Jegor no to insult you but did you think there are other ways that someone could have gotten your password? Brute force is not a logical way to gain passwords it takes far too long. So say you have 52 letters (thats including capital and lower case letters) 10 numbers and about 31+ special characters so that is a total of about 93 characters. You then have to put all 93 characters next to one of those 93 characters. So with a password 4 characters long you have to times 93 to the power of 4 and that is about 74805201 guesses till the end of every try, now there are 60 seconds in a minute 60 minuets in a hour and 24 hours in a day.. so devideing that all up totals to 866 days rounded up and that is just 4 characters long... scary huh

What probably happened was he(you from that program you installed) installed a key logger on your computer and saw you type in your account name and then your password next, or he could have gotten your email address and password and gotten your account to change passwords that way.

okay, it really does look like I need to start coming here more often. alright first off, I would like to say that I HIGHLY doubt someone used brute force to hack into ur account. Hacking into someone's account just doesnt happen anymore. As someone mentioned earlier, why would they hack you? Dont try to take offense to this, but I know people on D2 who are richer than everyone in this guild put together. Dont you think that they would be a better target? I dont know how much ur account was worth, but just the fact that it is only one account, and that ur on gaia, I can assume it wasnt uber-godly (once again, dont take offense, its just that uber-godly has a different lvl for me than most people).

What most likely happened was that you downloaded a trojan. It happens. It happened to me. I long time ago, I tried a pindlebot, and my account was "hacked" months later. I screwed up. Move on. not much else to say.
