"You're amazing, Manny," Riley commented before promptly stuffing the side of the first biscuit in her mouth. And boy was it good! She felt her ears droop slightly, a sign of pleasure towards the taste, "Mmm~!" She quickly dipped the biscuit back in the gravey before lopping it back in her mouth for another bite. Ahhh, how a child could be easily pleased!

Manny laughed cheerfully, leaning back till she squished into the couch. It was nice to be here with someone she could talk to. Mama was fun, but it just wasn't the same. She reached for her own first biscuit, then piped up, "You should try this, it makes it last longer and you get all the buttery sweet taste." She peeled the top layer off of her biscuit, dipped the layer in the gravy, and popped it into her mouth, "Yum."

Always willing to try something new, especially when it came to food, Riley mimiced Manny to see the difference. Of course, her peeling of the biscuit was far messier and less skilled, causing little tufts of the pastry to fall into the gravey. But she didn't seem to care so much. Finally getting the part where she actually got to eat it she paused to note the flavor change. "Hey, you're right!" She finally decided, smiling but keeping her mouth shut due to still having food on her tongue.

"Yep, Mama showed me. You can only do it with certain kinds though, otherwhise they tear," she told Riley, proceeding to peel off a larger piece of her own. Everyone liked an afternoon snack, and they couldn't exactly talk about school and stuff on an empty stomach. She could hear Estelle moving about downstairs, but she couldn't guess how much longer she would be just from that.

Riley looked over her biscuit thoughtfully. She then glanced at Manny and laughed, "Who knew food was so complicated! I usually just eat it!" Well, that sure showed her lact of finess, among other things. But Riley seemed to lack a lot of things that her friend didn't, when you looked at it. Fashion sense was one thing. But she seemed content and obvlious, as always. Snacks were a regular thing for her and it usually got her in a good mood. Maybe even good enough to talk about school. Which she hated.

Manny finished up her snack, taking her bowl to the kitchen for rinsing. If there was one thing Estelle didn't like it was dirty dishes, she said it was just bait for ants. "So Riley," she said, a bit nervous about the question, "Have you met a boy named Antony? I think he'll be going to school with us." It was a good conversation starter in two ways. One, it led into school, and two, maybe they had a friend in common. That'd be nice.

Riley was midway through her final biscuit when Manny asked. She pauseed for a moment, since her mouth was full, and then hurriedly chewed and swallowed so she could respond properly. "Antony? Yeah. We learned self-defense together," she grinned, though she still didn't know what to think of the boy since he didn't really talk to her at all she had greatly enjoyed the lessons they had learned. She stuffed the rest of her snack in her mouth and then drifted back to the kitchen, bringing her bowl since that was what Manny had done.

Manuela took Riley's bowl as she came in, giving a puzzled look at the mention of self-defense classes. "Really? That sounds fun, I didn't really think he seemed like one for fighting. Is he any good?" She asked, wondering if her fashionable prince had a meaner, tougher side. That would be kind of cool, she could be tough. And if Riley and Antony were friends too then the three of them could be buddies in school!

"Yeah, he's pretty good. He didn't seem to like it at first though," Riley said thoughtfully, only now noticing Antony's reluctance to take part in such lessons when they started. Though he had been fine once they got rolling. "We didn't talk a whole lot," she murmured, not that she really minded. She just figured he didn't like to talk much. Little did she know it was because Antony didn't favor her in the least. Quite the opposite, actually.

"I met him at the mall, it was pretty cool. We talked a bunch, he never mentioned it," she admitted, though she realized it might have just been because she hadn't mentioned Riley. Giggling, she added, "He's kind of cute don't you think? Like some movie prince or something." Not that she had any interest in guys really, it was just something to think about. He kind of reminded her of the prince from Beauty and the Beast. Minus the fur of course.

Riley blinked, looking rather perplexed at the suggestion. Puppies were cute, kittens were cute. How was...Antony cute? She didn't get it. "Cute how?" she asked, sounding just as confused as she looked. Manny might not be interested in boys, but at least she had that sort of...girl sense to regonize them as something to be noticed. Riley really...didn't have that. Obviously. And as far as fantasy's about princes went, she only liked them because they usually invovled cool battles slaying dragons and such.

Manny blushed, looking down at her feet for a moment, "Well, I don't know, he just kind of makes me like he's going to sweep me off my feet or something." He had good taste in clothes too, they made him look elegant and mature. But maybe Riley didn't feel the same.

"Really? I didn't...get that vibe," Riley murmured, a little puzzled. But then, Antony hadn't exactly treated her the same as Manny. Not that either girl knew that. But, even though she had no clue what Manny was talking about, she wasn't going to upset her or anything. Besides, it was cool if she felt that way. As long as she liked it, that is. "Well, maybe he would if you asked him," she suggested with a crooked smile. If Manny wanted to be swept away...well...Riley would make him sweep her away if it killed her. Or something like that.

"Oh my gosh, that would be weird," she yelped, putting her hands up to her mouth, "Then he'd think I like liked him. Which I don't." No no, boys had cooties and they would for a good long time. She just appreciated his sense of style and how nice he was. That was all. Time for a different conversation, seriously. "Want to check out my room?" she offered, proud of it since she and her mother had redecorated with stuff from her favorite stores.

Riley was happy to leave the conversation behind. Because she really hadn't understood it in the first place. She had only known that she wanted to help Manny be happy so...she'd help her with any strange desires she had. But an expedition to her room sounded much better. "Yeah, lets do that!" she agreed with a more chipper grin, since now she was finally heading out of unknown territory. At least as far as their conversation went.
