"It's time to wake up..."
The weight of the world collapsed upon his shoulders. He could feel the darkness breathing upon his neck as it consumed him so. And yet, with a tearing at his soul, an awakening began to take place.
"Come on...Live life as if you were to die tomorrow. Feel as if you were to be reborn now. Face as if you were to live forever."
Slowly, the chains upon his wrists and ankles began to shift and stutter. Soft moans leaked from his slightly parted lips as the air became distilled around him. "Die tomorrow...but reborn...now...? Live forever..." The rattling of chains continued onward as they set a steady-set beat for the drum within his own delusional mind.
"I...don't understand..." With a limp head and a bloodied jowl, the words rolled out of his mouth and into the air. But as they floated about, they were only to sink back into the shadows that were his existence. This only seemed to fuel the beast within.
"I don't understand..." His words sharpened by the self-loathing knowledge of not knowing what to make of it.
"I don't understand." Straining at the chains, the sounds of dismay began to brew and rise. His breath soon began to become sporadic. The mind was decaying with each passing moment. Time was running thin, along with his stability. It was only a matter of time before he decided to scream out in a dreaded hatred.
"I don't understand!" Like an erupting volcano, the man shouted out as he pulled at his bindings. Savagely, he thrashed about with cries of despair and insanity bogging his mind. But as if his screams of chaos were seem to continue on for all of eternity, a sudden strike slashed through the air and made contact with the steel-plated flooring.
The screams were silenced.
The body remained limp.
As the deafening stillness crept over the desolate cell, an ominous beacon of light could be shown through the shrouded shadows. Distant at first, it grew in power. Soon, the figure of an eye could be seen as the sounds of light chains rattled about.
Emerging from the darkness by the guidance of the red light was a man with steel cuffs around his ankles and wrists. Blood streaked across his blade as he dragged it limply upon the worn ground. With a smile and a smirk, the creature of the shadows questioned the silence of the cell, "...What creature is it that invokes the malice and confusion of all mankind? What is it that makes us all succumb to crippling to fears? And where...? Where is the son of Sun Bao?"

"Nice to meet you Sun Kang, but I think most of us aren't as much after the one thing, as we are generic survival." Syx shrugged, "I personally doubt it's existence, but then again I've known stranger artifacts as a child, even kind of a product from one." She let out a soft sigh, wishing communication was up for just a bit, all she needed would have been one call, one lousy call for advice on what to do. Then again at least now she could learn a lesson on her own, no more babying by the folks. "We could definitley use another gun on hand, at the meantime however we aren't so sure who the enemy is, other than their leader. Most of the attack force has melded in with the rest of the prisoners and the main crowd."
She glanced at Garret and nodded, "I have a guess, but it's kind of like looking for bigfoot."
She didn't want to discuss the eye much more, it was something that left her slightly unnerved. So instead she turned her thoughts to saving the ship, she flipped the key card in her palm, looking at it. Someone in the hall had said something about seeing the tail end of a ship outside. The ship was probably Pendari's. With a key card the docks could be accessed, and if they got a hold of this ship... She turned her head to Skarlowey. "Hey, Eight, or spy..or yeah whatever, how well can you fake boobs?"

The marshal tilted up her hat, with a half smirk. "Mouthy for a spy, aren't you? " Syx tossed the key card to Skarloey. "Think you could play Pendari for a little bit? If you pull her off well enough we might be able to use that key card to head to the docks, and board her ship. I'm sure she has working communication on her ship after all. Maybe even some fancy toys that could help us out on this end." She smiled, hooking a thumb in her belt as her stance relaxed into a casual tilt. "Think you could pull that off, Spy?"

"Bloodthirsty, angsty, and generally bitchy should suffice for personality I think." Syx shrugged, "can't really say though, don't know her myself. You can ask Jarred, he'd tell you." She turned, "now I need to go after that lead, and pick up a couple more cards." She tossed Skarloey her com-system. "Call Jarred, get some info on Pendari, and I'll be back here in a flash." Syx turned down the hallway, heading towards Arix's cell.

Garret followed Syx cause he didn't have anything else to do. "I bet you if I wanted to, I'd be able to find bigfoot. I did once, actually. But I let him go...cause...you know...I wanted to." He said nodding. "Yeah, he was a nice guy. Had a temper tho-HOLY CRAP!" He added when he saw the body bleeding on the floor.

Syx nodded, "Sure, Garret, sure, did I ever tell you I was raised by an angel and a blood mage..." She paused as she saw the scene before her. "Well isn't that a kicker."
She made her way over to Arix and started checking his vitals. "Can you hear me?" She asked him.
