Quote: Well, it looks like Lia and Ancelin got along alright...they didn't seem to hit it off as great friends, but they seem like they'll be alright ones. If nothing else, it's a friendship forged of differences and interests - Lia and her leaves, Ancelin and her feathers. And Lia...that girl. I swear, I had no idea babies got into trouble this easily. If it wasn't for Akiya, the baby probobly would have injured herself by now - the moment I turn around she's either climbing out of her crib, trying to crawl down steep stairs, or something along those lines... I worry about what she'll be like when she learns to walk. If she has such close calls when all she can do is crawl, it gives a worried projection of her adventures while walking. -A

Quote: I've learned something very interesting about Aurelia...she's absolutely terrified of the dark. If Akiya or I aren't there with her when it's dark in her room at night, she starts bawling her head off. I had been wondering if she was going to be a fearless as she seemed, but...I guess not. Anyway, I wound up leaving the door open so light would go into her room. Then earlier today I went and bought her a nightlite - and she seems to like it so far. At least it's an improvement from her having a stranglehold on Akiya or mines neck after she finished bawling... -A

Quote: 6-7-05: PD with Sjajan & Mignon Quote: Indu collapsed onto a bench at the small park and let go of her baby with a sigh of relief.
"We're here. Go away, I hope someone snatches you."
"Oo."
Indu realized that Sjajan probably was hoping for the same thing and laughed, the babe was surprisingly sarcastic. Sjajan scooted away from her mother and crawled a short distance to the grass.
Aletea carried Aurelia into the park with her, smiling. It was such a nice day...it'd be a waste to not enjoy it. So here they were. She looked around, and saw only one bench - which had another person sitting at it. There was a baby crawling around in the grass, as well. Figuring that perhaps Lia could make a new friend, she headed over and sat down on the bench.
She watched Aurelia crawl into the grass, apparently heading for the other baby, and chuckled. "Babys sure are energetic, hm?"
Aurelia had set her curious sights on the other baby, and was making straight for her. Right when she was getting nearer however, a bird caught her attention...and then the little girl crawled a little bit towards the bird. Then the bird flew away, and she once again redirected her attention at the other baby. Sjajan gave the other baby a huge sunny grin and stuck out her hands to lightly touch her hair. Jani loved hair, everyone's was different!
"Jah-ee!"
She shouted her own name happily and pointed to her exausted mother.
"Innooo!"
Indu smiled at the other woman and nodded.
"Oh, yeah, I've got four... A teen, a kid, and two babies."
She stuck out her hand to shake the other woman's. "I assume that brat Chaco shoved that girly at you? A Sin'Aeis? Sjajan,"
She pointed at the blond giggling baby,
"Is a potato. What's yours? I'm Indu by the way." Aletea chuckled at the number of children the woman had. "Everyone I've met so far seems to have a great deal of children..." She extended her hand as well, and shook it. "Yes, though I wouldn't really call it 'shoving' her at me," Aletea said with a grin.
"Her name's Aurelia...she's a corn. Oh, and I'm Aletea - it's nice to meet you, Indu."
Aurelia giggled happily at the greeting - she had yet to meet anyone who wasn't friendly, and the little baby liked it that way. In response to the vocal greeting, she attempted one as well - though there was no way she could manage her full name. All she could say of her name, was the last few letters..."Lia!" Then she gave a wild gesture in the direction of her mother and spoke, "Let-ya." While should could at least her own nickname, she had difficult prouncing 'uh-leh-tia".
Sjajan giggled and tipped her head to one side. Lia. That was pretty.
"Lia Preh-ee!"
Unlike the corn girl, Sjajan had already had a bad meeting, with Ancelin, but she hoped to befriend the pheasant girl anyways.
"Corn? That's cute! I guess I say shoved, because well, I got all my kids within weeks of each other. I'm used to living alone. Well, mostly alone." "Me, I only have Aurelia and Akiya...Akiya is a (very) small dragon, and all grown up at that...so she's really my only child right now. Akiya helps me watch her," and that was something Aletea was very grateful for. Lia seemed to have a penchant for getting herself into trouble the moment she turned her back. Without Akiya, the little girl would already have had quite a few misadventures.
Aurelia gave another happy giggle at the compliment. She wasn't exactly very verbose yet, and had yet to even say her first (distinguishable) word, so didn't say thanks. "Bree!" she pointed at a bird that was several feet away, near the base of a tree. She seemed to like birds...or it could just be that anything that moved caught her attention. Sjajan was happy that the other girl could crawl, she just hoped that Lia was as... Adventurous as she was. Looking slyly over at Indu deep in converstation, her brilliant smile lit her face and she crawled toward the bird, which was near a bush toward the edge of the grass. She paused to glance back at the other baby expectantly.
"Lia?"
Indu grinned, she loved her kids, even if they were brats.
"Lucky you. Let's see, oldest to youngest... I have Zar, he's a Konokai, and he makes things catch on fire. Then comes Sjaji, who throws avacados... Then Kuoi, who adores Sjajan, but gets into fights with Neme, they both like to bite each other..." With a laugh Aletea spoke, "They sound like they're a handful...and will no doubt be moreso when they get older. Akiya is very calm, so I don't have a whole lot experience with extremely active children. Lia seems to have a penchant for getting into trouble, but she isn't incredibly wild."
Aurelia eagerly crawled along after the other little baby - she wasn't the most adventurous sort, but she tended to charge into things without being frightened. And with a friend - why would she be scared? She crawled along towards the bird as well, eagerly speeding up once they got closer.
Sjajan scowled for a brief moment as the bird took off into the air, that is, until she realized how far she was from the single stone bench in this part. A pleased grin touched her lips and she paused to pat her new friend on the shoulder in congratulations.
"Goo-jah"
She meant to say 'good job' but she hadn't come anywhere near mastering the english language yet. She sat back and pulled irritably at her tiny t-shirt. She hated clothes, besides, she liked to see the three brown dots on her shoulder... Which reminded her. Her big brown eyes lit on Lia's hair and she made a small cooing sound. It was so pretty! Green was one of Sjajan's favorite colors!
Indu giggled, Aletea seemed like a nice woman. "Seems like all Sin'Aeis children get into trouble. Why, just yesterday, one accidently bought a hentai movie at the mall!"
A hentai movie? How on earth did they manage that?" It seemed odd, disturbing - and a bit amusing, truthfully - that a few kids could buy it. Why on earth did the cashier not stop them, would be her question.
Lia grinned happily, and preened a bit at the coo. The other baby that she had met liked her hair as well, and she was starting to get used to people liking it...or at least, she was starting to preen under all that attention. It had only been two people so far - but it was enough that the baby was growing to enjoy such
attention. She eyed the other babys hair curiously..white? She hadn't seen any other kids/babys with white hair before - the only people she'd seen with white hair were old people. Being the touch-oriented person that she was, she immediately reached out for it to touch it. "You're going to tease me for that forever, aren't you?" Jeane asked, walking up. Mignon followed behind, dressed in another one of her crazy outfits. A hot pink dress made of sweat shirt material, big rose tinted glasses, a pink bonnet, and snake skin cowboy boots.
"Hi, Jani's mommy!" Mignon said, smiling up. "Hi, lady!" The girl bounced lightly on the balls of her feet.
Sjajan wasn't bothered by touch, she was also touch-oriented. She loved hair. She knew that her's wasn't as odd as Lia's, but Indu seemed to like it a lot. She nodded slowly and let a garbled word out her mouth that ma had said when she touched it.
"Blohn."
She meant blond, but as we all know, anything with more that one syllable is hard to say. All of a sudden, her eyes grew round and her head turned to stare back toward her mother. "PREHEE MIH!"
Her friend! She'd heard her! Indu blinked, then grinned as the Sin'Aeis she'd been talking about appeared on the path with a downtrodden Jeane.
"Hello Mignon! You look fabulous, like usual. Hi Jeane, rough day?"
She scooted slightly closer to Aletea to make room for Jeane on the bench and nodded toward the grass.
"Jani is here Miggy, and Lia, Aletea's little girl too."
Aletea smiled at the little girl, then at the other woman. "It's nice to meet the two of you."
She was fairly certain that the new child was a Sin'aeis as well...none of the Sin kids looked very normal, and while adorable, Mignon fit the bill. She gave a brief curious glance at the child, then looked back over at the woman.
Lia blinked in confusion at Jani, and looked over at where the baby seemed to be shouting at. "Beh?" It was more people...she didn't know them, but it looked like her new friend did. So she was more then willing to welcome them, and she looked curiously at the girl over there.
Mignon grinned up at the two, slipping off her boots, which looked to be at least three sizes too big. "I'll go play with them, okay?" She asked, looking at her mother.
Jeane gave the girl a thumbs up. "Sure. Go nuts." Mignon squealed and ran off. "Not a bad day, no. Nothing worse than usual. Onion baby there's been pretty decent today, actually. Got kinda mad when I wouldn't let her watch her "Underwear lady and her pet squid" movie. That thing went in the trash." She
shook her head slightly.
The girl in question skipped over to the two babies. "Hi, Jani!"
She squealed, bouncing up and down. "And you're Lia! What pretty hair you have! It's different!" She plopped down and tilted
her head at the babies. "How are you two doing? Good, I hope!"
It was times like this that Jani wished she could speak properly. Instead of outlining her plan to escape into the woods and create a tribe that would eventually come back to torture her mother, Sjajan cooed happily and said. "Jaee goo!" She pointed over to where her mother sat and tried to show her older friend that she
could remember what she'd been taught.
"Inooo, Oooch!"
Then she grabbed Lia's hand and grinned at Miggy to show her that Lia was a friend.
"...Jani got into the oven this morning. Yes. Inside it."
Indu was tired. Very tired. Aletea supposed that Mignon must be the one who accidently got ahold of the hentai movie, though she still was in amazement that somebody - especially as young as her - managed to buy one. She also gave a grimace of sympathy at the bit about Sjajan getting into an oven - what a freaky experience that would be. That'd be the last place she'd expect to find a baby crawled into.
"You two both sound as if you've had eventful days."
While Aurelia had no idea of Sjajans plan, she was very happy with meeting a new person. Especially one that seemed rather nice, as far as she could guess. Jani seemed to like her, in any case. So the little girl grinned happily, and gave her own version of 'good' in response to Mignons question. "Goo!"
She looked curiously at the older girl, not knowing what her name was.
"Meh. Usual enough for me." Jeane stretched out, slightly. "Nothing is ever uneventful at my house."
Mignon leaned down and kissed Aurelia on the forehead. "You're cute!" She chirped. "I like your friend, Jani!" Mig cooed to Jani.
Jani giggled and pointed at Mignon for Lia's benefit. "Tha' Mih, Lee!"
Indu grinned and nodded in response to Jeane. "I'm getting rather used to it too, it'll get easier... I think, my friend is moving in with me, so that should help."
Aurelia gave another happy giggle, and then smiled as she now knew the older girls name. Or at least, what she could call her - she didn't have to worry about mispronouncing what she was just told. It was told by another baby, afterall. She then pointed at the sky, and said, "Bree!" in an attempt to explain in one word
what they had been doing: chasing a bird before it flew away. The little girl didn't know how to convey it entirely, so just chose one word to do so with.
Aletea nodded, and after directing a sympathetic look at the other woman said, "Hopefully it will." It was difficult enough taking care of one or two babys at a time - she didn't want to think about how difficult it would be having the amount that many other people seemed to have. Jeane gave Indu a pat on the back. "When the tykes you have now grow up, they can help you out. Co's a help with the little ones. Lucky for me, I live with my big brother. Then Pep kinda just appeared, and Dhee, uh, well, that's a special situation." She blushed a bit, grinning slightly.
Mignon looked up at the sky, blinking. "Bree?" She frowned, thinking of what that could mean. "Birdies?" She asked, pointing up. Aletea chuckled at the other womans words - considering she had no idea whom each person mentioned was, it was still rather amusing the way she said it. Special situation?
Aurelia nodded energetically upon the other girl understanding that word. Then she pointed at the bushes, made "Vroom! Vroom!" sounds, and pointed at the sky. After that she mock pouted at the other girl...she was hoping she got the meaning clear, but...well, she wasn't incredibly skilled in the art of communication yet. Luckily, Jani was a bit better at speech than her new friend. "Burr foo 'way!"
Then the little blond's eyes darted over to where the older women were talking and she lowered her voice slightly.
"'Ear 'scaypin."
She was trying to tell Mignon about how for the first time in a few days she'd gotten the chance to slink away from her oddly diligent parent.
"Oooh la la! Dhee is it? Your boyfriend?"
Indu waggled her brows with a grin. "Uh... Yeah. We'll say that." Jeane said, blushing a bit. She didn't really want to explain the specifics. She hoped that everyone just thought she'd put on fifteen pounds. Again.
"Awww, the birdie flew away?" Mignon said, frowning. "Stupid bird. Shoulda let you catch it." She paused, thinking what Jani had said. "Escaping? Where to? I'd better 'scape with you. Mean things like to hurt babies." She nodded once or twice.
Aurelia blinked. They were escaping? Well...she hadn't know that, but it worked. She looked around curiously, to see where too - the bushes? Or the trees? The trees were kinda far away...so most likely the bushes, she decided.
"Bu?" she said, and pointed at the bushes. Then she looked at the others, to see if they agreed with her.
Aletea didn't think she knew the two women well enough to make guesses on things, but...Jeanes agreement seemed a bit odd. Well, rather her phrasing. Wouldn't she have just said yes, and leave it at that?
She was probobly just overanalyzing, but...well, she would ask but she figured it might seem a bit rude. She had just met the woman, afterall. Indu, on the otherhand, had no problem with being rude. A gigantic grin spread across her face and lightly prodded Jeane on the arm.
"Don't tell me you're preggers?"
She waggled her eyebrows at Aletea before giggling.
Jani's smile disappeared and her eyes narrowed as she worked over her strategy with a devious look at her mother.
"Scaype fah 'way!"
She jabbed a finger at the bushes, well, off into the distance, but it was a bit above her eyesight. "Mmkay. We'll 'scape over there!" The onion girl said, starting off in that direction. She giggled and skipped happily. This seemed like a nice game!
"Uh, yeah." Jeane muttered, rolling her eyes slightly. "The situation's a bit odd. That's why he's 'sorta' everything." "Well now I get--Sjajan Lynn Reever! Where the hell does your baby a** think it's getting too?!"
Indu jumped to her feet with an accusing finger pointed at her child. She was trying to run away again?! Honestly, it wasn't like Indu was that bad of a parent... She rushed over and lifted her child, gently picking up Aurelia too and eyeing Mignon before slowly walking back to the bench.
"Got yours too. Jani is a bad influence."
Plans foiled, Jani's little fists clenched and she made a low growling voice at her mother. Aurelia was a mite bit startled when one of the other women exclaimed loudly - and then understood perfectly when she saw that the babies had been starting to head off. Well...that was still rather much a surprise. She took Aurelia from the other woman as she handed her over, and frowned down at the little girl, then looked over at Indu.
"I take it Jani has tried this before?"
Lia just was a bit disapointed when they were caught - she thought they were going to have an adventure. Not get picked up by their moms. It would have been fun! Unfortunatly, the baby sounds she made at her mom, of irritation and complaint, didn't make much of an effect on the woman. Aletea frowned, as she noticed what time it was...she really needed to be getting home. "And I'm sorry, but I have to leave...I hope to see you both sometime soon, and it was nice meeting you," she said, as she started out of the park.
She delivered a mock stern look to Lia as she walked, "And just what did you think you were doing, young lady? hm?"
And then she was gone.

Quote: Meeting up with Jani at the mansion. Quote: Aletea carried Aurelia with her, up to the steps of the mansion. She had grown to like the place quite a bit, and Lia seemed to agree with her...probobly because there were always other little babies around for her to play with. Or it could just be because there always seemed to be plenty of bugs and birds drawn to the place, for her to 'chase' after.
She was just glad that Lia hadn't eaten any of the bugs she caught. Luckily, her little girl didn't seem to be the type to put everything in their mouth...just the type to grab everything. And she had yet to learn which bugs not to bother - she'd already had to 'rescue' Lia from assorted bugs such as spiders, ants, and pretty much any bug that bit or stung.
The woman sat on the steps, and put Lia down so she could play. Sjajan was getting good at walking... Too good. Indu scowled and ran up the path, just missing Aurelia and stopping with a terrified gasp.
"Aurelia! I'm so sorry baby, I didn't scare you did I...?"
The teen looked apologeticly at Aletea and shrugged.
"Have you seen Sjajan? She's learned to walk and--"
There was a crash, and with a loud cry, Jani tumbled from a nearby garden onto the path. Opening her mouth to wail, she caught sight of Aurelia and grinned instead.
"Lia!!" Aletea opened her mouth to tell Indu that she hadn't seen her, when she saw - and heard - the baby in question stumble into the path.
"...I think she found you, Indu." She smiled though, as it seemed the baby was more happy to see her friend, and hadn't even noticed her mother yet.
Aurelia saw Jani over by on the path, as well and crawled towards her quickly with a, "Jahee!"
Upon reaching her, she proudly opened her fist to show the bug she had caught - a catterpillar. And somehow, she had managed to not squash it yet..quite a surprise, considering most babies tendacies to grab anything tightly.
"Buh!" Jani loved bugs, for a practical reason really, they could help things grow, they looked cool, and they were alive. She gently touched it and then glanced up to give Aletea a gorgeous smile.
"Buh! Aye Eeeuh!"
Indu shrugged and sat next to Aletea with a grin.
"She refuses to acknowlege that I am indeed her mother." Aletea chuckled, "It'll be amusing to see if that changes at all, when she gets older. If she's already going through the usual teen stage of trying to seperate from your parents, it'll certainly be different when she gets older.."
She was very happy that Lia wasn't like that - rather, Aurelia crawled to her with every new discovery, wanting to show her. Well, she did that with anyone, honestly..
Aurelia put the bug back on the ground, and watched it crawl away. Then she looked back at Jani, grinning.
"Wahing?" She asked, curious about whether or not her friend could walk fully yet - she had seen Janis collision with the path.
"Fuh?" Meaning, was it fun. "FUH!"
But she couldn't wait to run. Jani scooted toward her friend and dug about in her tiny overalls pocket to pull something out. A tiny bracelet with charms, bug charms. She was glad that the other girl liked bugs as much as she herself did.
"FOUR JOO!"
"Oh, Jani loves me, but she treats me like an annoying older sister... She's cute."
Indu shrugged and grinned happily. Aletea laughed, "Well, there's that at least. At least she isn't entirely a rebellious little squirt."
"Lia's getting a bit better with talking...definintly not that good, but now I can understand some of what she says. Of course, it's very..." she paused, "...garbled."
Aurelia squealed in delight upon seeing the bracelet, and happily clapped her hands together. As she took it, she beamed happily at Jani.
"Pwey! Sanku!" she was getting a bit better at making herself understood...at least she could mimic words better now, even if she didn't get the entire word, or her pronunciation was a bit off. "Mhmmm, she's constantly up to no good though... She talks okay now, I mean, I always understand what she's saying... She'll be running soon, then I'll get really into shape."
"Elcum!"
Jani looked around and jabbed a finger toward the garden she'd stumbled from.
"Dirrr, graasssss" "It's almost a frightening thought, thinking about Jani being able to run around and get into trouble..." Aletea smiled, "I can just see her running full tilt into anything and everything."
Lia blinked at Jani.
"Pway dirr?" Or, as she would have been asking could she speak properly, "play in the dirt?" Indu spotted Jani making plans to escape off into the gardens and stood quickly.
"Oh no, no, no little missy!"
She hurried over and lifted the babe with a grin.
"Got you this time, say bye to your friend. It was nice seeing you Aletea, but we have to go!"
Jani scowled, then waved at Aurelia.
"BYEEE!" "Bye Indu!" Aletea stood up, and went over to Aurelia as the little girl waved goodbye to her friend. After they had left, she sat over there with Lia...Helping Lia find bugs, and making sure that none of them bit her, and that she didn't squash them.
After some time, the two of them got up and left.

Quote: I have started planting a garden in my yard...I brought Lia out with me, but she wasn't very interested in the actual gardening. She was much more interested in the bugs...I swear, every time I looked at her she had a different bug in her hands - and she had trouble realizing which ones she shouldn't pick up. I nearly had a heart attack when I looked up, and she was holding a spider... Then an ant bit her when she picked it up - it was a rather big ant, too - and I had to 'rescue' her...but it doesn't seem to have given her any restraint. She's just a bit more careful when she picks them up, so as not to hurt them, rather then not pick them up at all. Oh well...I just hope she doesn't pick up a spider again. -A

Quote: Yukito had his customary bag slung over his shoulder as he headed for Aylee's mansion. His last visit there had been a fun one so he was hoping for it to be just as fun this time, he loved to meet new people and new babies. Gil had been such a cutie!
He stopped to fix his hand which was helping to keep his bangs out of his face, aside from that he was wearing black jean shorts, a white tank top, and a pair of black boots. His silvery hair fell loose around him as he hadn't felt like tying it back and his tail was wrapped around his waist like a belt. He all but hopped up the stairs and opened up the door giving a sing song, "Hello!" Of a greeting as he walked into then went down the hall to check the livingroom. Aletea had decided that today would be another good day to visit the mansion - but they hadn't actually encountered much of anyone yet. The end result, had been her and Lia sitting in the living room...Lia utterly fascinated by the shiny yellow pendant hanging around her mothers neck. When they heard a hello called out, The woman looked over towards the door, pleased that somebody had arrived.
"Hello there.." she said, upon noticing a boy - Sin'aeis, she figured - though he was one she hadn't met yet.
Aurelia looked at the pendant, occasionally speaking in the baby garbled words. She didn't even notice anybody else being there, until Aletea spoke to them, causing the baby to look over. She let out a happy baby gurgle, though warped much, still was obviously some form of greeting. Yukito gave a wave as he walked over and set his bag down on the floor and walked over to them looking at the baby a smile on his lips, "Hello there." He greeted them both, "My name is Yukito." He introduced himself politely. He looked the little Sin'aeis over soon finding himself quite facinated with her hair, it looked like she had a plant on her head. How wonderful!
The end of his tail was soon flicking back and forth and it undid itself from his waist as if of its own accord to lash back and forth happily, "She is very pretty." He murmured looking up at the baby's Protector.
"It's nice to meet you, Yukito. I'm Aletea, and this little one.." Aletea reached over, playfully flicking one of the babys leaves, "..is Aurelia. Lia for short." She smiled at the boy, "Yes...she is pretty, but she seems to have a tendacy to twist her leaves. If it was normal hair it wouldn't be a problem - but as it's leaves, I keep worrying that she's going to damage them."
The boy was polite, and certainly seemed rather mature..so the woman decided something, since he seemed so fascinted by Lia. "Do you want to hold her?"
Lia looked curiously at Yukito, her attention having swiftly changed from being upon that amulet, to being on the new boy. Somebody she didn't know...she always liked meeting new people. Especially when that had long dangly hair - or feathers, like Ancelin - and this boy had long hair. The little girl hadn't noticed the tail yet, just the hair - and being the sort of baby that she was (i.e. grabs everything), she reached out for it. Yukito nodded his head rapidly, "Oh yes! I would like that." He said sitting sound and then smiled watching as the little one, Lia she was called reached out for his hair. He gave a grin, well better his hair then his tail though he was sure she would want to pull on it next. Not that it really bother him all that much.
"Do you want me to look at the leaves? I'm both a gardener and studying to be a healer so if there is anything wrong I might be able to help." He offered to Aletea. Aletea carefully handed Lia over to Yukito, so the boy could hold her. She noted with amusement, that Yukito didn't seem to mind Lias...tendacy for grabbing things. Lia had grabbed hold of his hair as soon as she was in reach, and it wasn't exactly a gentle grab at that..though it wasn't as hard as it could have been, either. The little girl at least knew not to yank.
"Oh, would you? That would be wonderful...thank you."
Aletea would have taken a look at the leaves herself, if she understood how she could guess them to be alright. She didn't really know all that much about leaves, or plants in general - she had recently started a garden, but she wouldn't exactly call herself the...most skilled, or knowledgable gardener. Yukito gave a smile as he lifted his hand to touch one of the leaves turning it back and forth to look it over then gave a nod before moving to the next, then the next one until he had looked all over. They seemed to be actually in quite good condition and not of a plant that he had gotten to see before. He wondered what element she was born of, "They don't look that bad off." He said though reached over and wrapped his tail around his bag to pick it up and set it on the couch next to them.
"Let me see." He murmured digging through it and found some stuff that he had used on some of his roses when they were looking a little down. He read it over and it said that it was all natural and not in anyway harmful to people. He took a little to rub into small creases in the leaves, "I think that they are stronger then normal plant leaves from the feel of them so they should be able to stand up to her tuggings."
He replaced the bottle into his bag and smiled at Lia, "You did very good. You known normally Kellen gives his patients lollipops but thats up to your Mum." "That's good to hear...at least I don't have to worry about it anymore," it was a relief...Aletea had been worried that Lia might do irreparable damage to the leaves - so this was good news. Then, at the comment about lollipop, she smiled. "I think Lia deserves one, after sitting still that long...if you don't have a lollipop, I can find her something."
The reason for the little girl sitting still so long was obvious; she had discovered Yukitos tail. She had taken hold of it, and after rubbing the fur on it several times, snuggled against the boys chest...apparently deciding now as a good time for a nap. With a quiet chuckle, Aletea spoke, "She'll have to get her treat later, I suppose."
She redirected her gaze to Yukito, curiousity in it. "So, if it isn't too intrusive...what element are you? Lia here's Corn, but I haven't been able to guess yours.." Yukito gave a little 'Aww' sound as the little one snuggled up to him with his tail. She was adorable! He dug a lollipop out of his bag and held it out to Aletea so that Lia could have it for later if she wanted it, "Its not intrusive at all. Some of us are easy to figure out what it is that we were born of and others not so much." He told her, "My element is White Chocolate, our Breeder Chaco made me first. I think he chose it since it was similar to his own which is Milk Chocolate. Just what I think though." He could be wrong. Aletea nodded. "That would make sense...he probobly wouldn't want to create something extremely different. I know if I was ever in a situation like that - ignoring the unlikeliness - I'd probobly want my first one to be something I could understand easily."
She took the Lollipop and stuck it in her purse, for Aurelia to have later. The little girl would doubtlessly enjoy it...whenever she woke up anyway. She eyed the baby for a few moments, debating over whether or not she should take her home for her nap...but she seemed very comfortable on Yukitos lap, so was hesitant to do so.
"I'd take Lia home for her nap, but I think she'd probobly drag your tail along with her," dryly spoken, "It looks like she has quite a grip on it." Yukito couldn't help but laugh, "I'm rather used to it by now. I get it tugged on by most that I meet. Luckily I have yet to lose it." He said to her before looking down at the little Corn girl who was trying to claim his tail as her own. He didn't really mind he just didn't see what was so facinating about his tail. Maybe cause it had the fluffy bit on the end of it? Thats all that he could think of. Aletea smiled in amusement at how easy going Yukito seemed to be - it was pretty obvioust that the boy had to like children. Why else would somebody tolerate being pulled on all the time by them? And after debating over something in her mind for a few minutes, she decided that she should probobly take Lia home. As good natured as the boy seemed, he probobly wouldn't like being stuck with a baby on his lap for a long period of time.
"I should probobly be getting Lia home," she said this as she reached over and carefully disattached Lia from the boys tail - and once she was done, she was amused to see that the baby was still asleep. "Once again, it was nice meeting you, Yukito. And thanks for inspecting her leaves for me..hopefully we'll see you again soon!"
And after waving, Aletea carried Lia out, heading for home. Yukito waved to them as they left, "That was nice." He murmured then laid back on the couch digging a book out of his bag and set to work reading it.

Quote: Ah, the fourth of july...even if you don't care much for patriotic type things, that day is one to be enjoyed. Fireworks are much fun. I decided to stay home and spend the fourth with my little family, and they all seemed to enjoy it - we were close to enough to where they were shooting off fireworks that we had a good view, but not so close that it was deafening. Even then, it was a bit loud...I had been kind of concerned that Aurelia would start crying because it was so loud, but she enjoyed them, as well as Akiya and Dyami. I'm a bit surprised at how Aurelia wasn't bothered by the noise - or the smoke. She just seemed to enjoy the lights and such...well, it is her first fourth of july. I suppose it makes sense that she would treat it as all other new things - to be met 'charging' head first. I just put Aletea to bed, and Akiya went to sleep...so I suppose I'll head off to bed now as well. It is rather late. -Aletea

Quote: This morning I went out to work on my garden a bit, taking Aurelia and Dyami with me. Aurelia could care less about the gardening - she likes the bugs, afterall. She played with the bugs for a while, as I gardened with Dyami around my neck...he seemed to enjoy it, at any rate. But then, it seems like he enjoys everything - kind of like Lia. Except...Lia isn't quite as cheerful as the pendant seems to be. Anyway, by the end of it, they were both very dirty; so I decided to give them both baths. Bad idea. Lia seems to like baths - but that makes her get very enthusiastic, throwing her hands up in the air and such, and making a mess...so while I'm trying to wash her and Dyami, it was rather difficult to keep hold of a small slippery pendant. I think I may not bath them together again...I can handle Lia in the bath, as long as I don't have to focus on anything else. As it was, by the end of it, everyone a clean - and I was sopping wet. -Aletea

Quote: My, time certainly has passed quickly! We got pretty busy, so I was unable to write in here...but I suppose that's made up by plenty of stories to tell. Lia's interest 'shiny things' has progressed to something that makes me wince a bit - to shiny, fragile things...the shinier, and sparklier, the more she tries to get at it. Like earlier, for example. I had decided to spend some time shopping, and for lack of a babysitter had taken Aurelia with me. (In hindsight, that was a bad idea - the lightness of my pocket tells me that easily enough!) We wandered for a while, and then stepped in to see what there was in a new store...it seems that this was also a bad move. The store was filled with the sorts of things that Lia just loves, the shiny and fragile. And expensive. The first thing she did that cost me money, was when she reached out as we were passing a shelf - she knocked a (well, I suppose it's technically 'crystal', but it was actually tigerseye) ball off the shelf, and it was chipped. I had to buy it, of course. But while I was - ahem, chatting - with the clerk, she stuck a couple of necklaces in her mouth. The clerk insisted that I buy those too, despite the fact that baby drool could easily have been wiped off. That was the end to that excursion, and I would have to say Lia came out the victor. She'd gotten me to buy her a toy horse earlier in the trip, and then I was forced to buy three more things. And the strange thing is, that as soon as we got home she stuffed her toy in her toy chest - didn't even play with it. I caught a glimpse in the chest, and - well, it seems like my little girl likes hoarding things. I saw a lightbulb and my brush (why would Lia need a brush? She can't exactly brush her hair), and a plethora of other things before she closed it. I would have taken them back then, but she seemed grumpy. So I'll just get them back tomorrow, so avoid having to deal with a grumpy baby tonight. Though come to think of it, that crystal ball and those necklaces aren't where I left them... -Aletea

Quote: "Explain it to me again."
"Wark. Wark. Wark wark. Wark." They were such odd chirp-bark noises as it was, but somehow the Sin'aeis seemed to understand them perfectly.
"Alright," Kilah dully said, agreeing with whatever her 'eye dog' had just said. Carefully, she reached a hand out and brushed it along the tops of the flowers until she felt the tulip brush against her hand. "Ah, here it is."
She plucked the plant effortlessly, and shoved it in her other hand, occupied by a few more flowers. Some may be surprised to know she had no plans of ripping them up or mangling them in any way, just gathering them together. For a gift, no less. "Anymore?"
Gizmo's eyes flickered over the flower bed, and finding no more of the same species he shook his head. "Wark." Aurelia had been enjoying herself - her mother absorbed in a book on a bench, she had taken the chance to crawl away. She hadn't gone far, though...just to the tall grass besides little garden. She could care less about the flowers there - no, what had caught her eye were the bugs.
She popped her head up as she noticed voices - it looked almost like she was another plant there, as all that was really visible from a quick glance were the leaves on her head. But something had caught her attention enough to drag her away from her bugs - a new person!
Crawling out of the grass, she made for the girl. Lia wasn't the sort to be shy; she had a new person to meet. As soon as she reached the girl, she held up her hands to present what she had in them.
"Buh!"
A very large grasshopper. Of course, Lia had yet to notice that the girl was blind; she was only a baby, afterall. Then the grasshopper decided to do something of its own - hop away. And hopped right onto Kilah."What the ******** was that?" It wasn't really a nesscary question. Any idiot would know it was a baby, especially someone with hearing as good as hers. The real question should be: Who's baby is it?
Even with the young ones, she recognized voices. This one she didn't at all, meaning that hadn't met before. "You recognize it, Gizmo?" Lately, she'd gotten into a habbit of calling most babies 'it'.
"Wark." Again, the griff shook his head. When something jumped onto Kilah's arm, she tilted her hand and carefully scooped it up with her free hand. Those who didn't know her that well would've expected the dubbed "violet" girl to smash it, but she merely shifted to the side and set it down in the grass. Lia tilted her head curiously at the bigger girl - the corn girl was beginning to understand words, but she hadn't understood some of that. She didn't even think she had even heard it before. She wrinkled her forehead in a somewhat comical move.
"Fu-hk?"
A questioning tone, it was her attempt at mimicking Kilah's word; she had never heard that one before.
In her excitement at meeting a new person (and because of her easily distracted mind) she had already forgotten about her grasshopper. Now, this had happened before. The previous times it had been someone she either liked or could tolerate--so she hadn't hesitated to warn them not to say that around their protector unless they wanted to be held in lock down in their room for a week. Far as she knew, that was the punishment within all households.
However, because this baby was a stranger--no one she cared anything about--she didn't bother with such things, instead merely amused by it. "Yes, fu-ck. It's a fun word, isn't it? See, they both begin with 'F'." Ah, Kilah, such a good citizen. Teaching the youngins' the alphabet.
"You got a name, small fry? Or you still in that too-stupid-to-understand-me stage?"Aurelia perked up slightly at the word 'name' - she understood that one. She knew what sort of response it required as well, as it was one she had heard alot. The rest of the sentance was a mystery to her, but she understood enough.
"Lee-uh!"
...though obviously, her diction wasn't the best.
Now, Lia had never been remarkably observant - so it wasn't too surprising that she only just now noticed the blindfold over Kilah's eyes. She likely would have advanced upon that curious route, if it hadn't been for her finally noticin the griffon (though she didn't know that was what it was).
She eyed the griffon, her eyes growing wide and her mouth opening in surprise - it looked...like a bird. Or something else. The baby was having trouble trying to figure out exactly what it was.
"Birdie?""Yes, birdie." Considering she couldn't see, it was fair she'd assumed the other Sin'aeis had been speaking about her. She did have wings, and she was a bird. Gizmo wasted little time in alerting her of her mistake, nudging her arm and giving one of those 'warks' of his.
"Oh," Kilah realized, nudging him away. "Gizmo? He's called a 'griff'. He barks like a dog and catches s**t on fire. It's pretty bitchen. Where the hell is your protector? I swear, always leaving these damn babies out here alone!"A few moments before, in fact, Aletea had finally looked up from her book to notice that Aurelia was missing. Which led to rather panicked search of the tall grasses (because she'd known Lia to play in there) before she noticed her sitting next to a child.
And luckily, she missed the conversation. If she had even heard the last bit, she would have had her baby out of there pretty quick.
She walked over to the younglings, and then spoke in a reprimending tone to Lia.
"Aurelia! I look away for an insant and you're crawling away..."
Lia, of course, just looked up at Aletea with a puzzlingly innocent face. Though the fact that she often crawled off on her own, and seemed to understand when she got into trouble, suggested that it might not have been an entirely truthful expression.
Then, glancing to Kilah, she apologized.
"Sorry if she was bothering you...""Nah, she's alright. I just don't want any damn babies wandering out here alone and getting taken by the man or anything." Since she'd been able to talk (and usually not stop doing so), Kilah had blamed everything on 'the man'. Truth be told, she wasn't sure who 'the man' was, but she'd heard him mentioned in a lot of the movies and guessed he was one hell of an a*****e.
Lower the level of cursing? ******** no! Kilah standards didn't lower or rise for anyone, or at least not right then. Ah, arrogant youth. "For the record, if anyone had tried with us here Gizmo could just maul them. Ain't that right?"
"Wark," the griff confirmed, nodding his head with a bit of a nervous smile. Parents never seemed to react well during their first meetings with Akilah.Aletea eyed the child with a look of growing discomfort. That certainly had not been what she was expecting - she was honestly tempted to scold Kilah for her language. It wasn't too much, though, and it wasn't as if the girl was hers. She'd feel strange scolding another persons child.
So she let it slide, though she decided to take Lia home soon. She didn't want Aurelia to learn that kind of language. Then the woman turned her gaze to 'Gizmo' - and, well, she had to agree. Gizmo looked like he could maul just about anyone.
"He certainly looks like he could..."
It was spoken weakly, as she still tried to judge exactly what to think of this girl; she acted more like what Aletea thought a rebellious teenager would act, then a child. Then, shaking her head slightly, she introduced herself. Maybe the child would become a bit politer? She doubted it from what had already been said, but you never know...
"I'm Aletea, Lia here's guardian...and you are?"
Aurelia was quickly becoming bored; watching the Griffon had interested her for a few moments, but her attention span was short. And all her mother and the older girl were doing was talking! A pout was beginning to grow on her face, as her mother being right there and attentive wouldn't allow her to crawl back into the grass. For Kilah, this was polite.
"Akilah," she answered. "Kilah's fine." She didn't know anyone who constantly added the 'A'. If anyone ever did, it'd just some weird. Mind you, she had a few other nicknames like 'Lala' and 'Kiki', but if you weren't a certain person she wouldn't hesitate to throw one of those daggers of hers at you if adressed that way.
"Ah, so you're her protector? Well, you sound a lot damn smarter than half the idiots I see running through here." Including her own. Noyama had the intelligence of... Well, she wanted to say a rock, but didn't want to insult it.
Meanwhile, Gizmo's feathers puffed up proudly. One day, he'd be a hero and save a baby for real! He could only imagine how much attention that could get someone...The comment Kilah made surprised a laugh out of Aletea - she hadn't been expecting that. The child was rough and crude, but...well, she at least seemed somewhat polite. In her own sort of way - even if it was filled with language she didn't approve of. And of course, compliments always went a long ways towards paving good relations with a person.
"I'll take that as a compliment. It's always good to hear that I'm smarter then most idiots," She stated this in an amused tone, finding that she was beginning to like the girl.
A quick glance down to Lia, and she noted the boredom present in the babies face; she'd probobly fall asleep soon. Thus, she wasn't too worried about her picking up on some of those words...all the same, it wouldn't do for the baby to fall asleep in the park.
Her gaze lingered curiously on the blindfold Kilah wore, but she moved on without posing a question. "Well, I'm afraid I should be getting this little one home...she'll be cranky if she doesn't get her nap. Thanks for keeping Lia from wandering too far away..."
"And you're welcome to come visit us sometime, Kilah - we just live a little ways from here. We come to the park alot, so we might see you again sometime soon. Enjoy your afternoon," Aletea considered that that might not have been the most intelligent thing, but she generally went with her impulses.
In hindsight, she thought she knew where Lia had learned to be so impulsive.
Then she lifted Aurelia up into her arms, and made her way out of the park.

Quote: Well, the day after Thanksgiving...and I'm still so full that I can barely eat. Which is bad, of course, since there are so many leftovers. I'll be eating turkey for a while, I think. Though it looks like it'll all be up to me to eat the turkey - Lia didn't like it. Of course, she is a baby, so mashed up turkey likely didn't taste very good...Akiya ate some, but he doesn't care much for turkey either. I like it alright, but all the same - after a few days of eating turkey, anything else looks good. Though, Lia did like the cranberry sauce. And of course, the vegetables - she doesn't seem to care much for meat in general. She'll eat it, but she pouts the entire time - it's somewhat amusing, really. Most young children pout when they're forced to eat vegetables...she pouts when eating meat - but loves the vegetables. Ah well; that's what happens when you have a daughter formed from corn. At least I'll never have any problems getting her to eat her veggies. -Aletea

Quote: Ah, December...the holiday season. And, it seems, Lia's first cold; it's not exactly at happy occasion. Whiney, sniffling, crying...it's like she's done a complete reverse from her normal behavoir. I guess that's what happens when she gets cranky, though. I'm halfway worried she's going to give me her cold..I'm with her all the time, afterall. Oh well; maybe what would effect a baby wouldn't effect me. Anyway, I'm starting to prepare for Christmas. I put up the tree yesterday, and I'm working on getting the lights and ornaments on there now. Apparently, I don't have too many ornaments, and that got me to thinking about what my parents did for me as a kid...every Christmas, they got me and my sister an ornament that was 'ours' - meaning we picked them out when older, and then when we left home, we took them with us. Some of the early ones even have our names engraved in them. So, I'm doing that with Aurelia. I took her to a shop earlier, and wandered around a bit to see if she would show any inclination towards one. Not surprisingly, she chose a sparkly red glass one. I'm not about to let her play with that one too much... -Aletea

Aylee Aurelia: Ability Gained! It seems as though Aurelia has been a bit of a packrat with gathering the items that she needed! Well nevertheless, it accomplished the goal of the quest. ...And that was so not meant to rhyme. Anyway, once the time period elapsed. Something happened, and the moment Aurelia opened the chest again she was filled with a new ability! Now she can... Conjour weak light-based magic!

Quote: Well, I don't think I'll be having many more problems with Lia's fear of darkness. She seems capable of taking care of it herself - when her nightlights not working, anyway. I was a bit surprised when I walked in the other night... I'll start at the beginning. Yesterday, it snowed quite a bit; more ice then snow in the end, though. It was alright, if a bit thick. Then in the late evening, the power went out. I'd already put Lia to bed - I was expecting to hear her start to wail when that happened, as her nightlight would have gone out as well. So I headed up there, and was starting to feel worried as there wasn't the usual sounds of a scared baby. Then I noticed there was light coming from her room. Floating above her in her crib, was a little ball of light. The distance the light traveled wasn't very much, but it was enough to keep Lia from crying at the dark. Honestly, I'm still a bit confused about it all. I mean, I knew that Aurelia would eventually get powers...I just hadn't expected them when she was still a baby. At least it's not something destructive - I could just picture things being destroyed during a temper tantrum...as it is, I might still have to worry about getting blinded by flashes of light. Good thing she's getting over her cold, or else that could be sooner then I think. -Aletea

Quote: I spoke too soon. Her cold hasn't gone away, though it's at least a little bit better. All the same, she's one grumpy, whiney little girl right now. I could deal with that easily - its when she throws temper tantrums that there's a problem. Especially when those temper tantrums are assissted by bursts of light - the only thing I can be relieved about there, is that she tires after that. So, even if I'm momentarily blinded, I guess the end of that tantrum is a halfway decent tradeoff. Anyway, once she's feeling better, I need to get her out amongst her peers some more - she's usually a social one, and I think part of the reason for her crankiness is that she's cooped up. It's too cold to play outside (well, with her having a cold, anyway), so I think I'll set up a playdate. Maybe someone Lia hasn't seen in a while, or someone entirely new... -Aletea
