"Hum... I would help you but I'd probably fall off..." Taki muttered, glancing back at his own mostly-useless tail. It wasn't even prehensile...
"Maaaaaybe she'll help you," he said, pointing to Rann, looking at her with a sidelong glance, then turning to face her. "Hey Miss Rann, could you please help us for a minute?" He combined it with his smile (papa said that the girls wouldn't be able to resist his 'boyish charm' when he got older) and pleading eyes.

Keres glared at the idea, but said nothing as she too looked over at Rann.
The Sven looked up from the little pile or gravel and tiny sticks she had made at her feet when her name was called. "Hmm?" She questioned the air and then caught eyes with the boy on the play structure, as well as the dagger glare from her sister's charge.
"Help with what?" She asked half-heartedly as she rose from the ground and wiped off her bottom. She advanced to the spot right below the monkey bars where the two children stood on the 4 foot platform, ignoring the fact that Keres had crossed her arms stubbornly over her small chest.

"Help Keres hang with me!" Taki said cheerfully, swinging his arms so that his entire body started a slow swaying motion. Taki glanced over at Keres. "If... you still wanna hang with me?"
His ears were still pointed towards Keres, and his eyes were wide, worried he'd somehow offended the sphinx girl.

Rann rose her brows in slight surprise...or was it in speculation? "I wouldn't mind, buh' I dun Keres'll leh' me." Cyan eyes looked from Taki to Keres, who had turned her eyes away from Rann and was now looking at Taki.
"I want to hang!" She exclaimed, "but...but..." the child was at a loss. She didn't want the Sven to help her. She didn't like her. But she did like Taki, for now, and didn't want to make him sad (again, for now), and she really REALLY wanted to hang! Feral eyes looked back at Rann where her inner debate could be plainly seen.
"'Ow 'bout I just...um...'ow 'bout yew fehrst try on yur own, Keres, an' I'll then help yew as li'ule as poss'ble the second time 'round?"
Keres blinked, glared, and then surprisingly nodded to the plan... and after a few failed attempts, and some yelling and a few smacks on Keres' part, Rann had finally helped her onto the monkey bars where she was now hanging by use of her tail.
Shrill giggles spewed from the child as she clapped her hands and flitted her wings, feline feet curled onto her stomach. "TAKI HANG TOO!" She cried and turned her head to look at him.

Taki grinned and swung idly out to where Keres was to hang upside down once more himself. He had been starting to feel a little woozy (the blood in his head, is what his papa would have said) so he'd sat on a ledge across the monkey bars while Keres got up. "Yay! You made it!"
"Oh oh, do you want to hear that riddle papa told me? I bet you'll like it." Taki wiggled, as much as it was possible while hanging upside down from his legs, and his tail twitched happily through the air.

"Tell! Tell!" Replied Keres enthusiastically. She continued to wave her hands about above her head and towards the gravel below. Her cheeks were becoming pinker, but so far she didn't feel all that lightheaded. Yet.
Meanwhile, Rann had retreated and now stood some several feet away with her arms crossed due to Keres' protests of her being too close.

"Um um... Okay... I can run but never walk, I have a mouth but never talk, I have a head but never weep, have a bed but never sleep." He grinned widely after he'd finished and swung back and forth on the bar. It made sense why Calder had told that once his papa had explained it, and he was absolutely giddy to be able to share it with his new friend, who happened to like riddles as much as he, from the looks of it.
[A river]

Keres rubbed her hands together as she thought, repeating the riddle one word at a time in her head until she finally thought she had an answer. "A river?" She asked, but there wasn't much uncertainty in her voice as she said it; she was almost completely certain that that had to be the answer.

Taki beamed, and nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, a river! You're smart like Irelia. How many riddles do you know? I only know a few that I can remember, but papa has a bunch of books of them, he said they'd be good for me." His tail swished through the air carelessly behind him, and his eyes were fixed inexorably on Keres, still smiling.

Keres was barely half listening since her attention had been switched to focusing on how to get down from... being upside down. Wiggling her wings, she turned her head towards Taki. "How you get down?" She asked and pointed an arm and hand past her head towards the ground below. She didn't want to just drop... that'd hurt!

"Uhh... Can your paws reach one of the bars?" Taki asked, reaching up with his own hands. "Cause... Then, maybe you can get it so that your arms reach, and then you can drop, and then you'll land on your feet instead of your head!" he said with the blind optimism of youth.

Keres nodded to the boy's sensible logic. It made perfect sense, right? Now if only she could reach the bars...
The sphinx child tried to reach up with her arms, coiling and bending her body upward into some contorted "u" looking shape. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get herself high enough to fully grasp it. "Not working!" she grunted and then fell back to hang again. If she had known that this was going to such hard work, well, then she never would've done it! "Taaakiiii," she whined and looked at him.

"Well..." He blinked in complete bafflement at the fact that his plan hadn't worked. His plans always worked. No, it was definitely that Keres wasn't doing it right. He didn't say so out loud, though.
"I'll get on the ground and maybe I can push you up far enough so you can reach?" he said, the statement more of a question.

Keres actually had to ponder this idea of his for a moment. She did NOT like being touched - as shown earlier - and how could she be sure that they wouldn't hurt her? Accidentally or not.
...It was quite another internal debate of the sphinx's side of things.
"Keres-" Came Rann's voice, though the rest of her words were quickly cut off.
"-Fine. Taki help." The chimera girl blurted. No way was the rabbit-lady helping again. "But you don't touch my wings, 'kay?" She stated, her words more of a direct order rather than a question. She even pointed a finger at the cat-boy to show it.

Taki watched her struggle to decide what the best course of action was, and then nodded, reaching out, then pulling back his hands at the sharp demand that the wings not be touched.
"Mhmm, I can do that," he said and sort of crouched underneath Keres, putting his hands on her shoulders, careful not to even brush her wings, and pushed upwards, ears pressed back against his skull, his tail not even twitching. "You're heavy!" he groaned, but didn't give up. He could do this!
