I played violin, then acoustic guitar, then electric, and finally settled for the mellow-funk of bass.

I wanted to play guitar when I was seven, and surprisingly my parents bought me a guitar for my eighth birthday. I never played it though... Damn thing never even got tuned. (Shoulda had lessons)
Anyway. The first thing I played (and knew what I was doing) was Alto sax.
I played that for my last two years of primary school, then when I got to high school they put me on Baritone sax for the school band. Then I moved to a different school and took up Flute and Clarinet. By this point I was becoming interested in my guitar again. I moved once more and saw a live band and I was determined to learn something on my mangled guitar. Then I kind of became interested in bass guitar.
I moved again (surprise surprise) and found myself with a group of girls who are VERY gifted with musical instruments. Thats when I decided I wanted to play bass. Now I do ^^
(My first performance for music class is in two days... Excited but hella nervous)

Played before Bass?.. Hmmm... Nothing.. now after Bass... Trumpet (7+ years) and Guitar (??? Years). I've been playing bass since I was little, as it was the only other instrument my uncle had laying around (he's primarily a guitarist now but he started off with bass) and I just wanted to play with him, so I picked up the bass and did. Wasn't until I played trumpet for school that I learned all the bits and pieces of reading music, and took what I learned from treble clef and learned to convert over to bass clef and is the source of my musical theory knowledge. I was eventually given a guitar as a present years later and now have worked towards being as good of a player as my uncle, not to say i've abandoned my bass the way he did, but it's play time has dropped dramatically recently. I think i'll stop, heh, barely realized I went into a semi-long story there that i'm sure no one cared to hear about. I blame the fact that it's 4:42 AM right now and I haven't slept for 2 days, so please excuse me if my mind is very sparse right now. biggrin
