Kay turned her attention away from the students to the reaper. She haden't sensed his presence until this moment, and she mentally scolded herself for being caught off guard. "Yes, I'm here to guide a soul to heaven... hopefully." She tilted her head to the side, and looked over the reaper. Kay didn't recognize him, which wasn't too surprising since she was still new to the soul guiding business.
"What brings you here, if you don't mind me asking? I didn't know that reapers enjoy being in the presence of the living, especially students."
((AH! There's a HUGE thunder storm near my house! I'm turning off my PC before I blow a fuse or something!))

((Been there done that. sweatdrop ))
"We don't, but with an eternity to live and no place to go, Reapers have to stay somewhere and besides you never know when there might be an unfortunate accident." With a slight pause Emmett adjusted his position on the brick wall so he sat slouching slightly forward his hands sitting on the edge of the wall. "And don't worry, I'm not interested in the soul you're guiding. Just get it out of here before the demons catch whiff of it." he said bluntly.

Kay scratched her head in thought. "I wasn't aware that accidents happened." She placed her hands on her hips, and said sternly "I'm sure that all deaths are planned. Oh, and another thing. I-" she cut herself off, her eyes wide. She quickly pulled the same parchment as before out of her belt pouch, and looked it over. She shoved it back into the pouch, and bowed her head in the reaper's direction. "I am sorry, but I must be going. Heaven's new soul should be arriving at any moment now."
Just then a scream rang out through the hazy morning air. A third story window opened, and a young male student poked his head out of the school building. Tears streamed down his reddened cheeks, and he cried "I can't take it anymore! None of you care about me at all! I HATE YOU!" A girl shrieked out from inside the building, "Please! Get away from the window!" The boy shook his head and swung both legs over the window ledge. "Maybe now you'll wish you'd been nicer to me! I just can't take my life anymore! because of you!"
The boy leaned forward, slipped off the ledge and twirled head first toward the pavement. Kay watched in horror, but quickly looked away as the boy's neck snapped from the force of the fall, and blood trickled out his ear. His body lay lifeless on the ground, and a commotion could be heard from inside the building.
Kay silently whispered "...Accidents?..."

Emmett watched the fall. "Hmmm... it probably would have been a lot less painful if he suffocated himself, maybe even drugs. Falling wouldn't have been my first choice." He prattled on mockingly about the boy's death. "If they really knew what death was like they wouldn't wish for it so early." He mummbled and crossed his arms. "Pathetic." He watched as his pendant began to pulsate a bright green yearning for the recently fallen soul. He brought his right hand over the sphere to quiet it.

Kay glared at the reaper, and clentched her fists together. "How dare you joke about this! Our job is serious, and I hope you realize that death is no laughing matter!" She buried her face in her hands, and sighed deeply. "Please exuse my outburst. It's not my place to attempt to lecture you." She turned her back to the reaper, but not before noticing the a tiny gleam of green light that came from Emmett's pendant. She brushed her curiosity away. It must be some sort of reaper toy...
"Reaper, I'm sure you're familiar with the rules. I cannot take this boy's soul to heaven, so I will leave him in your hands. Please take care of his soul, lest the demons snatch him away." She began to walk away as the boy's soul began to appear above his corpse. He appeared to be asleep, for he had not yet fully entered the after life. Kay stopped, and meekly asked over her shoulder "Unless... you think you need help handling this matter?"

"The boy just comitted the ultimate sin." Emmett said bluntly. He jumped down from the wall and headed over to the body. His hands reached around to the back of his neck to unclaspe the chain that went around his neck. and he draped it over his hand so the pendant hung before his outstretched palm. The sphere was still glowing a bright green but when it caught essence of the soul A bright blue light escaped from the pendant inner chamber drew the soul back within the pendant. Luckily for him, these lights were visible to the living, so it just looked like some boy fidgeting with a necklace. Once the soul was contained he put the necklace back around his neck. "He's either going to spend centuries in limbo trying to fix that mistake or the demons will take him as soon as I turn his soul over to death. But as long as the demons don't come here, I honestly couldn't care less." He spoke each word plain and no emotion in his voice.

"I thought it was against the rules for the lesser demons to cross over to the living realm anyway. Aren't they only supposed to collect souls near their own border?" Kay thought a moment, and then remembered the time a demon tried taking a young soul away from her. She sighed, "Then again, rules never stopped them before. Sorry, I'm still new to the whole angel thing." She glanced at Emmetts pendant, and said, "I've never seen one of those before. Don't you think it's uncomfortable for the soul to be trapped in that tiny space?"

((Sorry, I had play rehersals to go to.))
"Figured. We live we die, if we're good we get to to go to Heaven." He did quotation marks with his hands as he said heaven, with a great deal of venom laced in his voice. "If you're bad you go to hell. Well sorry to break everyone's dreams and what not but it doesn't always happen that way." He didn't get worked-up as he spoke his muscles were relax, teeth weren't clenched, neither were his fists. But his voice seemed eminate his own dissapointment. He tilted his head slightly and ran his hand across the pendant. "Since you're still not to familiar with your line of work I'll explain. We've got a lot of souls that never get picked up, and so whatever you demons and angels grab we get stuck with." With that he placed the pendant in his palm. "This holds the souls until I get time to get them where they're suppose to be. Unlike Angels we don't have time to escort each and everyone to their special place." He said sarcastically. He let the pendant drop suddenly and it stopped after if landed on the chest of his shirt. "And about the souls being comfortable, I don't know, I don't ask, and I never hear any complaints." He said simply.

Tai stalked the streets, searching for wandering souls, or even those of the living who were foolish enough to roam around after dark.((Assuming that it's night, if not, I'll change the post. sweatdrop )) As he walked by a persons yard, the grass and other nearby plants wilted and died.
"There's a lost soul around here somewhere," he began, "I can feel it."
He laughed evilly to himself as he stopped in front of one building in particular. Turning to face the doorway, he began to chuckle.
"There is always something for me to do here," he said, as he passed through the doors of a retirement home.

((Well, we've been rping in the early morning. ^_^; Orgrim, when I read that Tai was going into a retirement home I thought "NO! Not the old peopl!" sweatdrop It's so sad!))
Kay felt as if she just been scolded, dispite the fact that Emmett hadn't even raised his voice to her. "I'm sorry your job is more difficult than mine. If there was something I could do to help you and the other reapers I would but..." She began to walk backwards away from the reaper. "...I'm just a guide. A protector for souls trying to find their way to heaven. I don't think I have the power to change anything for the better." She extended her wings, and began to flap them back and forth. "I best be going. I have other souls to guide." She rose from the ground, and said before flying off "I'm sorry if you feel like I 'dumped' another soul on your plate. If I could take him with me I would. Perhaps, one day, you could guide a soul to heaven with me." Kay smiled and flew off into the cloudy sky, towards a retirement home. There, she planned on finding her next assignment.

(( xd I know I was on the front page for a good ten minutes thinking oh my god, where'd it go? I'm so slow.))
Emmett rolled his eyes as the angel flew off and headed back over to where he was sitting earlier. He didn't mean to make it sound like his job was harder than that of others, in fact he couldn't careless if he didn't get a soul each day. As soon as he died his soul was already spoken for, why can't it be like that for all of them, a lot less confusion and maybe there wouldn't be this mess. He still had at least an hour until the majority of the student body showed, and another half an hour until classes started. He took set of keys from his pocket and walked out to Black Elise in the parking lot. The one good thing about being the walking dead for the past century is you definetly save up a lot of money. He couldn't fly, needed to fit in with the others, was stuck on earth for eternity, and needed some form of transportation, so why not make it worth while? He revved up the engine and pulled out of the parking lot and onto the road, headed out towards the county city limits. He reached the small rectangular green sign that read corp limits right before a small bridge that ran over the Mad river. He parked the car on the side of the road and took a seat on the slope to stare down into the water. It was at normal level now, compared to how it was when he died. They'd also reinforced the bridge, and raised it slightly from it's original height. Around the water's edege and near the enterance of the bridge, were crosses made of drift wood actual lumber, nd verious other materials. Some were for him and others were for kids who tried to swim against the river on days it was swollen, other's who jumped willing to their death, and others whose bodies were found there after being killed. No wonder he never liked the idea of swimming in lakes in rivers, you never know whats on the bottom. No one really ever came here for him anymore, actually the last person he remembered here was about 40 years ago, was his younger brother. Who had passed away 15 years ago from a heart attack. In actualality Emmett was great uncle maybe a great uncle, he'd never actually looked into the whole living family thing, He was after-all dead. "I wonder how this all going to work-out." he breathed, thinking back to the new reapers. "But if I would have just let them die and souls go on off, It would have been hard to explain 5 dead bodies in my house."

Once inside, Tai immediately got to work with poltiguiste activities. Outside, screams of terror could be heard, as lights flickered on and off, sinks ran, and books went flying from thier shelves, just to name a few of the things he was doing. Rappidly, seniors were getting heart attacks and dying of fear.
