"Naw, so long as none of 'em lose their arms," said Xi comfortably. "You only got half an hour, though, because that's when Evan comes back from lunch. - I don't think it's hurting 'em too badly and heck, I would've thought Devi would've been crying her eyes out but she's not, but if any of them get really scared and start bawling I'll remove 'em. Deal? Want a coffee?"

"Nah, I drank a pot by myself this morning. Why do you think I've been screwing around all morning?" he asked, practically bouncing where he stood.
"Besides, I doubt they'll do much."

Harper had decided some couple seconds ago he wasn't going to wait for Devi. Set and ready to go he threw himself against one side of the ball and seemed pleasantly surprised when he found himself rolling around. Not as fast as he'd like, but there was only so much a little squirt such as himself could do.
He spent a good couple seconds slamming himself as hard as he could in every which way... that is, until he spotted Devi. Grinning at her, and giggling like mad, he started making every effort he could to not only roll over to her, but roll in to her!

"I. NEED. TO. FLUSH. THE. POTTY." Irelia was screaming as Asher dragged her from the bathroom stall. She had been full of spite that morning, flailing and throwing tantrums, screaming that she would NEVER go to the Daycare.
Telling her that he would be in the same building, he thought that she would settle down. It seemed it only gave her firepower to find him, and bother him, halfway through the day. No one had registered for any of his classes yet, but Asher was in the midst of throwing some pots when Irelia appeared in the doorway to his room, a long ways off from the Daycare.
Now Asher was dragging her back to the Daycare, but no one seemed to be in the room when he got there. Asher could hear something coming from the gym, and herded Irelia in that direction.
"You HAVE to stay at the Daycare. I'll come get you in three hours, but you need to stay with them right now."
Asher opened the door and stared.
Irelia rushed in to the room, forgetting why she had sought out Asher in the first place as she noticed the giant balls. Running in to one of the balls near the wall, Irelia was flung back and she laughed with glee.
"What is going on here?" Asher asked the two men, his face betraying how ridiculous and dangerous he found this situation.

Xi gave Shade a long, deeply amused look, pretty much the epitome of I told you so. Much to either his credit or his stupidity, he did not immediately throw Shade to the parental wolves, and slurped on his coffee as he gestured to the tableaux. "P.E," he said. "Sorry you found us empty. Mister - " That was to Shade. " - you explain your lesson plan, I'm just gonna rescue Curly Locks. Harper's liable to drive-by."
He ambled away after Irelia, leaving Shade to face the music.

Shade thought for a moment, raising a finger. "Padded, clear balls with plenty of air holes that only roll about one mile per hour at full speed?" he offered. "Well, at baby powered speed, that is. They're safer in those balls than they are running around, actually. If they fall they won't get hurt."

Devakanya, oblivious to the adults, was fixed on watching Harper. She didn't even notice the other little girl who had joined in the rather strange game. As it were, Harper was rolling at her. ...Harper was rolling at her? Suddenly realizing how bad this was, the girl's eyes went wide and she scrambled to her feet. She needed to get out of here, fast!
She started to move again, only to find herself rolling and falling. This ball thing was hard to master. A few tries later, she'd moved a foot or so. Now she'd be safe, right?

After 'zooming' past Devakanya after she moved away in time, Harper put a frown on and 'stopped' his ball. He looked around until he spotted her again and started at her intently for awhile, looking rather compedative all of a sudden.
Oh! he would get her!
Smiling like an imp he stuck his tongue out and slammed himself at her in her new direction, breaking into giggles again as the ball started throwing him around. "Ieeeee!"

...she...was going...to DIE. This boy was a totally lunatic! He was trying to kill her! Eyes the size of dinner plates, she leapt to her feet again. Was this whole time going to be spent simply trying to stay alive? Didn't the teacher say he would rescue her if things went badly?
The little unicorn glanced around wildly for Shade, only to spot him with two other grown-ups. Why was he talking!? He wasn't supposed to be busy! Harper's wild shriek reminded her of her current doom and she threw herself sideways, leaping out of the way. She tumbled and rolled a few feet before gently bumping the wall and coming to a stop. Chewing her lip, Devi stood up and looked around for the crazy boy once more.

Shade glanced over at them casually, only to scowl at the sight of the little girl frightened, and race over to her side, undoing the door. "You want out, sweetie?"

Her hero! Devakanya glanced up, reaching up towards the man. She wanted out right now, before the crazy boy came back. Please take her out, please please please! She chewed on her lip and waited, magenta eyes still wide. Please?

He pulled her out, propping her on his hip and whispering calming things to her. "It's okay, it's okay. He's just trying to play."

He wasn't trying to play. He was trying to kill her, clearly! Didn't Shade pay attention to anything!? She clutched to his shirt, staring down at the gym floor. The crazy boy was below her...and she was safe. Devakanya breathed a sigh of relief and settled against the teacher. Here was a safe place to watch.

Harper's draw dropped again. Oh soooo not fun! Scowling at Shade as he conducted his valliant little rescue, Harper slouched down the side of his ball and crossed his arms watching bitterly.
"WE PLAY!!" He screamed, pointed at Shade more than Devi. "No let out!!"
However, when Dev looked down at him he managed a smile, albeit a weak one. Wasn't mad at her, she was being fun. Shade ruined it all.

"Sorry, kiddo, it's only play if everybody's having fun," Shade told him. "And this little one wasn't, right, sweet?" he asked Deva.
