remy69 yes im sure .....my instructor is realy strict of form...and he says only my round kick is bad gah, i struggle at that too... but because my knees and pelvis like to stay rigid (thing from birth with crappy knees+pelvis) but, keep your balance, the hardest thing is trying to kick without a good balance and stay upright... so: keep your guard, lean backwards a tad (pivot on your heel i think), bring knee up high and then straighten out and bring back. it works well for me

Not. Pivot. On. Your. Heel. Ever. In different arts the round house works in different ways aswell. So I believe remy is in Muay Thai? That places the emphasis on full commitment kicking. I.E. You dont extend then bring back, tippy tappy style. Thats TKD style of roundhouse

I think its safe to say that we all have different ways of doing a roundhouse kick. Soul, do you even pivot at all when doing a roundhouse? Every time i watch a muay thai fight i never see the way they position their feet when they actually kick.

Every time i watch a muay thai fight i never see the way they position their feet when they actually kick. Of course, otherwise we'd get no power Same guideline - pivot on the ball of the foot and make the heel face the opponent

Well when i watched Human Weapon, a guy learning muay thai didn't look like he was pivoting; the camera was more focused on the punching bag, so i wasn't sure.
