Of all the trailers I've seen, there only seems to be mostly the guys from the FF series that will be fighting in this...It makes me feel a little sad...

well it is only main characters of 1-10 and they dont count the spin-offs so we wont be seeing yuna as a playable character.

Yeah, but it doesn't look like you can play as Tifa either.

Ah yes. I've heard of this game. In fact, it's been my current obsession for a while. I would absolutely LOVE to play this game. I can't wait to get it. Especially because Cloud is gonna be in it.
Here's a link to some information about the game. It also includes a list of characters. --> Final Fantasy Dissidia

Since this game is now out, I'll answer some of your questions.
Characters~ Cosmos Chaos
FF1:Warrior of Light - Garland FF2: Friion - The Emperor FF3: Onion Knight - Cloud of Darkness FF4: Cecil - Golbez FF5: Bartz - Exdeath FF6: Terra - Kefka FF7: Cloud - Sephiroth FF8: Squall - Ultimecia FF9: Zidane - Kuja FF10: Tidus - Jecht FF11: Shantotto ---------- FF12: ---------- Gabranth
This is a COMPLETE list, everyone unlocked. Actually there ARE summons in the game, as questioned earlier. These can be triggered by events, or manually, depending on what summon you equip. There is also an online mode, although I don't have wi-fi at the moment, so I can't give you any info on that yet, although ad-hoc multiplayer is fun!
All in all I give it my personal rating of 9/10. Impressive soundtrack, loads of tracks, the old tracks were given new live by orchestra (gotta love nobou uematsu), and the game even included one original unedited track for each game, as well as some totally brand new tracks. The graphics are not quite what you would call revolutionary, but still plenty pretty to look at for a hand-held. The story is mostly about individual character growth, so it lacked somewhat of a main story other than "save the world" theme that's in all FF games. The item system was new and intriguing as always, enough so to make you want to collect a bunch of items to soup up your favorite character, and has a fairly decent re-play value, especially if you want to level up more than just one character. The only reason I knocked it down from a perfect 10 was the graphics could have had some more detail here and there, and there really was no main story line as I mentioned before. All in all a must have for FF enthusiasts, especially if you like the whole series (this game is FILLED with ester eggs).
If you have any other questions about the game, feel free to send me a PM, as I normally don't have time to check this guild.
