'll all be at the same time...and I know there are certain rules.. like the warrior is supposed to have been a mentor at least once before becoming deputy, and the medicine cat is supposed to be a medicine cat apprentice first but of course, considering the circumstances, i think we can make an exception...I'll keep it as close to the book as possible ; ) ok thankyou! Pebblefoot will be among you soon HURRAY 4laugh ))
Torrentstar nodded and headed in the direction of Windclan territory. His thoughts were far away in the Windclan camp... with Sandpaw... He thought of him there alone in the middle of a camp that was not his own. Torrentstar flicked his ear to clear the image, Sandpw awas not a kit and Windclan was not holding him prisoner they were doing him a favor, taking care of his... injuries. Torrentstar felt a pang of guilt. Why hadn't he been there to protect Sandpoaw? What if Windclan hadn't showed up? Would his apprentice be with ... Starclan now? He couldn't help but blame himself. He squeezed his eyes closed and snapped them open again. They had just reached the edge of the reeds outside of camp. He sat and motioned for Rainfur to do the same. Then he spoke. "Rainfur, when we cross the Windclan border we will be going deep into their territory. If you smell a patrol do not be alarmed they know we are coming so I expect that they will have some kind of lookout for us. If not, then we will wait for them to find us outside their camp. Do not be afraid." He said his last words individually empasizing this part. The last thing Torrentstar wanted was Riverclan fear scent all over Windclan territory it might make them think that they had more planned than just to pick up thier apprentice.
((ok one more thing... in the Windclan Rp it's still the night of the gathering and they'll be just going to sleep so... when their time is almost matched with ours then i will start roleplaying in that thread. soon soon))

Also, I could make another character for medicine cat, if we really need one that desperately, but.. I may be liable to making a few mistakes, seeing as well.. It's something I've never done before.

Dampfoot received Torrentstar's words with the deepest pride.
She puffed her chest out slightly and gave a bold nod.
"I understand, Torrentstar." She said, fierce loyalty and determination making the statement sound a little more stern than she intended. A subconcious, almost apologetic flick of the ears was given before the proud she-cat continued; "You can trust me. The clan is in safe paws under my watch, I swear on it."
It was all too obvious to Dampfoot how much Torrentstar cared for his clan, and she was suddenly grateful she had been born into RiverClan.
Dampfoot watched as her leader gathered his wits and padded smoothly out of the clearing.
Only once he had moved completely out of sight did she excuse herself, trudging over to the fresh-kill pile ( which didn't currently look all too fresh ), and poking around in search of something decent.
With a scrawny vole clenched between her strong jaws, the silver femme moved to one side slightly, settling down in a comfortable spot where she could both consume her meal and watch over the clearing.
She dearly hoped that Sandpaw was in good health, and that Torrentstar would bring him back safe and sound.

Moonkit watched Torrentstar and Rainfur for a moment, then looked at Dampfoot. I wonder who Torrentstar is going to make deputy? She thought while digging her claws in the dirt. The way Torrentstar was acting, it was obviously going to be either Dampfoot or Rainfur... Both would make great deputies. After pondering on that for but a few seconds, she looked at the fresh kill pile. It was easy to tell by the disturbing scent radiating from it that most of it was not fresh. Her stomach roared at her to get a piece, but she guessed the warriors would need it so they could go get more fresh kill. Moonkit could wait until then. Maybe they would send a patrol out while Torrentstar was gone. Or maybe she could go get some fresh ki-- no, she had to stop thinking those mischevious little thoughts. In order to be apprenticed, she had to set aside her devious ways for a short while. Releasing a long sigh, she rolled onto her side and let the scent of the reeds fill her nostrils as she watched the clearing from that dirt-covered patch of ground.
