Phreise.... I think I love you.... I always did well on History Tests...but I'm awful with my homework...I waste time and pretend to work while actually doing something else. The only way I got good scores in core last year was by doing a bunch of makeup work at the end of the year. It was awful. I think one of the reasons I did well on History tests was because of my teacher. He was a huge joker, and always found ways to slip humor into the tests.. for Example Its even funnier of multipule choice...one answer would be completley wonkey. ( option [d.], take over the world) and sometimes he would have questions that were about himself (what is the middle name of my second son?) and he would expect us to pay attention when he was showing us pictures of his two sons in Africa.... the guy was bonkers....I miss him..*tear*

Fourty that teacher sounds so awesome! heheh, thanks phreise for the help on that, if only I could be good at math! ugh! its so annoying but well, to go to my university, I had to take a placement test before to see what math and english level I belong to. I did really well in english and I'm gonna take normal college-level english next spring semester but in math...ehh, I totally bombed it. My senior year in high school, I didn't take math so I completely forgot everything I learned sweatdrop Anyways so the university placed me in Math 50, which is two levels before college-level math. Math 50 is basically beginning algebra or algebra 1. So if anybody is good at math and well can give me hints that would be great. Phreise, I can't believe that you have study hall. Here in the west coast (we have crappy school systems by the way) , we don't have study hall. Anyways sorry for my rant about my difficulties with math. Funny enough I'm really good at history and anything except math (or anything math related neutral ) but that is what usually happends isn't? I also think that I like the close-knittiness of this, so we have to keep on this thread alive! To answer your question, I write poetry and short stories.

I find this hilarous because I took the SATs early (I am not even close to college. Still have a couple years) this year and I got a 610 in math!!! I have fun in math so it is easy for me. I got the top grade of my class last year I was a grade different from everyone else. I was the youngest crying ! I believe that you should like not read any of the junk, but apply it. I have been doing multipacation since I was about three or four so I have been in math two grades higher then my actually grade for quite a few years. Another thing I do is when I do my homework and get it wrong, I rework the problem so that I understand how I got it wrong. I hope this might help a bit.
And yes, I do write poetry. I am actually getting a piece of my work published. I don't think it is very good, but who carres. Here is a sample of it. It's called Perpetual Love.
Love
What does it mean?
It's a perpetual word in constant motion
It's real, though so far
I reach, but fall short
My goal
Never to be accomplished
I try and try but constantly fail
Love
A perpetual word
The meaning, forever close to my heart
Never will it be forgotten
And scarf, that teacher sounds cool. My last history teacher got pregnant, and we had a subtute for half of the year. She was really strict grading. I wish I my history teacher was like that, but at least my best friend was in my class with me. I feel like a little Ravenclaw family!! We should have a house cheer!! haha That would be funny!!!

Thanks Taylor for that help. Lucky for you that you have no problems....Why did you take the SAT's early?? I'm like eek ...I took them my junior year and only because I had to. I got like a 440 in math...which is good I suppose. That must sux being the youngest, that wouldn't work here, unless you go to honors and such....what grade are you in anyways?? Poem is pretty good, love...thats a great topic. My poetry, when I was younget I used to put on fictionpress..But since I took a creative writing class, my writing got so much better! Not so emo too.. emo We totally need a house cheer. My history teacher last year, actually gov/econ teacher for snr. year was funny, he liked me for some reason or other....he gave me an A in gov, when it should have been a B plus. Still happy about it. I heard that my history professor is awesome too! Can't wait to start tomorrow! I'm kinda nervous, my first day of college! confused I know I'm gonna get lost. sweatdrop

Scarf, our teachers must know each other. D: My history teacher, who also happened to be the careers teacher, is an awesome dude. He's funny, he shows the other side of the argument, he's not afraid to make fun of you in class. Sometimes he'd slip in extras on tests, but usually he just put there work there and expected us to listen in class. We were always off-topic. And when he wrote tests in his own handwriting, more people got questions wrong. He has such horrible, sloppy writing. ANd he gets after me for mine. D: Hypocrite, but anyway. He was my favorite teacher, and when I had both History and Careers, and him as a study hall teacher, I would have careers 2nd period, study hall 3rd, and history 4th. Him 3 hours in a row. And I sat in the same seat for careers and history, in the same classroom, so it was funny. Except the part that the history room was upstairs and study hall downstairs, so it was up-down-up-down for all my classes that year. (I seriously every year get my schedule where I'm on the 2nd floor, then the first, up and down and up and down the stairs every class.) Yeah, we have study hall. I actually took an extra study hall, so every other day I had another study hall period as well, it was awesome. An hour and a half of study hall, several hours apart. Or just 45 minutes on the off-days. biggrin Math isn't something you can study, you have to actually do the work, which is basically why I'm lost. I can and do study out of books, with notes and all, but when it comes to actually doing the work, I can't seem to get it. With math, there isn't notes and reviewing textbooks. D: Which means I'm still oh so very confused on how I got a higher grade in math then I did in careers, because I liked careers and did the work, but I don't like math and I didn't always do the work, and lots of times I didn't understand the concept. (then there was the week-long sickness that ment I had to make-up work for a week in two days, as it was the end of the schoolyear, so I didn't make the work up in the end, and I still got a higher grade). I have a peice of my poetry from 6th grade published in a book- A celebration of young poets I think it's called. They make one every year, and wince it was 6th grade, that woudl be year... 2005, I think? I don't want to do the math (see why I fail at it XD). Let me go dig the book out, I'll show you the book. Or something. And I do love your poem, too, Taylorsue. Ah, here it is. Click for the cover and for the page my poem is on. It was 2005 after all. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa302/phreise/cover.pnghttp://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa302/phreise/poem.pngLook for the name Amanda Kincheloe, Poem is titled Green. The words that are cut off are just 'green'. It's really lame now that I look back on it, but I'm still glad I got in, only 15 of our entire grade got in that year, which was a big deal for us. Para, I'm sure you'll do fine in college, lots of luck to you! *hugs*

Ee, I took so long to type my post I didn't see the one right before mine.
Is the assignment long? You could try doing a bit each night, during free time, to finish it up while not spazzing out. Try to keep it fun, as always.
We here in the common room like school usually, even though we're ready to rant about it to each other as well. What about you- do you like school too? Sometimes I just hate it, but I'd be trying my luck to try and skip it. My mom would tan my hide so fast I'd have a leather jacket to wear over my bones and body organs. Haha, I have, like, no muscular structure at all, I'm a complete bum. biggrin

Where are your greatest strengths?
My greatest strengths... would probably be my intelligence, feelings, and the people I lean on. They are all kind of combined though. My intelligence increases depending on what I feel, my feelings come from the people I care about, and I chose who I speak to with my intelligence. I wouldn't really call it my greatest strength though, because it could easily become my greatest weakness.

I love school, I just hate homework. D: It's not too bad actually. 4-5 page essay on Bless Me, Ultima I love the book. :3 It's reallllly interesting, but when you have to do an assignment on it it becomes annoying. Now I have to reread it and make sure I know what's happening, who he was at the beginning and end of the book, and find his changes. ._.'

D: 4-5 pages? I'm good at shorter essays, but longer myself. I love books but I also dislike having to do assignments on them, it takes out of the fun you get from reading it in the first place.
When I write essays, I have to keep writing and not stop to fix the tiny errors till I'm finished, otherwise I work out all the small things and it turns out horrible for me. Heh.

When I write essays I have to take breaks otherwise I ramble and go off topic. @.@' Once I was suppose to be talking about the respiratory system, and suddenly I was talking about deep sea scuba diving. @.@'''

Scuba diving? I'd have loved to read your essay. I can ramble too- you see me doing it in my posts all the time, where I go off topic and start quoting other things. My friend and I would quote things all the time, in 6th grade we quoted the movie madagascar to each other constantly- I swear the quotes made up a large mass in our vocabulary. I think the movie's a little weird now that I'm older and watch it again- I'd rather watch something else, usually. And the movie 'the wild' is, in my opinion, a rip-off of madagascar anyway. They basically stole the characters, a giraffe and a lion, and added a few, and took them to an island way off nowhere, it was really lame. Besides the animals eating the lions so they could have their victory or power or whatever.
And I ramble again. Sorry.

Hehe, that essay about respiratory system/scuba diving? sounds awesome. What did your teachers say by the way?? Well in essays I ramble on and repeat things. That is why I'm so glad that I have people who can peer-edit them, or else I wouldn't get a good grade at all. Its great that you guys are so young, I remember watching madagascar when I was 15. I loved the lil' lemur things, I do agree that The Wild was a rip off, but isn't the competition so fierce, that all the animation companies always do that to each others movies. Like with Mcdonalds and Jack in the Box. Does anybody notice that they always try to outdo each other with new products, but even more popular In-N-Out has never changed their menu since they opened in the '50's. Well anyways thanks phreise for the good luck. I'm sure I'll be okay, I know people in every one of my classes, I'm lucky with that. I only have one class tomorrow so I'll be done by 10 am! Heheh, I love the university because of the schedule. Let's start a new topic..what are everyone's favorite movies? Music? T.V. shows that sort of thing? (other than HP wink )
