"So, how would you like to enter? Would you like to ride in on Glaedr's back, or would you like for him to walk in with us, then have me transform him in front of the elves?"

Blushing deeply, she seemed to shy away for a moment before speaking softly. "As I am banished, I will remain near the edge of the forest until I know I have permission to enter. Then I shall walk to town or return here." she said with a bit of a stutter of sorts before bobbing her head, smiling. There would be no swaying her from this decision, she had her mind made up. Especially seeing as she was not a Rider, she did not believe it would be appropriate to arrive on the back of a dragon. She wondered something now though. "Do you always plan elaborate entrances?"

"The elves will not question the judgment of a Rider. As long as you are with me, you will be fine." Upon hearing her last question, a large grin crossed his face. "Why do you think my portal is a gaping vortex of light into nothing? I could easily cross over with nothing more than a step, but i choose to have it, just for the entrance. Oh, and if you think my entrances are elaborate, wait till you see me exit the villages."

"You, my father and my grandfather are all riders. I worry that they will believe that I feel the need to have persons with influence supporting me .. I believe that will be bad for my character. I would rather go alone. The one problem is asking permission. My father volunteered to request that I would be allowed to be seen. When his father realized that he would be there around the same time as he would, he decided to stay, so we will all have an opportunity to meet." she said softly, looking to him with a small smile. "I am quite .. terrified .. of returning."

"Ah, I see, it's not the elves that terrify you, but the prospect of meeting your legendary ancestor." He laughed slightly and gave her a gentle hug. "Look, I trained him, so I can say I know him pretty well. He's more awkward then you on your worst day. He's probably more worried about meeting his shunned granddaughter than you are about meeting your legendary war hero of a grandfather."

"No .. though .. um." she stopped, her cheeks going pink as she considered what was on her mind. "The combination of everything, actually, is what is causing my hesitation. Everything .. meeting the elders, meeting my mother, meeting my grandfather .. returning to a place I thought I would never see again .." she said softly, finding a chair to sit in as she was feeling a bit weak in the knees.

David walked around behind her and hugged her from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder. "Your grandfather is a great man."

"Aye .. that he is .. I worry that I may not live up to his expectations or .. that he may simply not like me. Father has not yet had the opportunity to tell him that we are blood relatives and that Saphira .." she stopped, unable to finish her sentence. Her eyes grew dark, she was slowly becoming overwhelmed by her own thoughts and worry.

"Look, if there's anything I know about Eragon, he doesn't base his judgements on first impressions." A look of confusion crossed his face before he asked, "What about Sapphira?"

"Does this upset you?" she asked softly, looking at him with a sad, innocent expression as he stammered.
