Jiza grinned, nosing his paw. As much as the way here to the beach had been tiring, though, she had always welcomed a physical challenge, and sometimes she liked nothing better than to go to sleep a little sore, because the next morning was always a joy to wake up to. "The way back won't seem so long," She said with a small nod. "Now that we know where we're going." She didn't say it, but she too was tempted to simply get up and leave, to begin walking already and leave this soon-to-be memory far behind.
She turned her head back toward the sun, setting into the horizon and painting the sky with yellows and oranges. It had set the water aflame with color and light, and it glittered brightly in the face of the sun, blinding in its beauty. She felt Juke scootch over and close in the space. Despite the gentle coolness of the night, she felt warm all over. She, too, flopped her head onto her paws watching the sun sinking lower and lower, and leaned against him in blissful joy.
I love you. The words took a second to sink in, and when they did she lifted her head to gaze at Juke in surprise and wonderment. The three little words had blasted her entire world apart, into a new one. Sparklier. For a moment, she lay at a loss for words, blinking. "Juke, I..." She didn't know what to say. As she grasped desperately for the words that were fleeing her mind, she realized... Love? For Juke. She felt the same way, and somehow without knowing it, she had loved Juke for so long, and finally there was a way to tell him, a way to know that she did feel it. "I love you too."

For a few seconds, Juke thought the green lioness wasn't going to reciporcate the feelings, and things were going to get terribley awkward. He braced himself for it, but no matter what he did, he couldn't hide the warmth in his pale eyes. Jiza could throw his heart right back at him and he'd still love her. There was nothing to help it, plain and simple. Her response, however, didn't fill him with dread and discomfort. Instead, the little warm bubble in his chest burst, it's warmth spreading out to every part of his body. His skin prickled as if he was out in the hot sun of the savannah again for far too long, except it was a good sort of tingle. The butterflies were back in his stomach, fluttering quickly and threatening to move to other body parts. Usually, butterflies were considered a bad thing, but this time around... they were different, somehow, happy. As if to match his inward reaction, the music changed lightly, becoming more bubbly and soothing. It was as if the entire world had come together to rejoice with the male.
Without saying another word, he lifted his head and rested it gently on Jiza's shoulders. It seemed that no words could currently describe how he felt besides what he had already said. Not wanting to leave her without much response, however, he spoke in her ear from her shoulders. "Good to know." There was a playful tone in his voice, as if he was half kidding with her but still half serious. "It'll make the trip a lot more enjoyable, don't you think?" He smirked, even though she couldn't see it. With their newly professed love, he didn't want to over do a conversation. Bringing things ack to the journey ahead of them seemed like a good way around it.

Jiza smiled at his words, and turned to bury her face in Juke's thick mane. Something, she realized, she had felt like doing for a long while, but only now felt right. With a pang, she realized that this had been the most perfect time and place for a profession of love such as theirs, as she looked back at the sunset. The fiery source of light had dipped so low into the horizon that only the very top of it could be seen, but its fading light still had the sky etched with streaks of pink and yellow.
She listened to the sea, as its waves washed up the shore rhythmically, gently, seeming to match every movement she made, and she felt a strange light-headedness that was pleasant and fuzzy. Perhaps it was simply the adrenaline. Whatever the case, she dropped her head onto her paws, leaning lightly against Juke as she had done before.
"How bout we sleep then," She suggested, moving her muzzle so she could nose at Juke's paw. "Tomorrow's a big day." With her head still on Juke's paw, she let her eyes flutter to a close, thoughts of the previous moments running wild through her head. A small smile stretched across her muzzle. Tomorrow, they would head home.
