going outside!" Phantom called back to the house, Cameo held in her arms. She shifted the little girl in her arms and continued. "Just to the front yard, so don't lock the door behind us!"

There was a "whatever" and a "sure" from inside the house, followed by Phantom rolling her eyes. She said nothing, however, and proceeded to the front yard. Setting the little hooved girl on the grass, Phantom gave Cameo her kitty plushie. "There ya go, Cameo." She pat the girl on her head and sat down next to her. "And it's nice and sunny out too."


 PJ just happened to be walking by holding Junketsu in his arms. It was a rather nice day out and he wanted her to get a bit of fresh air. As he was passing by he noticed a a girl, with what looked like another Sin'Aeis child.

"Oh um... hello, is that by chance a Sin'Aeis child?"


d and then abruptly her shyness took over and her cheeks flushed red. "Aah - yes, she is." She look up at the man, and then spotted the child in his arms. "Is she too?"

Cameo smiled up at the new comers and waved clumsily. "Aaa!" She pointed to herself. "Ca-o."

Phantom. "Her name is Cameo." She translated, momentarily forgeting her shy demeanor. "Aa-" She stood up, brushing the grass off her skirt and held out a hand in greeting. "I'm Phantom."


k at Phantom "Yes she is, her name is Junketsu. PJ took Phantoms hand and shook it vigerously "My name is Pat, however many people just call me Pj. Its a pleasure meeting you Phantom.

Junketsu looked down at Cameo, but not so much at Cameo as towards her kitty plushie "Ca-oo?" Junketsu pulled a cow plusie with the word "Junkie" on it out from her blanket and showed it to Cameo "caaa!"


PJ and Junketsu then." Phantom smiled lopsidedly, the absence of her shy front showing she was taking a quick liking to PJ. Looking around briefly, she bit her lip. "Uh-if you're planning on sticking around we could go inside. Or we could stay out here if you want." She tucked her hands behind her back shrugging. "I was only planning on staying out here briefly anyways."

Cameo looked up to Junketsu and her plushie with a smile. "Aaganeeee!" She clapped and pat the kitty plushie beside her. "Kiiiyiii."

 "Um.. we could do what ever you like. I don't mind the outside, however it seems to be getting a little cold out now."

Junketsu reached down to Cameo and started to cry

"Okay you wanna go play with Cameo now?" Pat plced Cameo down on the ground next to Cameo. " Now play nice Junketsu. Maybe you can show her your doll."

Jubketsu pushed her cow doll towards Cameo. It seemed she wanted to share. "caw?" She pointed to Cameo's kitty doll and looked confused, as if she were thinking what is that one?


"And it was just nice out too." Phantom mumbled under her breath, running a hand through her not-so-long hair. Darn habit. "I suppose we should go in then. It's warmer in there."

Cameo blinked. "Caw?" She looked down at her kitty plushie and frowned shortly before breaking into a smile. "Kiiyii." She stated simply, putting her hands ontop of her head like the ears of a cat. "Kiiyiii kaa." She looked up at Phantom as she bent down and pat her on the head between the horns.

"You ready to go in? We shouldn't stay out in the cold."


"I know, the weather seems so odd today, well okay lets go then." PJ walked over and picked up Junketsu.

As Junketsu was being lefted into the air holding her cow, she pointed down towards Cameo's plushie. "kiiyii?" She gave a nod a signal that she understood. "kiiyii"

PJ began to head towards Phantom's house holding Junketsu in his arms.


Phantom picked up Cameo as well and hurried foreward with the little girl in her arms. When she was level with the door, she turned to PJ. "Eh, my housemates shouldn't cause to much trouble I hope. Some of them are a little bitter but they tend to keep to themselves thankfully." She opened the door and stood to the side so PJ could get inside. "Hilian, I'm back and we've got a visitor so be nice!" She called inside, and was greeted from inside by another call.

"Fine, already. I'm not that bad."

Phantom shrugged and Cameo looked up at her curiously. She turned to PJ. "Go on inside."


"Oh okay thank you Phantom." PJ walked inside the house holding Junketsu in his arms. Apon entering the house PJ looked about "This is a very nice place you have here Phantom."

Junketsu struggled again to get out of PJ arms. "Doow doow!"

"Alright here you go Junketsu be careful!" PJ layed the girl on the floor and gave her back the cow doll. "Be good for our host."


Setting Cameo down on the floor as well, Phantom smiled softly. "Eh, it's nothing much here. We do what we can." She motioned to the couch, "Go ahead and sit. Ah-do you want anything to drink?" Looking around, Phantom was pleased to find that none of her housemates were currently in the livingroom. Probably in the kitchen, Phantom surmised.

Cameo scooted a bit closer to Junketsu and smiled. "Eeh ja gee." She babbled meaninglessly, drawing her plushie up onto her lap. "Hee na? Jaaneh."


Oh thank you, and I suppose I'll have a glass of water if thats okay. Thank you again." PJ walked over towards the coach and sat down, he seemed to enjoy being off his feet, Junketsu and PJ had been out and about alot recently.

Junketsu babbled a bit then started blowing small bubbles and spitting a bit. Once she finished with all that she giggled and clapped her hands. "Ca-o?" Junketsu took a small black and white feather out of her blanket and showed it to Cameo. "Kii laa"


"Alright then." Phantom bent down to Cameo's level briefly asking, "Cameo, you want juice, yes? Or just an empty cup?"

The infant looked up at her curiously for a moment, only some of the words registering in her baby brain. "Juu?" She blinked, then, "Eeetii." She stated simply. At a look from Phantom she ducked her chin and added. "Peeas."

Standing up, Phantom asked, "Does Junketsu want anything? I have a couple extra sippy cups if she does."

After that brief moment, Cameo turned to Junketsu. "Kiilaa?" She tried the name. It was familiar... Oh! Kilah! She remembered. It had been so long since they had seen each other. She looked closely at the feather - or as closely as an infant would - and smiled. "Kiilaa!"


"Yes, that would be very nice. Just get her a bit of milk and she will be very happy with that." Pat turned to Junketsu "Is milk good for you? Or would you rather some juice?"

Junketsu's eyes lit up and her head quicky turned to Phantom and began to clap "Miil?


"Milk? Okay then." Phantom hurried off quickly and just as soon returned with three cups (Phantom hadn't really cared for anything to drink herself at the time). She handed PJ and Junketsu their respective cups, and then gave Cameo hers. "Here you all go then." Phantom then settled on the couch next to PJ, smiling softly.

Cameo smiled up at her protector, babbled a little and then shook the sippy cup to make sure it was indeed empty. Reassured that it was, Cameo scrunched her face up in concentration (a rather funny expression on an infant's face like hers) before breaking into a smile and shaking the cup again. Hearing the liquid splash, Cameo sipped, grinning. "Juu!"


PJ smiled back at Phantom and took a sip from his cup "So how have you like taking care of Cameo? Thus far Junketsu has been easy for me."

Junketsu took the cup and began drinking from it, with in minutes she finished and threw the cup. But because she was still very young it did not go far. "baa?" Junketsu reached for her cow plushie and stuck one of the legs in her mouth, she then started drooling on it with a satisfied smile on her face.


Phantom shrugged. "Pretty easy on my end I suppose, though she's recently been making quite a mess around the house with that ability of hers. She's a sweet little girl, really, but still a baby."

Cameo looked curiously at the cup and back at Junketsu. "Kaau? Jaa goa." Cameo drew her plushie closer and giggled as Junketsu stuck the cow in her mouth. "Caw aaa ne."


"Yeah, the kids are great. And her ability? What on earth does that mean? Oh I hope it won't making raising children incredibly difficult."

Junketsu spit out her cow plushie and reached for Cameo's doll "Kiiyii mine?"


Phantom paused, thinking about this. "I don't think I'm the one to explain that. I barely understand it myself." She passed a glance at Cameo before turning back. "Cameo can make liquids from air." She explained, indicating the infant's cup. "Which is why I got her an empty cup, she loves making it on her own." Sighing, Phantom leant back in the couch. "But she ends up making a mess when she doesn't have a cup to put it in."


Cameo blinked, before looking down at the kitty. "Kiiyii?" She settled the plushie infront of her and pat her on the head. "Paa paa?" Then she paused again. "Hool?" She pushed the plushie foreward towards Junketsu.


"Wow that is definatly different, but at least it saves you from buying juice for her all the time right?"

Junkets blinked a few times at Cameo as if she were trying to process what Cameo was saying. "Kiiyii paa? She reached out and patted the kitty on the head, and then placed her cow next to it. "MOOOO" She was trying to imatate the noise a cow would make, however it did not seem to come out quit right


"Well, that is true..."

Cameo paused at Junketsu's reaction, babbling. "No hol?" Did she want to hold kitty? Maybe not, he was a little messy. When Junketsu imitated the cow noise, Cameo caught on and did her own, just as clumsy, imitation. "Eeeow? Rrrr!"


"Yeah. Well what happened to those room mates of yours? Are they around?

"holl?" Junketsu picked up the stuffed kitty and pointed at its eyes "pwee" Once she heard the cat noise Cameo was trying to make Junketsu got very silent. After a few seconds however, she began to laugh and wave the stuffed kitty around copying the noise Cameo was making

"Um...I think by pwee she was trying to say pretty...she must think the kitty has pretty eyes."


"They should be..." Phantom cupped her hands around her mouth and called out. "Oi, Hilian! You here?!"

A grumble was her response at first. Then Phantom's housemate showed himself from around the corner, running a hand through his hair and mummbling. "I'm right here, Phantom. What is it you want?"

"Are the others around?"

"'Venn only. She's in the kitchen."

"Aaa, thanks."

A pause. "Do I stay?"

"Only if you want."

Hilian rolled his eyes, and settled himself in a chair and nodded in aknowlagement towards PJ. Afterwards he lapsed into silence and watched the children quietly.

Phantom blinked at the mention of Cameo's plushie and rubbed her eyes as though she didn't believe what she saw. "It's amazing that she's actually let go of the darn thing. She won't let anyone take it from her much less share it." Smiling, Phantom added, "Maybe now she'll let me wash it. It's getting quite messy."

Cameo grinned as Junketsu attempted to copy her, oblivious to Phantom's comments or then entry of Hilian. "Eeei!" She clapped, "Ooo! Naa!"



PJ smiled at Hillian. "Its a pleasure to meet you. And I know, I'm surprised Junketsu is letting her near her cow. She ust got it, but she won't let it go, she sleeps with it, plays with it, eats with it. Its like everywere."

Junketsu clapped her hands and started to laugh. She really seemed to enjoy all the attention she was getting today. "Caa kiiyii Moo!"


Hilian quirked a smile. "Pleasure to meet you too." He turned to Phantom briefly. "Do you want me to get 'Venn?"

"What's she up to?"

"Sleeping."

"Let her sleep then."

Hilian shrugged and returned to just watching the infants interact. He had nothing better to do anyways.

At PJ's comment Phantom looked back to Cameo and Junketsu. "That's how Cameo is - or was anyways - too. I really hope she grows out of it," She sighed. "But you never know."

Cameo giggled and clicked her hooves. "Juuuneu caw jeeeya."


"Yes, I hope Junketsu grows out of it as well, shes very...clingy I suppose you could say. Oh dear, look at the time, Junketsu and I really should get going. We still need to put her room together. Thank you very much, it was great meeting you! We really should do this again some time. Pat walked over to Junketsu and wrapped her in her blanket with her cow.

"ca-o go?" Junketsu smiled at Cameo, because she was all wrapped up she was unable to wave. Thus a smile was her way of saying see you soon.

"Thanks again it was great meeting you." Pat started towards the door.


"Well it was nice meeting you too." Phantom stood and bowed briefly out of habit. "Maybe we'll see eachother at the mansion sometime, yes?" She passed a look at Hilian, one that clearly said: "Say goodbye. Or else."

Hilian rolled his eyes. "Good bye, then. If you ever drop bye here again, I'll probably be here. Even if Phantom isn't."

Cameo waved goodbye at Junketsu sadly. "Byeee."

Tug, tug. Sjajan grinned as she heard Indu's sharp yelps when her red hair was pulled. She liked the color, so pretty, and the texture, so silky spikey! Her ma was taking her somewhere, and she had promised it would be fun. She was sad that she had to leave Zar, but she wanted fun.

Indu scowled and shifted the baby to her other side before knocking on a door she had recently dropped a toy off at. A cow if she remembered correctly. Gulping nervously she shifted her weight and kissed Sjajan on the cheek in a rare display of affection. The little girl giggled and patted the teen on her head.

PJ opened the door to find himself eye to eye with a young girl, who like himself seemed to have a Sin child. "Oh, hello there, can I help you?"

Junketsu was lying on the floor of the sitting room slightly behing PJ, she had the stuffed cow that she had recently recieved. Apearently it was from this young girl.

She hadn't expected him to be home somehow. The nineteen year old turn almost as red as her hair and promptly suck her baby out before her, almost as a shield.

"Err... Yes... Hi! Uh... This might seem weird, but I almost indirectly know Junki-- er, Junketsu... I dropped something off a while ago and..."

Sjajan spotted Junketsu and the cow and grinned.

"Ow!"

"Umm, yes, a cow. Thank you Sjajan..."

"...You mean you were the one who gave Junketsu th cow doll? Well thank you very much! She really does love it, it means alot you would think of us. Well come on in if you like, or we could just sit outside if you would rather.

Junketsu picked up her cow and hugged it, she seemed to be showing Sjajan how fond of it she was. "my caw!" Junketsu put one of the cow's legs in her mouth, like she usually does to show that she is content.

"Er... Inside perhaps? Otherwise Sjaji'll try to... scoot for it or something..."

Sjajan reached up to pull Indu's hair and point at Junketsu as if demanding that she be set near the other baby. Indu complied with a wince and set the babe a foot or so away, watching her immediantly work her way over, seeing as she couldn't quite crawl yet.

Jani appreciated the foot in mouth movement, afterall, she often stuck things in her own mouth to show her affection. She threw things she didn't like as much. Like the mushy green stuff Indu tried to give her. With a gurgle she tried to say part of her own name.

"Shawee"

"Oh, okay well make yourself comfortable. There are plenty of chairs in this room." PJ walked over to one of the chairs and sat down making sure he had a good view of the children.

Junketsu smiled at Jani and tried to hand her the cow, and she also gave an attempt to say her name. "junn?"

Sjaji didn't have any special toys yet, just rocks and glass bottles, which she enjoyed, but her Ma always took away the rocks because she threw them, and didn't ever bring bottles along when they went to play. She was touched that Junketsu was willing to share and patted the cow with a sparkling grin.

"Juhn!"

Indu sat too, and glanced at her child with a smile. When Sjaji grinned, it was hard to remember what a trouble-maker she really was. Seeing how much she enjoyed the cow, she made a note to pick up a toy for the potato girl on the way home.

"Er... PJ is it? I'm Indu... Can you tell me more about Sjajan and Junketsu? I was rather left in the dark... I know they're not human..."

Junketsu was happy, she seemd to be getting along very wel with this new child. She babbled and drooled a bit, yet another one of her odd ways of showing how she was happy.

"Yes thats my name, and you know what. I feel the exact same way, I know not alot of these children, however they seem to be all based on food items. How they were born or made still confuses me."

"...Food items? What's Junketsu, then? I've no idea what Sjaji is..."

She gave an embarassed laugh, glancing at the children once more. Jani seemed to get along well with other children, even if she didn't get along as well with her adoptive mother.

Sjaji didn't mind drool, she drooled too, though not so much. When she was pleased, she liked to touch things, and therefore, reached up to place tiny hnds on her own tattoos.

"Why!"

She didn't mean the question, but the color of the stripes. Sjajan had a hard time with syllables.

"Actually I'm not one hundred percent sure what Junketsu is. she can in a blanket with a bottle of milk on it, so perhaps its milk?"

Junketsu also reached out at the tattoos, she also had tattoos on her hips, or they seemed to be tattoos. they were little black spots, resembling thos of a cow. "bahh?"

Sjaji nodded eagerly and pointed to the brown spots on her shoulder.

"Bow!"

Indu frowned trying to remember back to when she recieved her baby from the strage, shy boy.

"Then Sjajan would be a... Potato?"

The idea struck her as hilarious, such a cute little girl from a potato?!

Junketsu gentle rubbed the toattoos, they were like hers. They wouldn't wome off wither, as in an attempt to show how alike they are Junketsu showed Jan a small bit of her his, the place where the black dots were.

"Yup, I suppose so. I know its different, but its good. So where do you two come from?"

Indu was rather shy of talking about her past.

"Come from? Here and there... We live rather close to you actually, just up the street..."

Jani grinned delightedly and touched Junketu's for a moment.

"Prehee!"

She liked the milk girl.

"Oh, well thats great! We will see alt of each other then."

[i}Junketsu smiled at Jan, she two seemed to like the child. "baaboom?" She wanted to go play with the plushies now, so she crawled over to a corner and began to play with the cow and bear plush.

"Bahboo'?"

Curiously, Sjajan followed, crawling for the first time in her life, and not noticing since she was so preoccupied with the plushies and Junketsu.

Indu noticed however and cried out surprised.

"Yes, I supp--Did you see that! Sjaji crawled! Junketsu must be a good influence!"

She was grinning, proud of her baby for learning so quickly.

Junketsu sat in the corner and handed Jani the plush bear, she would play with the cow. "pway!"

"Yes I did, good job sjajan! My junketsu just recently learned to crawl. But it took far longer that it did for Jani, shes a smart baby."

"It's not so much her mind, it's just she's very active, and wants to move very desperately, I on the other hand, am please that she can't run. She's cause all sorts of trouble."

As if knowing she was the adult's topic of conversation, Sjaji glanced over at them briefly before accepting the bear and making it dance around Junki's cow.

"Pway!"

"Well I also am glad Junketsu can't run yet either, we have a large field near our house with an old barn and such. I don't like her near there, but she seemes to love it."

Junketsu waved the cow around in the air, it was suppose to be flying about just above the little bear. "caw fwy" She seemed to be telling Jani that her toy cow can fly.

Jani nodded as if that were the norm, Junki was older, so if she said that her cow could fly, it could fly. Grinning, she made the bear crawl over the milk girl's leg and jump, just missing the ground as she added a sound effect for it's landing.

"Whumph!"

She giggled gleefully and made the bear attempt the jump and miss again.

"Whumph!"

She seemed to enjoy the sound and looked at Junki to see if she'd also make it.

"Whumph?"

Indu grinned and shook her head.

"We've got a small neck of the woods up near my place, and Jani's always reaching for it, I swear, I call her my little Amazon Baby. Hrmm, if they grow together, I'm sure they'll both be trying to get into both places. We'll have to work together if we're going to keep an eye on them!"

Junketsu decided now was time for cow to fall from the sky. She let go of it and let it hit the ground, her timing was a little late, however she let out Jani's sound. "Whumph"

"Yes, definatly we live so close to each we will see alot of each other. Just drop by any time you like."

Sjajan giggled gleefully at Junki's sound and then scooped up the cow to check it over for injuries. Reassured, she hugged it and handed to back to the other Sin.

"'Or!"

She meant "your's" but it's hard to get those things out the way she wanted them to go, the baby often found.

Indu nodded and smiled contentedly to see her baby getting along perfectly well with another.

"Yes, I think we'll be seeing a lot of each other."

Junketsu smiled and took the cow back, then again she lifted the cow back into the air, making it fly once again.

"Well thats great, our children seem to do great togther, and your vwery nice as well. I see the two getting very close very soon."

Jani giggled and decided that perhaps the bear too, could fly. She raised it into the air and made it take rapid dives to the ground, spiking back up quickly and repeating it over again.

"Whoooeeee! Vroooh!"

Indu nodded eagerly.

"Yes, hopefully they'll grow together, Zar, her little brother, has Konokai friends, but I'm afraid that Sjaji won't feel comfortable with them, other than a little girl named Chloe."

Junketsu smiled as Jani made the bear fly as well, now she made her cow fly next to the bear. "Warrooowush"

"Oh your chil has siblings, that must be wonderful. Its just my daughter and I. Have you two met any other Sin'Aeis children yet?"

Sjajan made the bear do a barrel turn and grinned at her friend.

"Ow?"

She gestured at the stuffie in Junkie's hand and made a swapping motion. Would her new friend let her play with the cow?

Indu frowned briefly.

"Well, we did meet a few others. One, Mignon I think? She was really sweet, held her for a moment, she saw a little boy named Flitch, he had lovely blue hair, and she had a small meeting for about 10 minutes with a little darling girl named Vivian."

She nodded slowly after a moment.

"I love the two, I really do, but having them both is chaotic, they get into all sorts of trouble. Zar burned her a little bit ago, I only just removed the bandage..."

Junketsu seemed to understand, and she handed over the cow to Jani, it seemed she liked Jani enough to share her toys.

"Oh, well thats nice. I also met Flitch, however I have yet to be aquanted with the others yet. And it must be, having two children together, is there alot of rivalry? And is she okay, was the burn incredibly horrible?"

Indu smiled at his concern.

"Oh, she's fine, it wasn't that bad. He's only a baby afterall. They're a bit too young for rivalry. They just like to mess with my mind. He's a tad... less physical than Sjaji is though."

Sjaji looked delighted and patted Junkie's arm happily.

"ankoo!"

"Oh well thats good, and how young is he? Like a baby like Jani?

Junketsu smiledat Jani's desplay of affection, and while Jani played Junketsu crawled around over to her toy box, she went through it trying to find some more toys the two could play with. "Hmmmm?"

Sjaji set down the cow to watch Junki with interest.

Indu nodded.

"Oh yeah, he's younger than she is, actually."

Junketsu looked back at Jani, then went back through her toy box. And she pulled out a book that PJ had since his childhood. She took the book and returned to Jani and layed it infront of them. "Wead!"

"Oh, he must be very young indeed. Why just Jani herself is a young baby. When was Zar born?"

"I'm not sure of his birthdate, I've had him a little under a week as of now, though."

She smiled and glanced over to see Junketsu bring out the book, she glanced at PJ with a brow raised.

"Can she read? Sjajan certainly can't."

Sjajan stared at the words, puzzled and slightly upset. Her gaze met Junketsu's and she wondered what she meant, she knew that Indu read quite often, and read to her, but she didn't know how to. Perhaps her mother, or the other big person would help them?

"Eed!"

She demanded, staring at Indu and PJ challengingly.

"Oh no certanly not, she just likes the pictures, and when I read to her. It seems as the two would like us to read to them actually."

Junketsu also looked up at Indu and PJ, she also wanted the two to read the book to them. "eed me!"

Somewhat awkwardly, Indu got to her feet and approached the children. She'd never been read, or read herself, a children's book. In fact, she did read to Sjajan alot, but it was always whatever she happened to be reading. They would've finished the Count of Monte Cristo by now, only it was terribly long and boring, and Sjaji always ended up trying to eat it.

Still, rather than bringing the babies to the chairs, she sat next to them, and lifted Sjajan onto her lap. Sjajan, however, didn't seem very grateful and instead scowled at her, before looking at her new friend, who was left on the floor. With a tiny smile, she also lifted Junketsu and nestled her beside Sjajan. Once everyone was settled, she looked up at PJ and nodded.

"Why don't you read? I'm sure they'd appreciate it more, I often get overexcited when telling a story..."

Sjajan clapped her hands, reached over to pat her new friend, then looked up at PJ beseechingly.

"Eed?"

PJ stood up and walked over to sit next to Indu, and looked over at the book. "So what are we going to read today? Is it one of those odd little baby book?"

Indu nodded, squeezing both children affectionately.

"Looks like it."

Sjaji looked at the book curiously, her mother's had no pictures in it, so this was rather new to her.

"Well, okay then. Do you want to start it? I don't mind, I will if you want me to." PJ opened the book to page one and let the children see all the pictures, it looked to be a book on animals in a forest and such.

Junketsu giggled at Indu's hug and snuggled her face against Indu's shirt. "Eed!"

Indu nodded and scanned the page, grinning at the kids as she spoke.

"Deep within a beautiful forest, there were many animals, all very different, but all part of one huge family."

After giving them time to examine the page, she turned it, and nodded to PJ to continue the tale.

PJ took the book and continued reading. "They all are indeed very different, there were animals such as the lions, tigers, deer, qand even various types of bird. The one who led all the animals was a lion, the king named Samuel." PJ handed the book back over to Indu to continue.

Indu accepted it, and seeing as this was being told to two small girls, she decided to add her own line before continuing the story.

"However, Samuel couldn't do it alone, his sister, Samantha, was his most trusted advisor. She was a lioness. They worked together with a representative from each type of animal to keep the harmony of the forest."

"Yes kids, the forest was much like a government, with senators and the like. But yeah, no you probably don't really know much about polotics do you two?" PJ took the book up, they were almost through already.

"Samantha and Samuel got along very well with all the animals, there was almost no fighting ever, and even the people who originally came for poatching feel in love with the animlas and all became good friends." Pj handed the book back over to Indu to finish

Indu couldn't help but laugh, this was rather sophisticated for a children's book, but she couldn't complain, afterall, she often read to Sjajan from her history texts and anthropology books.

"So if you ever find a small animal, furred, feathered, or scaled. Don't hurt them! Instead, make friends, they could help you out in the end!"

Holding back giggles, she was only nineteen afterall, Indu closed the book and waggled her eyebrows at PJ.

"What a good read!"

Sjaji seemed to enjoy it and clapped eagerly at the adult's performance, before looking over at her new friend.

"Wow, I don't remember the book being so..um...well...advanced. Well yes it was indeed a good book, I enjoyed it even!"

Junketsu yawned and snuggled up again in Indu's shirt, she slowly began to drift off to sleep. She had been tired from all the day's activities.

"Oh, it would seem Junketsu is a bit tired now. So what should we do?"

Indu gently stroked the milk babe's back and looked at the drowsy Sjajan.

"I would've liked to speak to you more, but I think we should do that another time. Sjaji needs a nap anyhow, and so does Junketsu, it seems."

She slowly transfered the pale baby to PJ and cradled Sjajan more securely so that her back faced PJ and her head rested on the teen's shoulder.

Sjajan yawned and sleepily reached up to get a fistful of Indu's hair before sticking her other fist in her mouth. The babe found it comforting to hold onto her mother. She wanted to play with Junketsu, but her eyes kept closing...

PJ held Junketsu tightly, her head resting gently apon his head, she was already completly asleep.

"Yes, its best we let the two rest. However, I really did enjoy meeting you, it would be great if the two of you would come and visit again very soon." PJ hugged Indu, a gesture the usually used to show people now they were considered a good friend. "Take care you two. And sleep well little Jani."

Indu blinked at the hug, then a smile lit her face and she hugged back, one armed as she held her baby.

"Yes, we'll have to come over again soon! let me just give you my number and address..."

Being a writer, she always carried a pen and notepad and with the ease of practice, whiped it out and wrote, all one handed before tearing it off and giving it to him.

"Thank you for a lovely time PJ!"

The brown eyed babe lifted one eyelid to regard him gravely.

"Juh..."

"Sjajan says so too."

Indu smiled and opened the front door, waving at him before leaving.

"Come on Junketsu...No! No don't put that in your mouth! You don't know where it came from! Wow, only a little baby and already eating bugs. I knew the park was a bad idea for someone her age."

PJ carried Junketsu from the ground under a small tree just next to a small park, and over to a park bench. He bounced her a bit on his knee, while thinking over his day's schedule.

She was doing it! Escape was within her grasp now that she could sorta walk! Sjajan tottered down the path, her mother cursing and gripping her wounded arm. Jani had just gotten her teeth, and some were SHARP!

"Jani you come back here! I'll catch you in a second."

The baby stopped on her own and stared at Junketsu before bursting in her loudest voice and promptly falling over.

"JUHN-KEEEEE!"

The shout from Jani obviously got both PJ's and Junketsu's attention, PJ nearly dropped Junketsu off his lap, his note book and cell phone flew out of his free hand.

"Oh, hello there Jani, is that Indu behind you? Did you learn to walk just now?!"

Junketsu was now tring to climb out of PJ's arms towards Jani, she remembered her, and now anted to go play. "Dow!"

"Yeah, sure, in just a minute okay Junketsu."

The little blond make a weak whimper of pain from falling, and promptly forgot about it. She was staring at Junketsu with wide eyes. Her friend was here! She hadn't seen her since... Well, she didn't keep track of time really, but it'd been a long while!

"Junhn-kee! Jaaaay!"

She acknowledged PJ too, he'd been very kind to her, however, it was obvious that she was more interested in his daughter.

Indu approached rubbing her sore arm and smiled in delighted surprise to see the two on the bench, she'd met PJ before, and thought they'd gotten along rather well, but they hadn't got to talk all that long before.

"PJ! How are you? And little Junketsu! You've gotten so much bigger, much cuter than Jani here."

She prodded her child with a gentle foot and Jani giggled happily.

Junketsu reached her arms towards Jani in an attempt to hug. She was young, and thought this was how you always greeted people, as she had seem her father greet many people in this manner. " Jani ani!"

PJ also ran up to Indu and grabbed her in a bear hug. "Hey there Indu! I'm well, and yourself? Yeah she has gotten bigger hasn't she, and Jani is so adorable."

Surprising herself, Indu giggled and hugged PJ tight while nodding quickly. It was so nice to meet someone so... Energetic in their hellos. Besides, it'd been a while since she'd had a hug from someone her own size.

"I'm doing well, I have more kids now, it's rather hectic in my house, luckily it's large! Jani has missed Junketsu so much! She sits about moping, and I know it's for your daughter because she started sobbing whenever she saw milk around..."

Jani threw her small tan arms around her friend, and hugged her tightly, careful not to harm her, since she was smaller. A big grin was spread across her face.

"Ai Unkee, ow oo?"

Or, Hi Junki, how are you?

"Wow, even more more children now? That must be hard. Do you have anyone else helping you with them? Anyone at all?
And yes Junketsu missed Jani alot as well. When no one is around she won't play or anything, she just kind of sits there...bored.

Junketsu smiled as she greeted her friend. "ood? ow!" "Good! You?"

"Well, I've got Neme, she's a teen, which is odd, because... I'm nineteen and all, so we're more like sisters now. She helps a lot... It is hard, but I love them. I've just gotten a new little girl, Yael-Krei, she's adorable."

She pulled away with a grin and pointed to a bench, raising her brows to ask if he wanted to sit down.

"Oood ow. Pway?" Good Now, play?

Jani had a present for her friend, she'd been carrying it ever since their last meeting. Her little hand dug in the pocket of her small pants and came out carrying a black claw on a rawhide string, a necklace. She smiled proudly and held it out.

"Oi's aw." Kuoi's Claw

It was her big brother's claw, they often... Came off for some reason and at Jani's request, had turned his second claw into a necklace to match the one around Jani's own neck.

"Well thats good, luckily for me its Junketsu and I. And yeah sure lets go." PJ headed over to a bench near the children so they could still play but where still in eye sight.

Junketsu took the necklace in her hands and ran her hand over the smooth claw. She really thought it was pretty, the way it looked in the sun amazed her. She got the idea and put it over neck.



Jani smiled happily and pointed to the one hanging from her own neck to show that they matched. Wanting to catch up with her friend, but also irritated that she couldn't speak as well as she'd like, she babbled a moment before the words came out somewhat properly.

"Ah wak! Canooo?" I walk! Can you?

Indu sat on the sunwarmed bench and shifted on the bench so she could see him more easily and smiled.

"Yes, you two seem very happy together... Only you two...? No one else?"

She glanced over to the babies and grinned when she saw Jani hand over the necklace, at least she now knew why Jani had thought it so important to make it.

Junketsu touched Jani's necklace and smiled, yep they were indeed the same."wak? oo. i and!" Roughly translated Junketsu said "Walk, no. I can stand!" And with that Junketsu reached at Jani's shirt and pulled herself up.

"Yes, we are very happy together. Very happy indeed. And yes its just the two of us. The rest of my family died, long ago. They were casualties of a war. I lost everything then, my family, and all of our money"

"Oh... Wow... I mean, my parents didn't want me, left me with an aunt and stuff... Wow... I was actually talking more of roomates and stuff. Y'know, I've got some people living with me, like a girlfriend or something like that.... Junketsu can stand? Cute!"

Jani shoved herself off the ground and tottered a few paces to show off for her friend.

"Well, nope no roomates either, as for a girlfriend not yet. And yep she just recently learned to stand, it was weird, we were out in the garden one day and she just stood up. So sudden as well."


Junketsu looked in awe as her friend began to walk, it was amazing how quickly Jani developed. Maybe sometime she could help Junketsu walk.

Jani was determined to master getting around, then she could teach her friend! And then... And then they could play more with the big kids!

"Jani's been trying for... Well, ever since she got here, really. She's big on movement... That's too bad PJ, ever get lonely? My house is always lively."

Junketsu who was still standing at the time eventually had her knees buckle and plopped on the ground. "lay?" It seemed now Junketsu wanted to go play.

"Thats great, Junketsu has yet to manage walking, but she will when she is ready. She doesn't really need to walk, I have a bad habbit of spoiling her, quit a bit. And now, I never really get lonely. I have many friends and then there is Junketsu to keep me company."

"I still get lonely sometimes, I don't have many friends my age around here, and the kids keep themselves occupied with trying to kill themselves in the funest way possible. I can't really spoil Jan, even if I wanted too... I get a check every once in a while for a whole lot of money, but it's got to last, you know? And I have more kids than just her, so I try to get them one really cool thing they like, instead of a lot of stuff..."

Indu smiled and tugged at her shirt, smoothing a few wrinkles from her tussle with Jani. That child was a wild one.

"Unkee? Oo kay?" Junkie? You okay?

Jani toddled back to her friend and plunked down with a concerned expression on her face. She reached out to pat her cheek lightly and smiled.

"Oh well I have a bit of money in the bank, the bit I saved from before the house was destroyed. Its enough to get by on I suppose. And I love spoiling her, shes the only kid I really ever had at all, so its fun."

Junketsu smiled and laughed a little bit. She was okay, the fall had not hurt her, her diaper kept her from harm, plus she was used to falling like that no. It was standard procaution for babies. "Kay!"

"That's cute. Sometimes though, it gets hectic... I can't do stuff anymore, my friend wanted to go out somewhere with me tomorrow night, but I can't because I've got to watch Jani. I mean, the other kids don't matter, not because I don't love them, but because they can watch themselves... Jani on the otherhand... Well, she usually needs someone to keep an eye on her..."

Indu shrugged with a soft laugh and glanced over at her energetic child.

Jani happened to meet her mother's eye and give a wicked grin before waving her hands at the adults and turning back to her friend.

"Pway?"

But what would they play?



"Well, if you ever do want to go out and need a sitter for Jani, I'll be more than happy to watch her. She and Junketsu get along well, and I really do like her, she may be energetic. But that will be fun so its really no problem at all. I could also watch the others if you like? It will be lik a little party for the kids."

Junketsu pointed over to the children's slide, and quickly began to crawl over the sand towards the slide.

Jani half walked, half crawled after her friend, giggling.

"That would be... So nice... So, so, so nice... But not all of them, that would be too much. Just Jani... Thank you. You know the same goes for you, if you need to go somewhere. I adore Junketsu."

Upon arrive at the slide Junketsu looked for a ways to get up it. "ani up!"

"Well, its really no problem at all. And I will hold you to that offer, I was hoping to have alrigh off. Just some me time one day soon."

Jani grinned, this seemed possibly dangerous. Brilliant. She glanced around and saw the steps up to the slide, plastic, the crappy neon bright kind that adults always thought made babies happy. Not so dangerous, but then again, she hadn't mastered climbing.

Indu nodded sympatheticly, then glanced over at the babies. Slide? Jani? Danger. She stood quickly and pointed at the two, she wasn't sure about Junketsu, but she knew Jani would attempt the climb with wild abandon.

"We'd better help them..."

Figuring that he would follow, she jogged over and lifted Junketsu, giving the babe a gentle squeeze of affection before setting her on the top of the slide and waiting for PJ to position himself at the bottom to stop her from falling.

Beofre Junketsu was able to move towards the steps she was grabbed by Indu, she gave a slight giggle when grabbed, and once atop the slide she looked down in fright.

"Oh, Junketsu always seems to get into trouble when I'm not looking doesn't she?" PJ ran after Indu and sat on his knees at the bottom of the slide. "Okay Indu when ever your ready."

"Don't be scared hun..."

Indu smiled and let go of Junketsu, watching her smoothly slide down the slide. Her pant leg was promptly tugged on by Jani who glared at her for letting her friend go.

"Yikes, you can go now..."

She lifted her own child and promptly sent her sliding after, faster than Junketsu had been sent.

Jani giggled as her bangs blew back and she flew down the slide. It was fun!

Jani was getting closer now to junketsu it looked like the two would crash. However luckily Junketsu slid into PJ's arms with Jani just behind, both safe and happy. "Wow, they seemed to like that didn't thay? I was always afraid of the slide, even as a child as old as six or so. But then again I was never really a big fan of hights."

"I always loved heights, Jani seems to have gotten that from me."

Jani squirmed happily in PJ's arms and giggled.

"'Ghen! Gehn!" Again! Again!

"I'm not really sue where my fear stems from, I just never really like highs. Always seemed to scare me, for as long as I can remember."

PJ hugged Jani tightly and ruffled her hair, Junketsu was curled up against PJ's chest and began to drool happily "seems like they want to go again."

"Probably something in your infancy that you can't recall."

Indu grinned and reached over to lightly tickle Junketsu's belly before lifting the babe from PJ's arms to carry around to the top of the small slide again.

"All ready, Junki?"


Jani snuggled into PJ's arms and watched her friend with excited eyes.

"VROOOM juh-ee!"

"Yeah, Oh I got it! Prhaps I was dropped as a child? That would explain how some tims I tent to be a bit slow witted?"

Junketsu slid out of Indu's arms and down towards PJ, upon reaching his arms she clapped and looked towards her friend. Waiting now for her to slide down. "ani dow!"

Indu laughed and shook her head while grabbing Jani.

"You're not slow-witted."

She pushed the potato-girl lightly and sent her sailing down.

Jani giggled as she flew down the slide, then promptly decided she was done. What else could they do...? She spotted an icecream truck and her eyes grew huge.

"Uh...uh...uh...keeeem!"

Indu glanced up and let out a loud sigh.

"Oh god."

"Hehehe well, you still have not seen me on a bad day Indu." Pj grabbed Jani as she slide down the slide, and he instantly heard the ice cream tucks ever so hauting melody.

"Oh, well good thing I brought a bit of money, wanna get anything for the children? If we don't they could get a little fussy. That and well Junketsu still has not had any ice-cream and I want to see how she reacts to it."

"Yeah, sure, let's get them something and... Please let me pay? I just got my check, so it'd be nice to treat a friend for once. You want something too, right?"

She certainly hoped so, that way, she wouldn't look so goofy when she bought her own icecream. She motioned for PJ to set Sjajan down, and as soon as he let go, she took off toddling for the truck. Indu followed at a slightly slower pace and smiled at the icecream man.

Oooh, he's cute...

Jani pointed up at the man with a huge grin.

"Prehee uhkeem mahn!" Pretty icecream man!

"Well, if you insist on paying, I like snow cones! PJ also placed Junketsu down who thn began to crawl towards the ice cream truck and Jani.

Indu? Hey Indu you still with us?" PJ follwed Indu's gaze over to the ice cream man and then grinned slyly. "Oh Indu! You like him!"

Surprisingly, she didn't blush, but raised both eyebrows instead and glanced over at PJ.

"Oh, no, I just think his face is pretty, not really the type I go for. Looks aren't everything. Still, if someone's gonna give me icecream, I'd rather have a hottie than some hairy dude with a beer belly, you know?"

With a grin she walked up to the truck's window and began to order their icecream.

"Hrmmm, one snow cone please, yeah, will all those flavors... Rainbow... Hrm... A Strawberry cone, a chocolate one and..."

She eyed Junketsu,

"...A vanilla one. Thanks."

That way, if Junketsu didn't like the more flavorful icecreams, she could try the plain one.

"I see what you mean, back home there was a beautiful girl who also happened to be incredibly rich. But she was kind of a b***h so we ended it. It was for the best, she never really seemed to like me that much any way."

Junketsu smiled up at Indu her hands makin grabby motions, she saw th ice cream and wanted it...now "ine?"

Indu paid the man and raised an eyebrow at PJ as she gave him the cone before hearing Junketsu. She grinned at the little girl and bent to give her the small vanilla cone. She could try all three if she wanted too. Jani recieved the strawberry one and Indu was left with chocolate.

"Home? ...Tell me about it, what was it like?"

Jani giggled happily and sat heavily next to Junki before licking at her cone.

"Awwwbareee!"

Junketsu recieved the icecream with joy, however she still did not know exactly what she was to do with this new item. She watched as her daddy ate a bit off his, and she trid the same. She however seemed to have gotten far more of it on her than in her, but she did seem to like it and thats really all that matters. "old!' She was trying to tell Jani to be careful, it was cold.

"Home, yeah home was very nice. It was far off though, I don't remember my birth origins, however I ended up living in a small village somewhere, can't really remember where exactly it was. I grew up in a privilaged family, however after a while riots and rebellions began to surface. These rebellions turned into lager scall fights, and in the middle of all this my home was under attack. While we fought a forign war, we also fought a war at home. My family home was destroyed by an enimy bombing, luckily was out for the day with my nanny. We were heading to my grandmother's house as my father took very ill, and he thought I should leave. While I was away my entire family ended up dying as casualties of war."

Indu couldn't help it.

"Holy s**t, PJ!"

She quickly covered her mouth and eyed the babies, but they seemed occupied with the icecream and she stepped closer before lowering her voice.

"...I'm so sorry... I still have some family, my sister... It must be so lonely for you!"

Jani took her friend's advice and licked the cone cautiously. It was good! She wanted to share! She thrust her cone at Junki and promptly licked at the other girl's cone. It tasted different!

"UMMEE!"


"Well, its really okay, it does get lonley around the holidays and such. Thats one reason I left my home, I could not bear the memories. That and the estate was up in flames.

I would really like meeting your sister to some time, it would be nice fo all of us to hang out."

Junketsu at once dove into the ice cream that Jani presented to her. It was different, good, but she seemed to much rather the vanilla. "umme!"

Indu's eyes widened briefly in fear, how did he know about her sister?! Did he know about her... She slowly relaxed once she realized she'd accidently mentioned her family and cleared her throat.

"Well, uhm, that'd be nice but she's... Not in the area at the moment. What are you doing on the Fourth of July? You could spend it with us if you'd like."

Indu glanced down at the babies, noting that Junketsu was actually a messier eater than Jani, which she hadn't thought possible.

Jani grinned at her friend, icecream on her chin, then caught sight of her mother and pointed at the brown cone.

"Ahkeeem!"

She wanted to try that kind too.

Indu rolled her eyes and bent to let the children try her cone if they wanted too.

"Oh, well when she does return it would be fun meeting her. And the fourth of July? No I have nothing going on, spending it with you guys would be a blast!

Junketsu looked at the brown ice-cream, and she instantly connected the chocolate to "excretion" she turned her head away in disgust "no poopy!"

Indu burst into laughter at Junketsu's remark and shook her head with a grin.

"Not poopy, love, it's chocolate. Try it. Jani likes it and Jani doesn't eat poopy either."

Jani giggled and awkwardly clapped her hands, narrowly avoiding dropping her cone.

"No poopy!"


"No Junketsu dear Indu is right, its okay to eat, really it is. Its not at all bad either, very good stuff that is." PJ turned to Indu and frowned a bit. "Full diapers tonight, that really won't be much fun will it?"

Junketsu took one more careful look over the ice cream, she decided that it would be okay, it really did not smell to bad, and she saw Indu eat it, and her daddy had eaten the brown stuff before. She reached out on hand with just a bit of hesitation.

"The children, they really are a wonder to watch, aren't they?"

Jani licked at her icecream some more then decided she didn't want it. With a surprisingly sly smile on her usually innocent face, she threw it so it hit Indu squarely on the knee.

Indu had opened her mouth to reply when her eyes widened and she staggered a little from impact... That baby had a strong arm.

"s**t... Jani you little..."

She sighed and shook her head with a shrug.

"I should be used to it by now, she always throws things at me..."

"Oh my, here do you need some napkins or something? She really does have an arm on her doesn't she?"

Junketsu looked in shock from Jani, to the cone, to Indu, and finally to PJ. Her look of shock however quickly disapeared from her face, and was replaced with a small smile. She lifted her cone and dropped it on PJ's left shoe.

"Oh Junketsu look at what you did, no matter I really need to buy some new ones anyway, these are getting rather old." PJ said this with a small chuckle. "Just don't do that to an of my other things."

"No... I... damn... I've got some... I usually am ready for this type of thing..."

She dug into her pocket and wiped off the icecream on her knee before bending and wiping off PJ's shoe. Straightening she eyed Jani and slowly shook her head.

"You can only get away with this until you're a toddler. Then I'll hire someone to beat you."

She was joking and Jani knew it, the babe giggled and patted Junki on the back.

"Gooh jah!" Good Job!

"Oh, thank you for cleaning my shoe. I suppose right now there is not much we can do, they are after all onlly still children, hopefully they will mello out as todlers."

Junketsu gleamed with pride, this was the first thing she ever really did that was... rebelious? She smiled as she was patted on the back and then turned to Jani. "gi irti" "he's dirty"


"There's no way Jani is mellowing out. She'll be able to run and TALK. Sheesh, I hate to think of her as a teen..."

Jani started to whimper a little, shifting where she sat, she'd been up since five this morning and was getting a little sleepy. She hated being sleepy...



"Well, Junketsu is not a very energetic baby, so hopefully she will stay calm. I already know she hates loud noises, so at least she won't have music up loud."

Junketsu eyed her friend, she was able to tell she was now tired. Junketsu crawled over to Indu and tugged on her shirt, then pointed at Jani.

Indu blinked and glanced over at Jani, who was yawning.

"Oh... she's tired... I outta take her home before she gets cranky. Call me about Jani sleeping over, alright?"

She picked up her blonde baby and grinned at Junki and PJ.

"It was great seeing you. I expect to see you really, really, soon, alright?"

"Oh, yes I will call you soon then. Sleep well Jani, and take care of yourself Indu." PJ walked over toward Junketsu and picked her up, as the past Indu and Jani, Junketsu put her hand out and patted Jani on the head.

Junketsu crawled away from PJ and headed over to a small a group of small cages laying on the middle of the floor. "uppy?" The cages held several small rodents, each only about the size of a pear, perhaps slightly smaller. Junketsu grimaced at the creatures. They didn't amuze her. "ick!" She crawled over to the main deask, next to it sat a small cardboard box. Inside lay a large cat, and a few kittens all of which were trying to climb out. "Daddy!"

"Yeah, what is it Junkestu? You like the cats? I guess we can get one if you like, the little white one is cute isn't it?" PJ kneeled down next to Junketsu and looked down into the bow.

"I wann it! I wike it." Junketsu reached into the box and tried grabbing at the smallest cat of the litter, a small white cat. The only distinguishing feature on the animal was its large brown eyes.

"Okay, we take her. Excuse me miss, were gonna buy the white one." PJ picked up the white cat and put her on the desk, she was waken up upon being put down and slowly strutted across the counter. "How much?" The woman behind the counter looked at the cat and smiled. "Okay, that one we can let go for $200." She said. "Oh, that all huh? Okay sure we'll buy her, and give me one of those colors, the dark one is nice." PJ dropped the money on the counter, picked up Junketsu and the cat and headed out the door. "Junkestu what should we call her?"

Junketsu looked the cat over and decided it was white so perhaps name it after a white food, or at least a food that was close to white. "name cracker!"

"Well, it is a nice name, but I don't know how well others will respond to that, it could be considered a racial slur, but you really don't need to know what that is do you? Anyway how about we call her Albie? Because she is white? I think its a good idea."

"Albie?" Junketsu chewed the thought over for a bit before deciding it was good enough, though not nearly quit as good as Cracker, and nodded. "home, sleepy!"

"Yeah, we'll be home soon, when we get there we can set up a small bed for Albie in your room."
