I've got Awakening and The Hunted... haven't read them tho cuz I haven't gotten Minion yet. You can't read the 2nd and 3rd book if you don't have the 1st but I'm itching to browse threw the others. sweatdrop I can't wait to read them!

I hope you like them. They are quite different from any other vamp books I have read.

So I finally picked up Minion and started. The begining had threw me off a bit. It started slow and for a moment I couldn't get past the brand of slang being used (seemed kinda cheesey). I figured I wouldn't like it and set it down for a while, but after getting bored and picking up where I left off it pulled me in. I'm half way through and will probably finish the rest tonight since I don't think I can wait for the train ride tomorrow.
Anyway, so far I think it's pretty good. It's different from all the other vampire fiction I've read and I like that about it. The mythology through out the book is also interesting. I'm curious to see where it's all going and how it'll end (though I have my suspicions already XD). There seems to be quite a few steamy paragraphs in here too. Way different from what I'm used to seeing in the Anita series but still steamy nonetheless. Digging the weaponry too...

It was a huge shift from what I am use to as well, and took me a while to get into it, but I really like the style now, I just haven't had the time to finish book 2 & 3 yet.

I have to buy Awakening now. I finished reading and was like "Wait.. there's no more book?" It was like watching an episode of something. They just leave you hanging until the next week.

I finally just finished the first 3 books and I thought they were ok. I got turned of cuz of all the slang but it didn't bother me that much was I read on. The whole feel of the books are like Buffy and Angel kinda thing...Slayer in love with a vampire that has a soul. I'm going to continue reading them tho. The plot is an interesting one.

Narniakat I just saw on Amazon.com that there is already a 4th book! I didn't know so I am excited. Oh thanks for telling me... I just looked at it and look at the reveiw I found... Banks creates smokin' sex scenes that easily out-vamp Laurell K. Hamilton's, though they sometimes scream for tighter editing.Out-vamp LKH in sex scenes? I wonder if it's possible xd

I will order them soon since I don't seem to have much time to run to the book stores these days. I also agree with the Buffy/Angel thing. I never gave it thought before but yea, it is similar.

yay finally! i found a thread on LA BANKS. biggrin i love la banks, i feel like i can relate to her books alot. I love the fact that there is a mixture of hispanic and black culture that im so used to cause i live down in carol city where that is all you see. The slang and the whole atmosphere of the story brings me back home, im really into vampire fiction and i love the fact that she brought the whole storyline into hood terms. lol. <3 I just finished up the forbidden and i love the series! She writes a great story and i feel like the sex scenes do get abit more steamier than lkh. i love carlos. lol. The Bitten was alright but it got alittle too cheesy at times. I still love it though.
