At the top of the flight of stairs, another woman waited. "What room are you looking for, dear?" She smiled warmly, not an overly young woman, but not yet old either. She was perhaps old enough to be the young lady's mother, dressed in casual business wear like some sort of cruise director or assistant.

"Do you need any help with your bags or with finding your room? I'm here to help or answer any questions you might have." She stood up straight, hands clasped behind her back loosely as she waited for the girl's answer. She didn't push; she was only here to be helpful if needed afterall.

She smiled reassuringly at the obviously nervous young woman. Poor thing looked absolutely flustered. Glancing at the ticket, she nodded. "Don't worry, dear. You're in the right place. You're just down this hallway." Sensing that she didn't want help with her bag, she simply turned and gestured down the corridor with her arm.

"Just follow me and I'll show you where it is. Then I'll leave you to get settled in for your vacation." She turned and set off down the hall at a relaxed pace, not too fast as to leave the girl behind or make her feel hurried.

The halls were simply decorated so as not to feel cramped on the ship, seeing as the designers had limited space to work with. There remained a sense of elegance, however, in the softly-lit wall sconces and plush carpeted floor. The doors were numbered sequentially and it wasn't long before they reached Room Twenty-Four. "Here we are, dear. And here's your key." She plucked a small key and keyring off a set from her pocket and handed it to Sarafina. She seemed to have only the ten keys for her floor on the set, so there must have been others doing the same job as she on each level of the ship's residential sections. "Unless you have any questions or need anything else, I'll leave you to get settled in," she nodded, stepping out of the way of the door.

"Very well. Enjoy your vacation!" The woman smiled cheerily, shutting the door quietly behind herself as she took her leave. She walked briskly down the hallway once more, ready to assist the next new arrival. Work was never done on a cruise ship, especially for coordinators before the cruise itself ever actually began.

It would be some time before anyone would disturb the young lady in her room, so she had plenty of time to do as she wished before time for dinner.

When the young woman arrived, she would find that a number of the other cruise guests had had a similar idea. Several young people similar in age to herself were already making good use of the pool while a couple of older guests in their mid-thirties or so lounged about on deck chairs.

One young girl hopped eagerly up onto the short diving board at the other end of the pool, then performed a cannonball leap into the pool creating a wave much larger than her small form might have suggested she'd create. After sheilding himself from the resulting wave of water, a laughing teenage guy turned his eyes in the direction of the new arrival. Smiling, he wolf whistled loudly, winking at her as she approached the pool.

"Hi there."

Apparently, some guys couldn't take a hint. While he'd been disappointed at first when the young woman hadn't joined in with the crazy antics in the pool, he had to admit, she sure looked nice laying out there in the sun. So, he'd decided she must be playing hard to get.

Flopping down casually in the deck chair next to hers, he grinned widely at the girl. Water still dripped from his hair and skin, pooling on the warm deck below the chair. He certainly wasn't bad-looking. Unfortunately, he knew it too. He was one of those that had the attitude that comes with that knowledge as well.

"So, what's a pretty girl like you doing in a place like this?"

Oh, brother...did it get any worse than this? Of course, it did. He simply worried more about getting by on his looks and winning smile than silly pick-up lines.

"I'm Kevin...and you are...?"

"Woah! No need to cause a fuss!" The guy laughed, hurrying from his seat to her side to help her up. Unfortunately for him, he seemed to completely miss the problem here. He wasn't the brightest of the lot it seemed.

"You alright there, miss?" He crouched, placing one hand on her shoulder and reaching for one of her hands with the other.

"Hey! What's the matter with you? I was just trying to help!" Anger had crept into the male's voice. What was with this chick? She some sort of loon or something? She was sure acting like it at the moment. He hadn't hurt her or anything, but she was acting as if he'd smacked her and knocked her to the ground rather than her falling there herself.

Leaning back against the deck chair, he crossed his arms, irritated. "Hmmph. Forget it. No use wasting my time with some lunatic like you." With that, he quickly climbed back to his feet and dashed back to the pool. Within minutes, he could be seen laughing and tickling some blonde thing who only giggled at his advances before flitting away.
