taka_nuva1989 Ganseki Senpai That movie was totaly bogus, nobody can beet Gene Wilder.... NOBODY!!!!! You are entitled to your wrong opinion. I loved it. In fact, it made a great first date, although me and my two buds that I was coupling with managed to irritate my g/f by singing the willy wonka song... Give me a brake, this movie was the stinker of the year, there was no need to remake Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, and certainly no need to remake it in such a demented way. Johnny depp wouldn't know wonka if a vermicious Kanid was yodeling it right in his face. The whole movie was in such an understated tone that you fell like falling asleep, there are no surprises, for instance, when Charlie is the only one left wonka looks at him and just says, 'Oh... you're the only one left? I guess you've won." rolleyes there is no KAPOW there is no VUALA... just oh here you go kid. Wonka should make witty comebacks, DEPP just says "you're weird" and "you smell like old people" or "mumbler" or some two or three word line that any four year old could think up. Gene Wilder made some awesome remarks in the original, "are you sure this boat is sea worthy? (wonka points to his belly) "with your buoyancy rest assured" or when he avoids people questions. When Depp meets the children, he just spouts his two word remarks, with a dumb look on his face, when Gene meets the kids, he interacts with them and pulls you in. Depp dropped the ball on this one, what a boob. Depp wasn't a loopy jolly man who was a little crazy like wilder portrayed, instead he was a demented psycho, WITH A DUMB LoOK ON HIS FACE ThE WHOLE TIME!!!! Lady__Belle Oh I really loved that movie. Especially that candy doesn't have to make sense. biggrin I also loved the room with the pink sheep being sheered, I bet that was supposed to be cotton candy!!! biggrin That would be wool candy. Cotton comes from a plant. KisaMegRiddle I saw it with of my friends and both of them sang along with the movie because they already had the soundtrack. I love the songs I had them stuck in my head for days, wait still have them stuck xp How could that be? you can't understand a word they're saying in those songs, they're so stupid. scream The origanal songs are way better... hehe xd OOMPA LOOMPA DOOMPADEE DOO I'VE GOT ANOTHER PUZZLE FOR YOU OOMPA LOOMPA DOOMPADAH DEE IF YOU ARE WISE YOU'LL LISTEN TO ME WHAT DO YOU GET FROM A HORID REMAKE? A BUNCH OF BITTER PEOPLE FOR PITTY SAKE AND WHO COULD BLAME THEM THIS MOVIE IS WRONG THEY EVEN CHANGED OUR FAVORITE SONGS THOSE LOSSERS DEPP AND BURTON OOMPA LOOMPA DOOMPADEE DAH GO WATCH THE FIRST ONE IT’S BETTER BY FAR YOU WILL LIVE IN HAPPINESS TOO LIKE THE OOMPA LOOMPA DOOMPADEE DO

Hey Guess what. I HATED THE RETARED GENE WILDER VERSION. IT WAS SO STUPID. AT LEAST THE NEW VERSION *GASP* FOLLOWS THE BOOK. THERE WAS A DIFFERENT SCRIPT WRITER SO OF COURSE THE LINES WERE DIFFERENT. THEY WERE NOT REMAKING THE GENE WILDER VERSION, THEY WERE MAKING A BETTER VERSION. scream sorry for screaming, i just wanted to state my opinion. and you obviously did not watch the movie, because your facts are wrong.

First of all: This was NOT a remake of Willy Wonka. This was an adaptation of the book.
Second of all: You can't compare them. They are both great in their own ways. Granted, the Oompa Loompas in Charlie are a little creepier than in Willy.
Gansecki: I think it's doing pretty well at the box office for stinker of the year, don't you?
Now, PLEASE quit arguing!

THERE WAS A DIFFERENT SCRIPT WRITER SO OF COURSE THE LINES WERE DIFFERENT. Followed the book? For one thing, I can note quite a few major differences, not to mention the fact that most people don't give a rats butt these days HOW the book goes, people don't read, they watch movies, the Original film is more endearing to than the book fraid so, If they wanted to make such a movie they should have gone with the second book, because nobody wants to have their favorite movie botched in such a gay manner. KittenFreak1986 First of all: This was NOT a remake of Willy Wonka. This was an adaptation of the book. Adaptation or not, it was still horible, the first was good enough that you shouldn't even think of trying again, people don't like that much. Quote: Second of all: You can't compare them. They are both great in their own ways. Granted, the Oompa Loompas in Charlie are a little creepier than in Willy. Bah, how can you not compare the two? You see to things trying to do the same thing, the first was better than the second, tada easy comparison. Quote: Gansecki: I think it's doing pretty well at the box office for stinker of the year, don't you? NO, theres just nothing else compeating with it, if they put the Gene wilder version out allong side it, well no contest, WILDER ALL THE WAY, the only reason people would go see the new one is because they blinely follow that Depp character. I beg to differ. Wedding Crashers is competing with it.
You have your opinion, and I have my opinion. I am now staying out of this thread, because I really don't feel like getting ticked off tonight.

Who is Gene Wilder anyway? I've never heard of him before. I saw the old version once and hated it, the oompa-loompas were ugly and scared me.

Ganseki Senpai KisaMegRiddle the oompa-loompas were ugly and scared me. Just imagine how you would have felt looking at the beistly Depp for two hours as a child, SHEESH rolleyes one: you do not know what kind of childhood i had. the strangest things gave me nightmares (including oompa-loompas) two: i think Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor and i think he's cute. if the new version came out when I was younger, I would have loved it as much as i do now. and you can't change mine or anyone else's opinion.

KittenFreak1986 I beg to differ. Wedding Crashers is competing with it. WHAT? Wedding Crashers is rated R, i'm sure the little kiddies are racking their braines over whether to see that Rated R movie about the two men who crash weddings every year to slip in their needed fornication and debauchery, or a PG film about candy. stare Quote: You have your opinion, and I have my opinion.
