"Two actually. It must be a trick of genetics." Mosi chuckled with a shake of her head. "The rest of the girls, save for Sauda, are pretty much like their brothers though, for now anyway. Past kings help him if they all discover boys at the same time." She snorted with soft, outright amusement. "He's been lucky so far, Kani doesn't seem to have any intrest in being anything but his big little girl still." Or at least, so Mosi thought.

"Eventually anyway, not everyone... Our family tree is getting a little cramped though. By the time my sisters and brother are your age we'll be falling out of the tree, if Shin and I stay." She sighed, eyes squinting against the sun's glare. "Must be a sibling thing, it makes more sense coming from you than it ever did my mother."

Shomoro chuckled, black tail brushing the grass behind her as they walked. "I imagine it won't be long," she mused, "She is old enough, after all. I suspect my boys will discover girls, as well." She paused then, as a very silly thought crossed her mind. "Hmm...you don't suppose?"

It was a silly, motherly whisper of imagination that had occurred to her. Unlikely of course, but when you had a son and your friend had a daughter...who wouldn't think of it? Not that she had any intentions of playing matchmaker, she was simply amusing herself. Although Mosi's daughter was quite the pretty young thing.

"I dunno what I'd do if I had more siblings. There's not all that much room to begin with if we get to playing..." Besides, what did you do with younger siblings anyway? They were, well...little. "Maybe you could come visit sometime?" He brightened.

Kani could be someone new to play with!

"I don't think...?"

Mosi quirked a brow in Shomoro's direction, still mulling over Juhudi's reaction to Kani bringing home a boy when it finally clicked.

"OH!" Mosi laughed then, bounding a step or two before waiting for Shomoro to catch up and then slowing back into a regular pace. "Well, I guess that's possible. I'm no match maker but they do seem to compliment one another." So maybe?

"Well don't rule it out. Shin and I never thought mom would end up pregnant again and here I am now with four more bodies to try not to roll on top of." She chuckled, silently marveling for a moment over the fact. Their mother didn't seem the sentimental type at all, but she was full of surprises. What came as no surprise was the love that Mosi had for her mate. Kani longed to find that for herself someday, in the back of her mind at least, she did.

"Both young, both attractive..." Shomoro laughed along, making leaping strides after Mosi. "Still, even if either of us were a matchmaker, we all know just how contrary children can be."

"It would be cute, though." Mostly it was just fun to think about!

"Then I hope it's more brothers at least." Arasi's ears fell slightly to the sides. "I wouldn't know what to do with a sister!" If it was hard not to roll over little siblings in your sleep, imagine how they'd get in the way of wrestling!

"Yeah... yeah... it actually kind of is." Mosi laughed again. "And I make it a rule not to use that word too often."

She took a deep inhale of the prideland air, relaxing under the sun's warm rays, tail lashing contently behind her like a banner.

"I'd worry about her father though. He's protective over those girls, I feel sorry for any boy she does bring home, I'm definitely going to have my work cut out for me then."

"Be careful what you wish for." Kani couldn't help but laugh softly, ears pinning back lightly, relaxed. "My uncle, Jini is actually really quiet and shy, mom said she was more of a boy than he acted sometimes. I mean, that doesn't mean boys can't be sweet or shy, but, she was really out there. Besides, you seem to be doing fine to me." She chuckled, grinning at him some in an encouraging manner. "It depends. Some of our sisters are total tomboys like mom, and they like to wrestle around the same as Kivuli. If she's like me, or Sauda, you just... do what you're doing now. Talk to them, play with them, let them hang around now and then."

"Is he? Tell me, what's he like?" Shomoro was terribly curious. What had Mosi been getting up to all this time, hmm? Besides having cubs, of course.

"Oh, thanks!" Arasi beamed at the compliment. He thought for a moment then, somewhat bewildered. "How do you play with girls?" His encounter with Sen had been more along the lines of misadventure than anything else.

"Juhudi? ..." Hmm.... she knitted her brow lightly as she thought. how to sum him up? "... It's like having seven cubs instead of six, except one of them is big enough to bowl me over. It's a good thing though, he's great with the cubs and he's good at peacekeeping. I'm usually busy during the mornings with my new position, so it's nice to know he's able to look after the kids so well while I'm gone." Mosi paused then, as if remembering something, and turned a bit to Shomoro, looking sheepish. She lifted a paw to hold up the necklace around her neck. "He's also, apparently, a very talented jewelery maker, he gave this to me not too long after we got together."

"Really? Aside from being more careful, since they're smaller, not really any different... You just have to remember that they can get frustrated easily because of the size difference, but sometimes they need a little help too. I guess it's a little more complicated than I thought." Kani confessed, frowning as she thought, but then smiled encouragingly again. "You'll get the hang of it though, I'm sure."

She listened with great interest, as well as a smile for her friend's contentment. "Ohh, that is beautiful," she admired. Another question soon came, though. "A new position?"

My, it seemed Mosi had been busy indeed!

"Oh," Arasi sounded, mulling over the advice. That didn't sound too bad. Wrestling while at the same time being careful sounded tricky, though. "It sure does sound complicated, you're right."

"Well, maybe Ma won't have anymore of us at all." The adolescent laughed. "Probably shouldn't worry yet!"

Oh, if others only knew the half of it. Even in old age it was doubtful that Mosi would ever slow down. She was happiest when she was productive in one way or another, scouting, fighting and defending, playing, exploring, running, hunting, swimming, anything active.

"Mmhm." She smirked, taking great pride in her "work", having resolved to find a task that would allow her to wander various areas, since settling down with a family haulted her original fantasies of exploration. She was grateful to have found a mate that supported her no matter which she chose. "Head scout." She grinned toothily, slowing down to stop, settling down to sit atop a larger rock where there was room for both females, a bit of sunbathing while catching up sounded great, as Mosi was a lazy girl underneath all that energy.

"There's no need in worrying about the future until it gets here, right?" Another small smile, though inwardly she couldn't help but note how she neglected to follow her own advice, harmfully so as of late. She did put it out of mind for now though, so that was something at least. "What are your brothers like? Do you all usually get along alright?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 04, 2007 1:34 pm

"Head scout? Oh my!" Shomoro laughed, very much impressed. "And here you are, socializing with a lowly huntress." She was, of course, only teasing.

She was more than happy to stop for a bit of sunbathing while they talked...perhaps even a bit of a nap with her dear friend. "Mm, what a lovely spot," she said appreciatiely, settling herself on the rock. "Nice and warm and perfect for old women."

Okay, so neither one was old, but they did have grown (or nearly grown) children.

"My brothers?" Arasi furrowed his brow in thought. They were, well, his brothers. "Well, Feo and Auri are yellow like mom, and Kimbi's brown. Oh, we get along fine! I mean, we give each other a hard time and all, but we'll always be brothers.

"Lowly schmoly," Mosi snorted softly, grinning at her friend's tease. "I'm honored to be in the presence of one brave enough as to raise a litter FULL of boys." She quipped playfully, seeming to ooze into a more comfortable position on the rock now with a languid stretch. "Ohhh... yeah, that feels nice." She melted with a clumsy purr, eyes slipping shut. "Now this, is relaxing."

"The only yellow we have in our family is on my great grandmother's side--"

She paused abruptly then, ears perking as she heard the sound of a familiar canine. Her gaze went from that direction to her companion, apologetic. "Sorry, Arasi, that's Ukilia calling me. We should hang out again sometime. Maybe?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 04, 2007 2:06 pm

Shomoro laughed, her own eyes closing as well. Yes, this was just the perfect way to be, warm and comfortable and in good company. The huntress felt at the height of contentment as she murmurred, "We'll have to do this more often."

Great grandmother? Side? Just how big was Kani's family? He would have asked, before he too heard a call, which she explained. "O-oh." He grinned. "Sure! I doubt we could avoid it if we tried, anyway."

Arasi winked.

"Mmhmm, I second... that..." Mosi agreed with a content and tiny little smile as her chin came to her paws, sleep quickly sweeping over her.

Kani grinned at his wink, feeling a warmth that she hadn't felt with a stranger before, well, no, she felt it with Ukilia, that was for certain.

"Not that I'd want to. Friends?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 04, 2007 2:18 pm

"Mmm," was the extent of Shomo's answer before she joined Mosi in sleep, head resting on black-tipped paws.

Arasi nodded, beaming. "Friends! Definitely!"
