Brooke wriggled from her bush, and padded over to Brazen.

'Heeeey!' She complained, butting him in the shoulder neatly with her nose. 'You cheated!'

Then she noticed the pink-to-red cub, suddenly seeming so much smaller than herself. She lowered herself into a crouch so her head was level with Kerai's.

Then she stopped.

'Wait. If I'm so much bigger than...' She paused, and looked down at herself. She had grown too! She grinned over at Rellick. 'I may still be smaller than you, but I grew!'

Rellick beamed at Brooke and poked at her with a paw, laughing softly. "So you did."

The sound of Hyena laughter came to him. 'Dad.'

Without another thought, he turned and bounded after his father. 'I'm big... I'll help... Won't dad be shocked?'
He laughed, then spotted his scarlet father and slid to a stop just behind him. "DAD!"

The tiny white form crouched beneath Rackna's scarlet body caught Rellick's eye. 'Another cub?'

Briseis was shocked of someone shouting from behind Rackna and jumped stumbling out from his protections and rolling a few yards in front of him, far enough for the hyena's to get a pleaseant attack but Briseis had forgotten about the them and was staring at the other lion that looked some what identical Rackna, and her tail was flicking in the air curiously, little did she know a hyena was watching her slobbering on itself.

"Hey! Brazen! Wait up!" Kerai shouted, picking up her paws and sprinting after him as fast as her short little legs could go.

Rellick shooed Brooke back and reached toward Briseis, grabbing her scruff like his mother had always done to him. He scrambled backwards and backpeddled a few steps, slinking away from the hyenas.
'Damn.. He doesn't look too pleased.' His mind giggled.
Rellick ingnored the voice, mumbling to the cub. "I'm Rellick.. I've gotcha.. How about we get away from these drooling beasts?"

Giving Brooke another shove toward home, Rellick leapt into a run, racing toward safety. He nodded a hello at the sight of his sister, Jadera, trotting toward him. "You ok little one?"

Jade approached him and gave him a glare. "Father will come yell at you when this is all through..."

Rell just shrugged. "So?"

All intelligent thought faded from the Silver King's mind. He was acting on instincts alone as the two King and hyena's brawled. The lion was dimly aware of the old injuries he had sustained from the creatures had pulled open.

He remembered nothing until the last strains of the triumphant roar died in the air. The pain of his wounds slowly seeped in and he gave the ones he could reach a good lick. One of the creatures had bit him on the leg. A nice score of claw marks ran down his left side. Otherwise he was fine.

"Sorry, Rackna. I couldn't help swinging back."

Tay startled awake, gaining her feet. The teal eyes peered towards the fight. "They need help..." Not with the fighting, oh no, Tay-yibah was a not fighter. The two kings would have gained injuries and she somehow knew how to heal them.

It took little for Brooke to get the idea. She took off after Rellick, watching him carefully, and she wondered if he was carrying the cub right. Not that she would have been much help if it had been her to carry the cub and sprint away from hyenas anyway.

'Huh... Your dad didn't look too pleased, did he?' She bit her lip slightly as she threw a worried look over her shoulder at the bloody battle between the two lions and the hyenas.

She nosed at the striped cub curiously.
'You're okay, aren't ya?' She looked fine, but Brooke wanted to make sure. It was terrifying for any cub, a first encounter with hyenas. The cub looked a little pale, too, but it was hard to tell - she was already so white.
