((is this rp...*gasp*...DEAD!?!? OH NOSE! quick! resuscitation is required!))

The man, now in the body of James, leaped at the beast, spreading his fingers as though baring claws. He came in contact with the monster and grabbed on to its shaggy fur, hanging on as best he could. He pulled one hand away, then thrust it back toward the monster, striking it on the neck. The beast howled in pain, but stayed standing. It bucked and writhed, trying to get the man (James) off of him, but to no avail. He clung on him like glue. He carefully climbed up on to the beast's back and reached his arms around the gargantuan neck. He would kill this beast.

((don' worry, i keep my promises))

Before him stood a tall, slender woman wearing a dark red sweatshirt and black pants. Her vibrant red hair fell to her shoulders and a few strands fell across her bright green eyes. "Hello," she said. "Who are you?" James asked. She smiled and began to circle him. "I am all and I am one. The first and the last. The ground and the sky." James scoffed. "Cut the hippie bullcrap. Who are you?" She smiled again and stopped walking, then shrugged. "I thought I'd try it out. It's not really my style, anyway." She paused and looked at him, forgetting his question. "Right, me. Well...I don't really need to tell you. I just need you to know that I'm trustworthy." He looked at her questioningly. "Trustworthy? You know, worthy of trust?" He shook his head. "You're in my mind. That doesn't seem altogether too trustworthy." She rolled her eyes. "Whatever, I'm right, okay? The thing that you have to know, is that this man is not who he seems to be. He's not the good person that you're friends put him up to be." Seeing that he still didn't believe her, she rolled her eyes and sighed. "Fine. I guess I'll just have to show you." She closed her eyes and a sense of calm came about her. And suddenly, he knew. He knew everything. About The Wasteland, about The Oasis. He knew about The Hotel and The Dream Zone. He knew about the red-haired woman and he knew about the black man. The mass of knowledge gripped him, sending him reeling. The world started spinning. When it finally stopped, he looked the woman in the eye, but in a different way, now. "You know what you have to do?" she asked. He nodded, silently, and she smiled, fading away into the darkness.

Nemoralis looked at James and knew that the ring was 'in control'. But there was something wrong, as if James didn't know what was happening. Nemoralis tried to reach with her mind for James. She saw a red-haired woman, and she grew scared. Something told her that she was up against her, and that James had fallen through and through. She didn't know if she could trust James now, or the ring, but she knew she had to help some how. Right now, looking at James, Nemoralis knew that she couldn't do anything to help, she was trapped with James on the beats' back and she didn't had any special power. In her anguish, she cried in her mind, trying to distract the beast and trying to dispell the helplessness she felt.

"Surprised?" he asked. "This is my mind." The black man narrowed his eyes and shook his head. "You still have the mental prowess of a child," he said. James laughed and this and held out his hand. The sword once again lifted from the ground into his hand. The black man laughed this time. He held out his hand and the scythe shimmered into his hand from nothingness. The black man reduced his pleasure to a smile and lowered into attack position. "You are no match for me," he whispered. "We'll see," James said. There was a flash of metal. The two were on each other in an instant. Sparks flew as their blades met, the scythe and the sword. They held there for a moment, each assessing the other. The black man pushed against James harder and they flew apart. James landed on all fours, his sword a few feet away. The black man landed on his feet, holding his scythe at his side. "Can you take it?" he asked, trying to provoke James. It worked. "Your a** is mine!" James yelled, leaping at his opponent. The sword was suddenly in his hand again. As their blades clashed again, the scene changed. Green burst from the black man, spreading around him. Grass grew beneath them and trees and bushes sprouted from the ground. James fell back from the hit, bewildered at the sudden change. "Look familiar?" the black man asked. James looked around, wide-eyed. "Korea," he whispered. The black man nodded and stepped backwards into the dense foliage. James could no longer see him. He stood and looked around, anticipating an attack, but none came. He cursed and stepped into the jungle.>

((hello? anybody?))

This is supposed to be my mind, he thought. Let's see what I can do. He closed his eyes and concentrated. The ground solidified beneath him and the trees pulled back from eachother. When he opened his eyes, he shrugged. Not what I was expecting, but it'll do. He followed the path for what seemed like an hour, seeing nothing. Finally, he came upon a clearing. It seemed to have been cut from the trees in a perfectly circular shape. Inside it, tents were set up in rows. "I've been here," he said. He walked through the tents, stopping at one near the middle. James ran his hand along the thick canvas, stopping at a loop sewn on to it. He grabbed it, pulled the flap aside, and entered the tent. Inside was what looked like a small labratory. Bottles and beakers were set on the tables issuing bubbles and fumes. "What the hell?" he muttered. A sound came from behind him and he turned to see two people enter the tent. He dove for cover, but didn't manage to hide before they would inevitably...
They passed him without noticing and continued walking until they reached the back of the tent. James stood and walked up to them. They still didn't notice. One of them was a female scientist, the other was a general. His general, the CO of the Korea mission. She fiddles with instruments and he watched, neither of them saying nothing. James waved his hand in front of the General's face.
"You can't do anything," the voice came from behind him. He spun to see the red-haired woman. "It's a memory." He turned back to the General, looking closer. "But I don't remember this," he said. She chuckled a little. "Memories don't work that way." Seeing his confusion, she waved her hand. "It's complicated. The fact is, this already happened, so you can't change it." She leaned closer and smiled at him. "You can't travel through time." They shared a little laugh, then watched the General and the woman for a moment.
After a minute, the General began to speak, but stopped. The woman stood straight and waited for him to say something. Then, he did. But it wasn't speach. He opened his mouth as though he was speaking normally, but his words were a blur. Only a few words stood out.
"Dr......can....pocket....instable...dimension...Lt. Colonel." James thought a moment. Pocket? Dimension? He had been a Lt. Colonel at the time of the Korea mission. The woman responded, but all of her words were jumbled. After a minute, there came a sound from the front of the tent.
"General?" came the voice. "Can I have a word with you?" Now, this he remembered.

(Hello! 4laugh )

Isaac watched as James choked the thing down. It flailed wildly, Isaac unsure how James was still on. He stomped and shot forward with a rocket like propulsion. Tongue flicked, and fingers snapped, fire breath and flaming hands augmenting Isaac's attacks. He lite a good deal of the beast on fire before he got there, keeping the flames below James. His hands punching the beast in its now exposed head. "Get ready to go!"

((come on guys! just a few more pushes! 1...2...3...4...5...breath...1...2...3...4...5...breath!))

James (the black man) was thrown off of the beast as it bellowed and kicked, trying to get rid of the flames. The fire licked at its fur as it tried to beat it out with its hands. James landed on his feet and smiled. This agility thing isn't all that bad, he thought. Let's see how the speed is. He ran forward and jumped at the behemoth, this time landing his foot right on the monstrous jugular. The beast tried to bellow, but its windpipe was temprarily crushed.
Not bad, but not good enough, James thought. More speed.

<Luque tried to stay as far from the monster as he could. If he couldn't see it, that wasn't a good sign for him. Besides, he was tired, and he could afford to watch James and Isaac battle it. He looked over to see Sid comforting Daniel. His sheild hadn't worked. Had last night really been that stressful on him? It couldn't've been. He'd done things like that countless numbers of times and been ready to do it again in the morning. What was wrong?>

<James turned to see his face poking into the tent. It was a much younger, more clean-shaven face, but it was him all the same.
"Just a minute," the General responded. He turned to the scientist. "Don't forget what we talked about. It's happening tonight." She nodded and the General left to go attend to the Lt. Colonel. James started to follow, but the red-haired woman held him back.
"You know what's happening there. In here's what you really want to see." She pointed at the woman, who was now writing on a clip-board. James walked over to her and read over her shoulder.
"It's all a blur," he told the red-haired woman. She sighed.
"Try harder," she said. James returned his focus to the paper. Slowly, the black marks on the page began to become clear, but only a few words.
"Dimension...stability...entrance," he read. "Then there's a bunch of math. Then there's more. Void of life...higher brain functions...triggered by a central object..." He looked at the red-haired woman, confused with the current situation.
"Even though I gave you all that knowledge, you still don't understand?" she asked. He shook his head. "You-" she began.
She was interupted by the tent flap opening and closing, giving way to a tall figure. The black man stood at the entrance of the tent, glaring at the red-haired woman. "You!" he shouted. She held out her hand and a bolt of lightning shot from it towards the black man. "Get out of his head!" she screamed. He caught the bright light and threw it back at her.
"This is more my mind than yours!" he countered as the light hit her. It wrapped around her and she began to fade. "I have more power than you here!" She turned to James as she faded away.
"This is your mind. You have the higher ground." And with that, she was gone. James then turned his full attention on the black man.
"Are you ready to do this again?" the black man asked. James merely smiled and nodded.
The tent vanished and they were back in The Wasteland.
>

The black man smiled back and he held his hand out once again. And once again, the scythe floated into his hand.
He swung the scythe in an instant, slicing through James as though he weren't there. James began screaming and fell to his knees. White light spilled from his body, showering everything around him with its golden beams. The black man smiled maliciously.
Then James stopped. He looked the black man in the eyes and smiled right back. "Like you said. The power of the imagination is incredible." He stood, still glowing. "And she was right, too. I do have the higher ground." He brought his hands forward and clapped in front of him. It gave off an amazing light, temporarily blinding the black man. This time, he screamed. His scythe disappeared. The light faded and the man stood with his eyes closed.
James approached him and made a motion with his hand. The black man began to float in the air. James smiled again and drew his hand back. With all of his force, he punched the black man in the gut, sending him flying backward. The man didn't stop flying backwards until he was out of sight. James was breathing heavily now, and his glowing began to die down. When he was normal again, he fell to his knees, smiling triumphantly. A trickly of blood fell from his nose. It may have been all in his head, but that had cost a lot.

<Somewhere in the far reaches of James' mind, the black man fell to the ground. He lay for a moment, thinking. That had taken a lot out of him. In fact, that had taken a lot out of James. He was weaker now, but James was also more aware of his power.
He stood and looked around. Just some random piece of mind.
He was weaker, but James was stronger.
The playing field was even now.
This was a fair game.
>

James (the black man) fell backwards before he could lay another hit on the monster. He stood and held his hand to his nose. When he pulled it away, there was a line of blood on his hand. That b*****d has done something to the physical body, he thought. Now that's power. And that's the kind of power that must be controlled. His attention was drawn back to the monster. They were having more problems with it. If only his focus wasn't split, then he'd beat James for this body for sure. He still had a chance at it. It would be simple. All it would take was one simple thing...

((will someone post, please?))

<James sat and waited for the black man to return. He was getting better at controling his imagination to his every whim. It seemed as though it had been hours and the black man still was no where to be seen. He relaxed for a moment, but then heard a noise. It was a whistling sound, as though something was getting closer extremely fast. He stood and looked around, ready to battle the black man once again.
He was upon his in a second. The black man seemed to appear from now where. His hands grasped around James' neck as he seemed to float in the air, his cloaks billowing as they rushed forward without him. His feet weren't even touching the ground, he was just...there, hovering. James could feel his breath leaving him. But then a thought occured to him. He held his breath. He was fine. After a minute, he was still fine. It was his mind. There was no oxygen to breath in the first place. It was all an illusion. James shook his head at the man and pulled his hands back. He slammed both of his fists into the black man's gut at the same time, sending him flying into the ground. "Try again!" James said. The black man stood and wiped his face. There was a trickling of blood from the corner of his mouth. He shook his hand off and resumed his attack position. "I'm ready," he said calmly. He held out his hand above the ground and one more time, the scythe slid soundlessly from the dusty earth beside him. It slid into the black man's hand and he stood straight, smiling. James shook his head again. "What you don't understand is that this is MY mind," he said. He held his hand over the ground. "Anything you can do, I can do," he said. He smiled. "Better," he added. The black man attacked, leaping at him with his scythe squng behind him. He brought the scythe through the air towards James, aiming right for his neck. In a second, there was a clash of metal and sparks flew. Once again, the black man seemed to hover in the air as James stood strong. His own identical scythe was in a defensive position, fending off the black man's scythe the best he could. "See?" he asked. A look of pure shock wiped over the black man's face. James pulled his scythe back and the black man stayed in the air. James swung it behind him and the black man merely floated in his place. With a swish, the blade of Jame's scythe was on the other side, clean and shining in the dim light of his imaginary Wasteland. The black man remained in the air, a smooth line running across his waist. He slowly fell to the ground, as though time were going slowly just for him. As he hit, his body split into two pieces, the bottom half and the top.
>
James stood over him and looked down into his eyes. "I never did get your name," James said. Both halves of the man began to shake. The slowly began to move together. "Namawe," he said. James nodded as the man's body began to heal itself, sealing the wound. "That's a nice name," James said. The man reached for his scythe and swung it at James, but was met with the blade of James' scythe. James stood back and looked at the gruesome picture. He black man was stuck to the ground with James' scythe through his skull and into the soft dirt. His own scythe was in a swinging postion, as though it were ready to kill. James looked at him sighed. "I'm almost sorry for you," he said. He turned away and The Wasteland faded around him leaving James walking in the picth emptiness that he had first seen. "Awful way for anyone to go," he said. Namawe's body was still there, perched like that. It wasn't until James regained complete control of the body that Namawe's image finally faded into the blackness, along with the two scythes.

James was thrown back from the beast by an unseen force. The beast was struggling with Isaac, so it hardly noticed that James had been thrown off. His unconcious body lay still for a moment, uncontrolled by either the real James or Namawe. Sid rushed to him and held up his head. "James! James, wake up!" she said. He didn't respond. She leaned over him and Daniel walked up to the two. "What's going on?" he asked. Sid shook her head. There was silence among the friends as they watched James' skin slowly pale. No words were spoken, but Sid put his head down and stood. She went to Daniel and they embraced. He was gone! How was he gone? But it wasn't long before they were broken apart again. The beast was howling and writhing around, Isaac only getting it angrier. Sid and Daniel leapt apart as the beast ran towards them. It missed both of them, but when the looked up again, James was gone. "Where is he?!" Sid screamed. There was a howl from the beast and it reared up onto its hind legs. It fell to the ground, making a giant thump and sending a cloud of dust into the air. Sid and Daniel stood, trying to find any sign of James. Luque followed them, getting closer and closer to the monsrosity. He couldn't see the beast, but there was one spark of something on the other side of it. He watched the form as it moved higher and higher, seeming to float in the air. It began to get clearer and clearer as it rose, then it was obvious to him what had happened. Sid and Daniel couldn't see through the smoke, but as the form stood on the mass of the beast's haunches, they recognized it and ran to it.
James stood, victoriousy on the beast, breathing heavily. That was a quick test to see if he was into his body, but it looked at though he'd passed. As Daniel, Sid, and Luque approached, he wrenched his scythe from the beast's chest. He hopped down and went to greet them, the dust clearing away.
"JAMES!" Sid exclaimed. She ran to him and kissed him right on the mouth. Daniel felt a stab of jealousy rise within him. When Sid was done, she let go and blushed. "Sorry," she said. James shook his head. "Where'd you get the scythe?" Luque asked. James looked at him and smiled. "That time in my head helped me," he explained. "What," Daniel said sarcastically. "It's not like you've never been there!" "Not enough," James replied. "I've unlocked parts of my brain that were never there before. I've found so many new things. Like this." He held up the scythe and it melded, shaping around his hand, then dropping to the ground, the floating back into the shape of the scythe again and returning to his hand. "These charms bring so much more power than you think!" he said. Sid gasped as she watched him demonstrate. Daniel scoffed and Luque shook his head in disbelief. "Incredible," he said.
Nobody saw the shadow looming over them until it was too late.
There was a sickening sliding noise and James cocked his head. A trail of blood dripped from his mouth to his chin as he slipped from the blade behind him. Namawe stood there, breathing heavily and covered in blood. "More than you know!" he said as James fell to the ground. Everyone stood for a moment in shock and Namawe fell to the ground, splitting into two halves once more. Sid rushed to James once more, screaming his name. Everyone stood still for a moment, shocked and stunned at what had just occured. "Who was that?!" Luque shouted. A groan came from the direction of the beast and Daniel looked up. The beast lumbered to its feet and swayed from side to side as if it were tired. "Um, guys?" He said. "I think we have bigger problems..." The beast turned to them and everyone looked up. "Much biggere problems."

((sorry the post is so long again. trying to keep it going by making a lot happen))

(My body... Is trying... to die. I don't wanna stand up any more..)

Isaac didn't have a clue what was going on with James. And frankly, he didn't very much care. He was running at the beast again, hands aflame, face red with exertion. "Why won't you die!?" He realized it was big and supernatural, but surely it couldn't take that big a beating. Isaac started throwing fireballs at the beast's face and as it covered itself in instinct, Isaac slid under it and stroked it's ankles. Fire raced up the beast's legs and it screamed in pain and horror. "Anything at all, you guys! Sid! Can you sketch something to help?! Make it big please!"

(Perhaps you should pm the others and if they don't reply in a certain amount of time or say no, the beastie kills 'em..)
