Personally, I think it's unfair that in most states, gay people cant get married.
They have the same right as everyone else.
Might I remind people that a characteristic of a DEMOCRACY which is supposedly what we have here in the U.s. is that all people are equal under that law?
What, that doesnt apply to gay people? They are people too.
The reason for it all though is that this is basically a christian-run country.
And christians dont like gay people.
So fair, dont you think?

well im srri but that is a sin. god doesnt like that that why he made adam and eve. there was no adam and steve(srri i herd that and it was funny anyway like i was saying that is soo wrong to be homosexual. and maybe its cuz im jamaican and most of us hate that homo stuff but yea. if your gay u should pray

I just don't understand why it's even an issue. We are supposed to have separation of church and state! The government is forcing they're religious beliefs on us on this issue and frankly I'm tired of it.

I also think it's bs that guys are like "Oh hot lesbians are ok but fags are dumb," sorry if you arent down with the language but seriously who gives a flying damn they are people let them get married it wont devalue a thing they are people who love eachother get over it and people that say that they will cheat more than heterosexuals are stupid it happens in all relationships it shouldnt but it does and also people who say they intentially spread disease (yes people say that) thats dumb you cant even do a study on that no one will admit to that it happens on accident but no one would do that there thats my view whats yours If the whole world went homosexual humans would die out. I know that's not in danger of happening but, if it wasn't meant for the whole world then why would it be meant for a portion of it? that has nothing to do with letting the 10% of the people who are gay get married

Honestly if a guy and a guy or a girl and a girl want to get married, just let them. If that's how they want to live their life then they should be able to! Just let people choose what they want to do to their life. Life is too short to be all uptight.

I don't mind if people are religious, and if I see/deal with it in day to day live, and if people want to go and think I'm a sinner (oh my gawd noes~!) because I'm gay, then that's find by me.

That is not true. A civil union is ONLY recognized by the state that they live in. A marriage, is recognized by every state, the country, and the world. You would get the federal tax benefits for being married, but the same can not be said about civil union.

the legal definition of marriage is basically
the union of one man and one woman, forsaking all others, till death do us part.
having seen the divorce rates going on, we can basically cross out the last part.
and since a lot of couples, even marriage, have affairs, we can cross out the second section of 'forsaking all others' since we know that many people dont yet still somehow have a happy marriage.
so why not change the first definition?
marriage should be the union of two peoples, for so long as both are happy to be in union.

Well let me just start off by saying that I'm a girl and I've been with my girlfriend now for 2 1/2 years. I know what love is, I'm not an idiot. I feel just like anyone else does. I'm just thankful that I live in Canada and am allowed to get married to the person I love and want to be with. Love knows no gender or race for that matter. I don't need a group of bible thumpers to tell me that I've "sinned". I love my girlfriend and that's all that matters to me.
