"Such concern for another living being." her voice was lightly mocking. "If it's living, I'll kill it." Of course, if the potential prey was marked by another, she would respect that. Unless the other was on her prey list as well. She turned, moving in the direction of the stream she heard running. Her ears moved, still attentive to the stallion behind her, but she was thirsty. "I am getting something to drink. And I have blood on my hooves. Would you like to join me?" She may as well invite him. The majority of life was menial things anyway.

"My only concern is for your safety my dear." His own voice was laden with mockery in return. "Wouldn't want you stumbling upon something you shouldn't and getting into trouble. It would be...quite a horrible experience, I can assure you."
With a flick of his tail, he took a few languid steps in the direction she was heading. He wasn't thirsty for water, rarely did he drink such a thing. Valar was more interested in what this female's intentions were. Curiosity inside him had peaked. Apparently she wasn't as open as some others to what her personality really was like.
In time he'd figure it out. In time. But it seemed like it would be slow going like a rock trying to roll up a hill.

"Such a kind stallion." her voice went dry. "I'll endeavor to stay out of trouble, you needn't worry." She moved down the path, heading for the noise that signaled a small bit of water running nearby. She moved forward without comment, tail flicking behind her.
She only took a sip of the water. Zuli preferred the taste of blood. Warm and thick, running down her throat, but water was a necessity. And it kept her clean. Call her vain, but she did so hate being covered in blood and brain. She'd thought she'd gotten it all off though, too. Oh well. "And what dangers lurk in the mountains, so that I can be prepared when I go wandering." she gave him a toothy grin, standing in the water, letting the water rinse her legs off.

Rolling his eyes slightly, he gave an unappreciative snort. "Not kind at all. But since I barely know you, perhaps I shouldn't give much of a care. Even if you are of my own kind." His tail lashed back and forth in annoyance. Being called kind, even in a mocking fashion was not something he swallowed well. The Kalona was far from kind. It was more of a warning to her. Even if she was a Kalona, he disliked it when others came into his self proclaimed territory. More Kalona meant less food for him as he knew how ravenous some of the younger generations could be.
Keeping his distance from the water, watching silently as she took a quick sip. The corner of his mouth curled, showing the rows of sharp teeth concealed behind his lips. "Something I can assure you, you wouldn't want to deal with." He was vague, but it didn't matter to him.

Her wings snapped out, and she stretched them lazily before tucking them back into her sides. "Perhaps I was a bit cruel." the mockery was gone from her voice now, though her lip was curled in silent amusement. "If you don't want others in your territory, stallion, perhaps you shouldn't offer them such a tempting invitation." Her own teeth were bared in response to his, and her body stiffened. Even her tail went still, and she looked like a statue, frozen in the water, eyes on the black and red figure.

"Heh. I don't mind others in my territory, that much. As long as they don't make a permanent resident of themselves. And that they aren't Unicorns." No muscle had twitched in response to her wings unfurling. Valar felt no real threat from her, though that wasn't any excuse to lower one's defenses.
He gave yet another snort as she stood there like a statue with her teeth bared, before he moved past her and lowered his head to snap at the water with a long, dark tongue. Only taking in enough to clear his throat of any obstruction. Weither it be saliva or dust from the air. "I'm willing to make acceptions occasionally though. Depending on the circumstances."

Her eyes flickered over him as he moved past him, letting her body unfurl itself. Unicorns. She's heard of them, seen them, though she'd not met one yet. Disgusting one-horned creatures, that were 'pure of heart'. "Really." she turned, moved out of the water, shaking her legs off. "I see. Your exceptions include what then?" she looked over at the nameless stallion, waiting patiently.
She'd not taken a close enough look at him before, apparently. The red on him, his mane, it looked like fire. She'd not been observing HIM, she'd observed the aura. The airs that he had about him, and been responding to that. Which was good, but not necessarily her wisest moves.

Lifting his head, he slowly turned it, setting his blazing eyes upon the mare. "My own kind. Unless of course they are those of the Kalona that aren't worth mentioning. If they are of any other kind of breed they are quickly shown the exit. Most don't put up a fight, but there are others who were stubborn that didn't quite make it to the most immediate exit."
That brought back several memories of those types of encounters. The thing that he most remembered though was the blood. Always the blood. Even the horrified faces of those nameless Soquili who dared challenge him on his own turf didn't quite have that effect on his memories.

His eyes were something truly unique. She couldn't recall ever meeting anyone with eyes that looked so... hate-filled. Her tail twitched again, swishing lazily through the air. "The Others." She murmured. "I'm surprised any of them made it to the nearest exit." something about him had struck her as... colder than that. Not that she was complaining. Even the lessers were necessary for something, she supposed. Perhaps to help take the place of prey, if one of her kind was desperate enough for the sight and scent of blood.

"Not many tend to linger long enough to let their presence be known. I can't be in many places at once. No matter how hard I try. Though it's not too hard to see anything moving about from the height of my home." Valar's eyes lidded slightly as he watched her a little bit longer before he turned his head quickly to look away.
"Lessors are near to complete uselessness. The only thing they are good for is prey and fodder. Nothing else. Them and their happy little families. Makes me sick to think that some of them could whittle their way into the Kalona. But some are just that weak." His eyebrow raised slightly as it has just occurred to him that he did not know the name of this mare. And yet he had openly started a conversation with her. "By the way, might I ask what your name is? That way I have a name to put to your face."

He certainly had HER curiosity piqued. Good heights meant good places to see prey from. And she wasn't so much a glutton for death she'd kill EVERYTHING in his home she saw. She'd try and keep her intrusion... minimal... when she went to wander the mountains later.
"They do make fun prey though, don't they?" a small smile crossed her face. "So weak, and defenseless. And so trusting. Even though we have sharp teeth, fangs, and they should fear us, they are always willing to give the benefit of a doubt to a little deceit." Her eyes narrowed, and her smile was not at all pleasant.
"I am Zulimar." she nodded her head to the stallion, granting him a genuine smile. "And you would be?"

"Very much so. The parents are especially fun to hassle when they feel so secure. Just swooping in and snatching their young off the ground. The look on their faces when you fly away with their young clenched in your jaws is always a pleasant sight to see."
Giving a deep chuckle to himself, he smirked just a bit. Often times he would do such a thing, just for shits and giggles. He wouldn't eat the foal, most of the time. Oh no. It was much for fun to watch the lessor parents morn over their dead foals bodies. Such fools for living in their own little world of safety. Nothing was safe. "Yes. The should fear us. We are worth fearing and there is a reason behind it all."
A snap of his tail and an slight adjustment of his wings came soon after. Giving a small nod to the mare, he smiled. Not something he did often, but a smile non the less. " I am Valarauco. It's a pleasure to meet someone such as yourself, Zulimar."

She gave a soft laugh, imagining the looks of terror on the faces of the parents as their innocent, bouncy foals.... were slain, by a danger they'd not cared enough to forsee. Or respect. She herself had never done something like that. She preferred to catch the foals alone, and seduce them with sweet words, until they looked at her with innocent eyes...
That faded as her teeth tore out the slender neck. She visiby shivered. Killing was so much nicer with a personal touch. And not only on foals, on any Other. Lesser, she corrected herself mentally. That was the proper terminology in this land. She watched him with a bright violet eye, gleaming with pleasure at the thought of someone else... someone like her, who killed for more than just food. "Indeed, Valarauco." his name was unique, and a bit hard for her untwistable to pronounce. She rolled it about in her mind for a few minutes. "I would like to call you Valar... is this acceptable?"

"That is fine. My full name isn't always easy for everyone to pronounce." It was the truth though. Some Kalona had such simple names. But the dark stallion was proud of his name. One that would never be replicated by anyone, too ancient for those to even hear a whisper of its origins now.
His eyes turned to the water for a moment. Staring at it as one would at something with no interest. More as for something to look at than anything to study. "If you don't mind me asking...but what has brought you to these lands? Everyone has their story to tell. Or at least some do anyway."

She shook her head, glancing up at the trees, watching the wind whip the leaves around. "There was no particular anything that brought me here. I was traveling, and here is where I came. Whether this is my final destination, or whether I will continue on, I am uncertain as of yet." A shoulder rose and fell, the hoof stamping into the ground.
