My friend had a Kdrama called "Stairway to Heaven". It's the first drama I ever watched. It's one of those sad dramas that just goes on and on and on. I'm the type of person that will watch on and on to get to the happy ending. Long story short, we never did finish watching, but then she gave me "Tree of Heaven" which is short(er) and sad. I wasn't depressed at the ending though - I was mad.
I didn't know if they existed, but I was determined to find a drama with a happy ending and a heroine who wasn't a wimp. And with a lot less crying. So I went out on my own (onto youTube and veoh.com) and I found a Tdrama called "Tokyo Juliet". Gasp! The heroine had goals in life! She actually kissed her boyfriend!
And by and by I realized that "Tokyo Juliet" wasn't even that great a drama according to other drama lovers, and that they only get better (w/ some exceptions). And so, I am hooked.

"Great Teacher Onizuka" for me. It was the first one I saw and it opened up my eyes to the world of J-Dramas.

I watched the 1st season of HYD but it didn't get me addicted. Then I saw Nobuta wo Produce. That was the one that got me addicted. My sister had them on the hard drive so I got bored and watched them.

The first drama I ever watched was "Meteor Garden." And then I watched "Mars" and "Hana Kimi." Those were awesome. "Hana Kimi" got me obsessed with Japanese dramas. After that, I just began watching a whole bunch of different other dramas. <3

Sky of Love (Koizora)
It wasn't anything big but it really got me into the whole 'live action Asian show' thing.
^-^
