Oh wow. I didn't think like that. x: If I used a human..and I had to come up with what they did..Do I like..hmmm. Could I make them like..Could I say the soul was previously a woman who craved for love but didn't desire commitment and so indulged herself in playing with men's hearts? [gold digger?] But because she desired so much attention she would have men kill their wives/girlfriends and such just for her "happiness" and dispose of them? Like..Omg @___@;; I'm sorry if I'm just typing crap, but is that like..something you mean? I hope I understood all right.

Perhaps not something so very in depth because the soul is not so heavily stressed upon but because of the nature of yours it's important to have a hint of what had happened. Your idea for a human woman who desired love above everything else but was unable to love and so she used people is fine. The rest is, although interesting and fine to write more about if you feel like it, not really important enough.
On the cert it would likely show up as only Preta (or ghost or something along those lines) but it's important for you to know what has happened and everything there is to know about your character. You have to know the whole life of the woman who you are using as a soul and you have to know the whole afterlife of the woman who you are using and you have to know how that will change your character.
Most Raevan's look like what their soul is so it's important that you stress the look of it as well. Is it a ragged ghost? A beautiful ghost? How did she die? What was her personality before she died? What was her personality after she died?

Thank you SO much Kitten :3 I know a lot more now in making a concept.
I think I'll have the lady die beautifully on the outside but corrupt on the inside. Like..she was merely poisoned or overdosed or something and so that's what gives Huan-yue a pale tone to her skin. I'll probably add more information now on the Preta's previous life in Huan-yue's description now. <3 I'm incredibly thankful to you Kitten because now I have a much better idea of how to come about this. Hmmm..Now it's time for clashing of personalities! 8DD
What will become of this happy little essence when it meets the jealous beauty?

Both your concepts seem to be very similiar in that you are trying to place a physical form to something that really doesn't have one to begin with. Yet, maybe they don't have to have a set form at all. Maybe they can be combined in that it is the happiest memory left behind so that whoever looks to or is in close proximity to the essence, it reveals their happiest memory. I know it may seem a bit cliche especially these days, but HP has some good examples of this what with the Patronuses, the pensive, etc etc. I hate to mention them myself, but they could help in you figuring out how to go about your essences.
I hope this has helped and I wish I could do better, but alas I can't. Yet, I do think you are on to a good start, your ideas just need some more work is all. Good luck!

I love the essences you created. They are similar to one another, yet they are very different from other concepts I have seen. I also love your concept for Nerio. I just wish you would add a bit more information about his appearance. As for the preta soul for Huan-yue, I believe a minor description of the ghost's appearance and back story is called for. Other than that, you have a lovely concept thread chugging along Kaurii-love! <3
I love the White Lion soul! xD;;

Wow, I really enjoy reading all these things about your different concepts. I'd have to say, so far, my favorite one of those three is the first to be honest. I absolutely love the idea you took in for the soul. A white lion sounds so awesome! And the Fel Essence you chose. OMG! It is absolutely creative and absolutely awesome.
I do love your other concepts too. ^^ But I do love that first one so much lol. I know this isn't really a critique as much as it is just, loving your ideas but. xD yeah, as I said in the main thread, I can't critique worth a crap lol. ^^

Another very creative essence! I love what your mind comes up with Kaurii. I would still like some more information about their appearances put up. Other than that, great job! <3

Alright, here I go!
Memory Fragments | When you say memory fragments, I can feel my mind suddenly stop working. It's a hard thing to conceive, but that's what these essences are all about right? I like that you made the memory fragments the memory fragments of a lake. It's nice and specific, it's not so broad. I kind of want a different image than glass pieces if you know what I mean. (This doesn't mean you have to change it from glass shards or anything @__@) When I think of a memory in an object, I think of a photograph. Photographs are memories, right? So perhaps maybe moving photographs...Or something? Or maybe little mirrors made of water...I hope I'm being helpful. This also reminds me of a story I once read by...Oh god, can't remember her name. But there's a story about a girl who steps into a garden filled with roses and each rose holds a different memory, or a different future, and when she smells it she can see that future...Just tossing stuff out here for your inspiration. Now, about the soul...I'm really jealous I didn't think of Kimba first! That is a very interesting soul choice and I enjoy the personality you have written for this raevan. White = Love. But it means a whole bunch of other things too, like innocence, good, cleanliness, etc... It might have an impact on the raevan if you wanted it to. Think too, a while lion is rare. How would that impact the raevan? Altering memories for food...kind of freaks me out, to tell you the truth. My first instinct was...AGHH NO MY MEMORIES...Because even bad memories mold people into who they are. People learn from bad memories. Some of my best memories are bad memories to tell you the truth. And how would this raevan tell good memories from bad memories? I crashed my bike at the bottom of a steep hill once and I hold that memory very close. What if he perceived it as a bad memory and took it away? So, if your raevan ate from those memories then...That would really change the person's personality. Your raevan would be lazy wouldn't he! 8'D Them male lions, them, hurhur.
Shards of Happiness | You like shards don't you? 8D Hmm...This one...I'm not so fond of as Memory Fragments. It seems a bit bland, a bit needy...Undeveloped. We need to cook it more. I like how if you listen to them you can hear laughter. That's cool! But...here's that image thing again. Happiness, to me, always seemed light and bubbly, like in a gaseous form. However, I am proud of the soul that you chose to go along with this! I personally love ghosts and all things paranormal (*glances pointedly at Eiry*). A Preta is a perfect soul to put with this if you're really looking for collision and an interesting character. Perhaps you could develop what kind of Preta you've captured. Write a ghost story for how this person was killed. I'd like to know what they hunger for and what kind of paranormal activity they produce.
Inverted Flame | This is a very interesting essence you have here! Inverted flame? That's like...A frozen flame, almost. Or a cannibal flame! I really like this essence and how is sucks in warmth and light instead of cold and shadow. Out of all of these, there's not much that I can say or critique. I enjoy your soul choice as well! Sea horses have such defined characters and I would imagine the male being very matronly and dutiful, graceful and shy because of his soul. The clothing though, I would imagine to be different. I don't know what...Perhaps I'll get it later on...
I hope this helped! Good luck! 8D

@///w///@ Thank you so much Storei~
I'll try to upgrade my Shards of Happiness and what Nerio eats. xD I wonder what he could eat if it wasn't memories..Hmm. Maybe emotions? I think I wanted him to originally eat bad memories because like..maybe he felt lonely since he was the only white lion in the zoo. ; ^ ; So when he become a Raevan he slowly receieved those memories and thought that people would like to forget things like that..but then maybe he'll learn that all memories are good, sometimes even if they are bad! They make people stronged >:'D Yeah yeah..I'm just ranting now. D:
Thank you again for your advice~

The whole thing of eating bad memories reminded me of a webcomic I watch called 'Return to Eden.' In it there are beings known as Dreamwalkers. They can enter peoples dreams and communicate with them and as long as the Walker has two white eyes, both parties remember everything that is said and done. One particular Dreamwalker in the story is a demon with a curse and he only has one white eye, so the other party doesn't remember anything. Anyway, his curse is his wings which have a mind of their own and conveniently eat dreams, leaving nothing but nightmares. You're idea of having the Raevan feeding off of memories reminded me of this and I just wanted to share. Hopefully it'll help somehow while you continue to build your ideas. Btw, here's the link to the comic: http://returntoeden.comicgenesis.com/

Of the three ideas presented, the first fel essence, Memory Fragments, stood out the most. However, the fragments, reminds me too much of my own essence, Fragments o'Rainbow, moreso because its pieces of glass. I do like how you described the scenes within each of the pieces, however, it seems like you are being overly descriptive, so all of the ideas can be incorporated into your raevan.
Does each piece have to tell a separate story, or are they all pieces of the same memory? If they are parts of a whole memory, you could call it Shattered Memory or Memory Shards (to pull from the name of your other essence). This would also give an interesting power to the raevan. Could it help others retrieve memories/forget unwanted memories?
Remember that the fel essence influences the coloring of the raevan, and the soul will impact its appearance and costume design.
The lion soul simply rocks. I would be curious as to how one would catch a lion soul? Is Namini a crazed animal activist trying to liberate animals from a traveling circus? wink

Oh! I didn't even think of the circus for the soul. xDD For some reason I only thought about the zoo, thank you! And yes, I did go a little shard/fragment happy. *shakes fist at InuYasha*
I was hoping to make them three separate memories, but now that I think of it..I'm thinking that a whole memory just shattered or spread out seems better. Hmm..I'm also trying to think of a new design for Nerio, because Shu also informed me about the fel essence=color thing. ; 3 ; I'm not too good with these kinds of things!
Maybe I could make his memories like..a mist or something to try and escape being too close to your fragments? A mist or maybe..something. XD I have absolutely no idea.

No worries. Depending on the images in the memory, you can research colors and their meanings to help define what is being represented. Perhaps the vision within the memories are monochromatic, like one is sepia, another is gray, and another is.... blue (for example). This could help you nail down a color scheme for your raevan.
I think the mist could be present within the dream, and perhaps that is the only thing in all the shards that is a consistent color. Traditionally, fogs are white or gray, but maybe the mysterious fog is a different color... just food for thought.

I scrapped Huan-yue's concept because of its difficulty with the soul and because the essence lost my interest in the end..
But I shall replace her soon! XD

I saw that you posted some art work on the thread. How about sketching out your concepts and posting them here for us to see? wink Granted, your raevan might not end up looking exactly the same, but rumor has it that it can sometimes influence and inspire Kyou. ;D
