One eyebrow rose, and she gave him a curious look.

"I've never heard of an Angeni before... how do I know you're not making all of this up? What are Angeni's supposed to be?"

She stepped closer with one firey hoof, to get a better look at the stallion. Aside from the obviously large wings and the fire that seemed to consume his body, he seemed to be just a regular bright colored stallion. Was that all there was to him?

"It is..." Moltres fumbled for the words for many long moments before finally sighing and shaking his head. "I cannot explain. 'Angeni' means 'Spirit Angel' and the Kawani believe us to be spirits come to earth in horse form."

He looked from the beautiful vista to Kindle. "I cannot confirm or deny such a belief; it is not my place."

Her ears perked up at his description of what this Angeni breed was like, and she began a slow walk around him, scrutinizing every inch of his flame-covered body.

"Spirit?" she questioned, eyeing him. "Like... a ghost spirit? Or another kind of spirit? You look pretty real to me!"

Her nose gently nudged his side, just to assure herself that he was actually a solid creature. Thankfully, her skin was made to tolerant to heat and flames thanks to the Nightmare blood running through her veins, else no doubt she'd have found herself with a burn on her dark nose.

Moltres was surprised when she so fearlessly nudged him, even moreso when he saw she was unburnt. Whatever her heritage, it clearly was something to be reckoned with.

He gave her a kindly look. "Now now," the stallion said chidingly, "I have already said it is not my place to confirm or deny, even less so to give fact. I am what I am and what you make of it is your own choice."

But he did give her a nudge of his own, warm breath blowing over her back.

"You sound like my Mother." she snorted, giving him a smirk. "Like... some 'ol horse or something!"

Her smirk turned into an all-out grin as he nudged her back. "And here I was under the impression that you were younger, like me for example."

One hoof traveled closer to the ledge to glance over, eyeing the distance and height she was against the ground far below her. Feeling a bit nauseous, she turned back around and shook her head, regaining her calmness and cool attitude. "But then again, I guess we all can't be as independant and carefree as myself, now, can we?"

Moltres did his best to appear the wise teacher. "Age is but a perception," he remarked. "But attitude is much a part of how old one is percieved to be."

He walked around Kindle once, though he wasn't looking her over. Merely...looking.

"After all, we were all foals once, and we will one day die, but in between we simply are."

Another eyebrow quirked up, curiousity getting the better of her.

"But if attitude is part of how old one is perceived by, then why would anyone want to act like an old nag in the first place, when they can remain a foal forever?"

Her tail swung back and forth, enjoying the conversation as she attempted to shove away her doubts and worries about how she was going to make it down the jagged mountain.

"There's nothing simple about how we are. If we were all simple, then I wouldn't be and look the way I do, and you would surely not have nor give the appearance that you're currently showin' me!"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 07, 2007 6:22 pm

Moltres shook his head in amusement. "Surely one can remain a foal in mind and action forever, but one's body will age. And then, of course, one will only be accorded respect when they act as one who deserves it." His eyes glinted mischeviously as he aimed a slightly more personal barb. "Since when is a foal accorded much respect?"

Oh, she was a fiery one indeed, as her name proclaimed. The stallion seized upon the new subject. "Simplicity is, when examined complex. It does not neccessarily lend itself to conformity, and may not extend beyond the surface. It only makes things easier to think of," he commented. "But of course, you have your own thoughts on it."

A small laugh escaped from between her lips as she caught his impish glance towards her. So... this 'ol fuddy-dud did have some spark to him after all!

"Well," she started, tossing her long hair back, "When should a foal care about gaining such respect? They're far too busy intrigued and enjoying the world around them to worry about politics and pleasing others. I say, that's the way to be; life's far too short to waste on making sure you're prim and proper all the time, followin' the rules."

Her smug look fell a bit, as he spoke of simplicity and his opinion on the subject. Typically, if she couldn't understand a theory, she'd mimic it back or simply shrug it off... but she wasn't about to let this stallion get the best of her, and especially wouldn't let him catch on that she wasn't understanding exactly what he said.

"Simplicity to me, is just that. Simple. You cant be complex and simple at the same time... that just... doesn't work, now, does it?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 07, 2007 6:37 pm

If a horse could shrug, Moltres would. He didn't much care for pointless and endless frolicking himself. But, who was he to deny that pleasure to others? "Respect is for those who want it and work to earn it. If you do not wish it, perhaps your are then content without it."

She truly was interesting, a challenge in some ways, though still young and relatively untried. He would be kind to her, try not to be mean. "That which we do not care to think deeply on we count as simple. It is merely a perception."

"You're starting to sound old again," she chuckled, stretching her long patterned legs out as she dared to near the ledge once again.

"Why don't we take a break from all this serious talk and let's say you help me find a way down this mountain that wouldn't involve me breaking my neck?"
PostPosted: Tue Aug 07, 2007 6:47 pm

Moltres nodded, amusement in his eyes at the change of subject.

"Well," the stallion mused, "I cannot lend you my wings, thus we shall have to take the mountain route. Though," he commented blandly, "I would think you would remember your path upwards and retrace it."

She had enough sense to blush, feeling quite embarrassed about the confession she would be forced to now make.

"Well, I could... but it seems that route was far more easier to climb up than it is down. From how steep those ledges and rocks look, I'd no doubt trip and cause more damage than I'd do good."

She glanced away, looking around to see if there was an easier slope or path that she hadn't noticed before. "I may act foalish, but I'm not stupid enough to not know my limitations."

For only the second time, Moltres looked at Kindle with a measure of true respect.

"Perhaps I can be of aid. It may be that if I lead and you follow, I may be able to keep you from sliding off the mountain, should you slip," the stallion offered after taking the time to contemplate their abilities and their best possible route.

She blinked and continued to stare at him. "Help me from slipping...?"

It was a very generous offer from a stranger, and though Kindle rarely dismissed anything on the basis that the other party was less than familiar to her, this situation was definitely more risky than any she had ever taken before. Should she trust this bird-like stranger, who would no doubt have the chance to fly off and abandon her mid-way down the slopes? Or put her faith in someone she had only met minutes ago to get her safe and sound down the craggy path?

"How... how do I know I can trust you?" she asked, attempting to hide the fact she'd grown suspicious of the stranger. She wanted to trust him, but she knew both her father and mother would dissaprove should she not attempt to verify the trust between herself and this... Angeni.

Blinking for a second time, she rethought her logic. Follow what her Mother and Father would want her to do? Since when had she started doing THAT?

"You know what, nevermind that question." She said haughtily, nodding her head in affirmation. "Lead the way, Moltres."
