Or perhaps Papina would slowly get to where she would worry more and more and still react, just in a different manner.
She felt the pressure increase as Reign started to speed up. Uh oh. Now was the time that they might hurt one another. Still, her body itself did seem to be keeping up the defense, just so long as she kept watch on both daggers and Reign...
Whoot for attempting to practice what you read in the books.

Reign smiled at Papina as they continued. She noted that the ivy girl seemed rather hesitant to attack and wondered if shew as worried about hurting her friend-turned-teacher. If only there were some dummies or something for them to use, but this was how Reign had learned, too... Though she wasn't taught by one of her friends, at least.
"You're doing great," Reign commented.

Papina managed a quivering smile for Reign's sake and somehow got herself to say, "Thanks." She stayed with defensive moves only, until Reign did just the right move: a move that she'd read of a certain counter-attack, one that she had been attempting to practice empty-handed for a while...
It happened without her thinking about it. She lunged towards Reign, out-stretched arm and dagger pointed straight at Reign's torso...

Reign was startled at the sudden counter-attack and it took her a moment to react. Somehow the chimp girl managed to divert Papina's arm and twist away. She checked herself for any cuts, but it seemed she'd managed to escape harm somehow.
The girl grinned at her friend. "I think we're done."

Next thing Papina knew, she was alone. Well, there was no one in front of her anyways. She turned around, blinking wildly as she tried to figure out what just happened. She did let the dagger hang by her side as Reign grinned at her and said they were done. She barely managed to contain a sigh of relief. It was tough training with friends - you were always risking hurting them.
Still, there was a kind of relief that she managed to do so well. At least she fully knew she could defend herself for a while at least. She just needed to keep up with practice at home... Perhaps now she could convince her mom to let her get those daggers...
It was then that her body started to tally up what hurts she had acquired - her diverted arm for one. "I'm starting to think we're done too." Her body was starting to quiver now, the beginning signs of exhaustion - it wasn't used to doing this kind of thing for so long, and it wouldn't be long before it started to shake. She fiddled with the dagger for a bit before handing it hilt-first out towards Reign.

Reign patted Papina's shoulder, then took the dagger back. "You did good."

Papina managed a tired grin when Reign patted her shoulder and took the dagger back. "Thanks," she managed, "You too." The leaves on her head looked like they were seriously considering to start wilting. As was, they were drooping from exhaustion. She waited a moment to see if Reign needed her for anything else, but only a moment since she really needed to get home soon - her mom tended to freak if she was going for long periods of time.
