*"Aille! What is going on?!" Ceryn asked in exasperation as the younger centaur all but dragged her down the dimly lit pathway. It was one thing to go on night walks when they were planned, but to be shaken awake and pulled out from under your warm blanket before you had barely opened your eyes and then pushed out into the night was something lse all together! Aille, of course, spoke no answer. Instead the dappled filly turned to the cervtaur who followed her and gave her such a look of entreaty that Ceryn found her hooves picking up speed to follow despite her irritation and lack of sleep. Luckily for the two, it was a clear night. The moon, though not full, was bright enough to cast shadows on the ground in the places where the tres left the sky above the path open to the stars. The darkness was silent, only the sound of their two sets of hoofbeats breaking through the quiet stillnessm almost like two sets of heatbeats rolling across the land. With no warning, the two became one, as Aille bounded off the path she had followed into the underbrush. "Where are you going, you silver-coated, color-dotted goofball!" Ceryn muttered as she, too left the path. Aille's trail was easy to follow, and the warrior cervitaur shifted her fighting staff into a defensive position now that they were off the main path. There was always more danger here, something that Aille never seemed to be aware of. So intent was Ceryn on the dangers unseen, that she nearly missed seeing the surprise right in front of her. Kneeling on the ground was Aille and front of her was...something.... in the shadow of her body. "What have you got there, little one?" Ceryn asked, though in truth Aille wasn't all that little any more, having nearly caught up to her in height. The centaur lass smiled as she looked up, the moonlight shining in her eyes as she made the gesture that meant, simply "Family" and then lay a gentle hand shadowy form. "Oh my, Goddess," Ceryn said as she got a good look. It was a tiny wolftaur cub. The color seemed to be gren in the moonlight, with a lighter pattern that was hard to make out in the wan light. "How did you... Aille, I don't..." the confusion was clear in Ceryn's voice but Aille just smiled as she stood and picked the still sleeping baby up. While Ceryn was trying to gather her wits about her again, Aille very calmly and carefully began walking homeward, gently carrying her new sister to the place where she belonged. "Herper is never going to belive this!" Ceryn muttered, as she finally started in behind them.*
