When I first saw Near, I hated him.
Gradually... The next episode, I liked him.
He can't replace L, but I won't say that I don't like him as a character.

I mean, I'm not going out and saying I hate his guts. To me, Near's like that person you can tolerate spending some time with, but you can think of far more enjoyable things to do. I think Matt and Mello are better, personally...none of them can replace L, though.

When Near first enters hes still pretty young. By the end of the series I believe hes 19 years old. Hes totally awsome though ^^.......L is the best though ^^;;;;

I first watched the DN anime, so first I heard Near's voice I thought he was a girl O_O

Near is 18 years old and stays 18 because Death Note ends in January, and he was born in August.

He looks like a ten year old trapped in a twenty year old body.
At first, I hated Near with a burning passion.
I used to think he tried too hard to think like L.
But towards the end of the series, I gradually began to like him a little...
Only a little though.
I still think L is 10x better then Near.
