"Have you ever seen a mermaid, Haru?" he asked, slipping into the water. Unfortunately, he soon realized that it was much deeper than he had expected. No one had ever taught him how to swim. "Haru, Haru!" he whined, panicking as the water rose up to his nose. He did his best to put his head up, but the water wouldn't push away.
The boy was growing scared. He didn't want to drown or get hurt. "Haru!" he cried with more urgency.

((I'm really sorry I haven't written back in soooo long! I should be back now.))
Haru shook his head. "Nope, but can they be that grea?" He thought they may be pretty, but pretty as he? He didn't know of any pae that could be.
Haru heard his call and saw the child struggling in the water. He dove under and popped up right next to him and held the child in his arms. "Are you ok?" He asked.

The poor boy shivered in fear, clinging as hard as he could to the young man. He didn't quite know what to think of that experience mainly because it was just too scary. He could've been hurt very badly.... "You saved me," he said, pressing close to him. "You're a good person. You're not bad at all." Not that he had thought Haru was bad in the first place, but this just made him that much better. "I'm gonna stay with you, okay? I wanna stick with you." It was natural response. The little boy didn't feel that he owned it to him. He just knew that if something bad happened, he could count on Haru to help him.

((Just a head's up, Haru is on a blind date with a girl. He needs to check that out...lol Maybe Hyacinthus could be sleeping nearby or something?))
Haru rubbed the boy's back as he felt the shiver, "You want to get out of the water?" Haru smiled, "Well, thanks." He wouldn't have done for just anyone, but there was something about this boy... "With me? Well...I guess we'll see?" Would hanging around a small boy cramp his style? Haru didn't know, but for some reason agreed anyway.

(Yeah, whatever works since Hyacinthus will probably follow Haru most places. He can also keep to himself if Haru needs to be alone with the girl. It'd just be the same thing that he does when his parents want time to themselves. This is so cute^^)
"Thanks. You can be like my big brother, but not because we don't have the same mommy." He smiled broadly, kissing him on the cheek without thinking about the implications. To him, it was okay because he did it to show that he liked Haru. "I wanna meet the people you meet."

"Big brother?" Haru didn't have any relatives, but this seemed right. Haru smiled at the kiss. "You do? I haven't met too many yet. I met a teen boy the other day, he was nice." Haru left out the part about him having his first kiss with said boy...the child needn't know.

(I just realized that I've started playing Hyacinthus as a teen. Since this is still taking place with him as a child, we could say that throughout the rest of his child stage he stuck around Haru for a long time. And maybe during Haru's date, he could be close to growing.)
"Then I wanna meet whoever else you meet." He beamed, bouncing in his arms. "We could go meet someone now. Let's go see what other people are doing. Or we could get ice cream! I'd like some ice cream because that'll be good because it's so hot. Do you like ice cream?" He was ecstatic to have a new playmate, but also he was excited to have an older male around.

((Or maybe he is grown too...on his first date as well. Maybe Haru hasn't seen him and doesn't know. They we can have an rp with them meeting as adult and teen?))
"Well, I'm not sure where to look for more people. I just seem to run into them." Haru said honestly. "Ice cream?" Man this kid could talk and his mind sure went in all different directions. "Where do you get ice cream?"

(That sounds like a good idea. Hyacinthus will also be off on his own first date^^)
"At the HQ. We can get just about anything there! Tristen showed me where to get everything, and I can tell you. But you gotta know what you want because otherwise you'll end up with something different." Well, on one level that made perfect sense. He felt a little stupid saying that, but it was the best way he could express what he was trying to get across. "I can show you too." He wiggled to indicate that he wanted Haru to put him back on the ground. He was energized enough to walk now, though he still felt a bit thirsty. At least now they had a place to go, a place that was cool and wouldn't make him prone to drowning.

Tristen? What was with that guy? Yukio talked about him as well. Hmmm...
"Really? Then you show me the way." Haru put the child down and then held out his hand so the child could hold it. He didn't want anything else to happen to the boy. He felt that he should protect him now.

The little boy kept a tight grip on his new big brother's hand. As he walked, Hyacinthus chattered on and on about his family and the people he knew. He talked about his parents, Mommy Sappho and Mommy Xanti who would definitely like Haru. The boy just knew it. He talked about how nice Tristen was and that he was someone's daddy. The little boy sometimes wished that he had a father mainly because he liked being with other men. "Girls like Mommy Sappho and Mommy Xanti are okay," he said. "Girls are nice. They can be really pretty. But girls don't like running around a lot. They'd rather play with dolls. I like dolls too but not all the time because there are other things you can do like climb trees and play tag...." Such were his musings.

((LOL Yeah, he is very self-centered...but deep down there is a heart. xp ))
Haru nodded as he listened to the child go on and on. This was te most he ever let another pae talk, ususally he tried to make it all about him. He was rather good at that.
"Oh yeah? Well, now you got me." Haru said with a smile. He wasn't sure he liked to do all those things, but he didnt' know unless he tried.

He led him along the winding path to the Headquarters, happy that he could open the door all by himself. In the kitchen, he insisted on doing everything himself for Haru. He brought a chair near the refrigerator where he could more easily get to the yummy frozen treats inside the freezer. "Mmph...mph..." Easier said than done.
With a bashful frown, he turned to his new friend. "Can you help me?"

Haru followed happily and watch the child get into the fridge. "Oh, sure." He reached in and pulled out the ice cream. "Which kind did you want?" Why did Haru care...shouldn't he only get his favorite out?

(I was actually about to suggest the same thing. Let's see if we can find a good stopping point.)
"Chocolate!" he said gleefully, bouncing up and down on his toes. "Chocolate! Chocolate Chocolate!" He scrambled up onto a chair to watch Haru scoop out the delicious stuff. "Chocolate is really good. It's the bestest flavor."
After getting his ice cream, he settled at the table next to Haru. "Isn't this good?" he asked, scooting his chair closer to his new friend. After eating for a while, he cuddled eagerly up against Haru. "We're gonna stay friends, right?"
