She lowered her head and flushed, about to do something very out of character for her. "W-wait! At least let me buy you a coffee or cigarette or beer or something to pay back for my incident," she offered.

She started walking down the street next to him. "I'm sorry about that whole thing," she said. "I know this place that I can get into that has a bar, if you want to go there," she offered.

Skye blushed deeply as she stared down at the cement moving beneath her. "Well, it's right here," she said, opening the door to a small tavern and walking in. She took a seat at the bar and ordered a double martini without the bartender carding her. "What did you want?" she asked the stranger.

The bartender placed their drinks on the counter. Skye slipped him a twenty and he smiled at her. She looked down at her martini, stirring it around.

"Oh, it's Skye," she said, sipping at her martini. She scanned the stranger, noticing how good looking he was, then blushed and looked down at the counter when she realized she was staring.

Skye had just realized her wrists were showing, which had cuts all over them. She flinched, pulling her sleeves down to her fingertips. She hoped he hadn't noticed her doing any of this.
